best frames manual. subscribed in no time!! frames is such an underrated mutabel module. watch this video video couple of times and i bet you are gonna use your frames in the future!
The funny thing is I just bought an Emblematic Catalyst earlier this week. It's basically a eurorack version of the Octatrack scene fader. Then it hit me how Frames was ahead of its time. Catalyst is basically frames between only 2 points 🤯, where you can change the point with the press of a button. Frames is underrated (and probably not well understood), but I think it's capable of a lot more than we've realized. It takes a lot of creativity though to think about how to effectively use it.
@@ferrycollider everything emilie gillet does is genius. i didn't see a bad module yet weather analog or digital. i got blades couple of days ago and that damn thing is a killer.... she is a genius, thats it!!!!!
I kind of wish it accepted triggers to advance frames, rather than just cv. Or if there was a way to sort of quantize the frames so a ramped lfo would produce rhythmically precise frame changes. Maybe there’s a way and I’m not seeing it.
that is one of the available modes in the Parasite firmware. I highly recomend installing it :) you get basic frames and you can switch to 4 completely different modes, quad sequencer, shift register, quad lfo or euclidean sequencer. Frames is a very underrated module
Doable in standard firmware. Select an existing frame and hit Add 5 times, turn mod attenuator all the way up, send pulses to mod to step through keyframes.
Thank for the making the video, very informative. I just recently purchased a Frames clone (planks) and am trying to duplicate the cross fading between (2) audio sources you explain around 3:45 in your video. I am not getting the same results and just wanted to inquire if you made any adjustments to your interpolation curves as explained in the manual? Thanks!
4 years later, still super handy!
Smooth, non-stressing, beautifully structured walkthrough! Creds!
This is a really good Frames tutorial I have seen them all and this is the best. Thanks for posting!
I'm watching this like I totally follow everything he's referring to.
One of the best Tutorials out there. Everything is clearly explained You should do a Tutorial for TidesV2
This is a good idea, and since I'm on Christmas vacation right now, I think I"ll put something together.

dope video! i never learned about frames but now i super want one!
Thanks - I wanted to sell it in my early eurorack days. Now I found it in my box with modules I don´t use. I had no usecase but now I have :)
Nothing like reading the manual to make you go "ohh! that's what that does! it shall live for today!"
Thank you for an excellent explanation.
Thanks for making this.
Thanks!! Extremely informative& useful!!
Have you tried parasites firmware for frames? Thx for the tutorial
Interesting tutorial will watch more. Great post.
Excellent video! Only thing I still had to figure out was the delete button. ;)
Super well done!
Did I zone out and miss it or does this tutorial not even touch on "Fr Step"?
good overview

I was the second owner of the copy of Frames shown in the video. I dont recall adjusting it, but it could have been set by the owner before me.
Is their any clicks when morphing?
haven't ever noticed any (which I can't say of all my modules)
👍👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿
