The cycling paths are stunning. Is the lack of other riders due to the holiday or do not many people use them? Using Google, a paper map and a Garmin GPS in France still found us taking wrong turns.
Glad to see you finally made your destination! j&b

We always noticed the cycle paths were busier the closer we were to a bigger town. Around Mont Saint Michel was probably the busiest in terms of cycle paths during the day but early in the mornings and especially in the early afternoon it is really quiet in France in general. In both Brittany and Normandy we came across quite a lot of other people who were were cycle touring as well and once we got onto the EuroVelo 1 route it was really apparent that we were on a popular cycling route.
Trip navigation can be a fine art! For 2018 we used maps.me and were diverted down some very 'interesting' trails. In general we found the routing with RidewithGPS and Garmin to be pretty good. Ideally being able to really hone in on the route in detail to scrutinise it beforehand would be the best bet. Those pizzas and beers had with the goats at the campsite will live long in the memory from the day that just kept on giving! Bella
