Oh I remembered in 2005 - 2006 many hens and ducks and Quails and limit rooster 🐓 We was outside all night and watch fox or something like animals.. Our eyes 😮saw weasels eat hens and horn Loud 🔊 keep weasel away from hens ..Hawk grab my puppy Brownie after a week Brownie bark at the door early morning.. Til 2014 sold all animals. Goats and small pygmy sold too .. I love ducks 🦆 and pygmy goats..
Oh no , I’m sorry 😢 but beautiful chickens still there and my sons has his chicken coop and ducks and turkey and pigs and 4 dogs with their 5 kids helping the farm as busy but they are homeschool
I lost 2 of my hens to the hawk. I tied several old disks to the string and hung on the long string from my front porch to the front of my garage and backyard,too. The hawks or owls couldn’t focus their “food” ‘cuz of the sun that caused the disks to flash out so bright. I let the chickens out freely when I went to work. No fence or coop. They knew my property line and they didn’t go across to my neighbors’ properties. We live in a small town. When it’s time for them to sleep, they’d go home early and slept. But if coyotes, weasels, or other predators may be problems, we didn’t have any of them since the farms were next or almost surrounded my house. 🤙🏼🌺🙏🏼💝🐔
@@samalouisaa we got home late (10 pm?), they didn’t get locked up after free ranging and something had gotten them. Feathers everywhere but no bodies. Probably coyotes. Was only 4. Now we have 11.
I’m sorry to hear that… I don’t like seeing you lose your chickens. I think it’s better to repair the chicken coop roof so that other wild animals can’t get in and harm them

Must be rooster attacks the owl to protect the hens.
Add more wire to the top so the owl will not catch it again.

Not easy to protect a roaster and the hens from predators. In the past, at my property, a weasel got them 🙄

Maybe it will help keep other owls away since they’re territorial?
We did have the fake owl set up but the predators got used to it and ignored it. 🙄
