Thank you. I know this video is 2 years old, but I just started with 2k23, and applying this (just on Pro difficulty) I holed one out of a steep greenside bunker and one off the fringe on two different events (I didn't come close to winning either of them--but those two sure felt like winning :) )
i am a speed golfer. slowing down to count squares and watch dotted lines is Not in my shot glass. i hit & sink most eagles and hole in ones with out trying, or using algebra to set up the shot. my short game is one of the BEST in the game. i am RjFord66, i post ALL hole outs and hole in ones, and are sharing them current replays on the games official page.
I think the biggest mistake is trying to hit a perfect shot every time. You can hit really good shots if consistently on the "fast" end or "slow" end, just know that it go a bit further or shorter or left and right depending which spectrum you're on. I mean its like real golf, if you feel like youre tempo is off by being a little too fast, then aim right slightly.
I can't figure out how to get that view when I'm setting up my chips and pitches. My view is always back from the golfer POV and even if I hit the preview shot, it doesn't take me to the more "aerial" view of the chip like what you're showing. What am I missing? Thanks for the tips, this has been the worst part of my game by FAR and I appreciate you going through this!
No problem Jason good name btw...If I understand you correct I think If your using controller and just use the left trigger it can zoom you out? Idk if this is what your referring to... or are you referring to hitting triangle and zooming into your landing spot? I believe you can also zoom out with trigger on that as well. Let me know if this didn’t answer your question.
@@JaggedGamingHub I'm having the same problem. The "scout camera" is on for every shot i.e. press the triangle (playstation controller) and the camera goes up high and you can move the marker in, out, up, down, left, right but when you get within a certain distance to the green (chips) and hit the triangle you only get a side shot. When you hit the left trigger the camera moves up over your players head a little and you can't move it in closer to the grid like you show in your video. Any idea of what settings to make this work?
Thanks brah, just got this and finding, by dar, the short game (chipping, pitching) the hardest thing in the game! Like I'm better in real life 😅 its how much the ball will roll out i struggle with then adding uphill/downhill makes it harder
I just wish all the in-game estimates weren’t total garbage. It tells me 10 yard carry with an extra 10 of roll. I hit a perfect shot, and it goes 8 yards with a 20-yard roll. 🙄 Why even bother putting on the screen then? 🤷🏻♂️
Play on baby mode like this. That's how. I've never even seen that meter. It's off from day one. The problem arises in about a 19 yard shot in 2K21. Splash goes to far and chip usually can be short. It depends on lie, elevation, break and etc. Swing skills should be more a factor. I can just bring the backswing back at a snail's pace. The backswing does still effect the forward swing, as far as tempo. HB doesn't tell you that. Try swinging back very slowly on a driver and you are more likely to get a fast forward swing. Take the club back very quickly and it's more difficult to get a "Fast" forward swing. Calibration and settings are a huge factor as well. I don't want to come close to making every chip. I'd never buy a game that I could even make 5% of all chips. That's not golf. We are very good at the game without cheating or using a mouse and keyboard, because we understand golf, play golf and know physics/math. All of this video should be common sense. These tournament courses online are tedious. It's all fast everything crap, because they understand that the human animal cheats whenever and wherever they can. Risk and reward, should be the game. Not modded controllers or cheats. This is a decent but, simplistic video for those that don't understand golf or the video game.
@Capnsensible80 I guess you go around evaluating men's genitalia. (That means penises for your brain.) You mean, as in someone who goes through comments and replies to comments randomly, not intended for them. You want to make it personal with a childish reply. Aww, upset about a golf video game criticism. Tough talk from a wuss behind mom's keyboard. How bold we are, when not on the same room. You'd wouldn't have the nut sack to do it in person. Don't you dare assume that I am a male. I know small and micro would be the word for you. Get another hobby besides reading others UA-cam comments. Your life must be full of wonder. It behooves society to have given you a better education. I don't blame you. Look in the mirror. Nobody who scans through comments on UA-cam doesn't look like a mutant and is successfully. You've wasted 2 min of my time in the bathroom. Captain sensible 1980. GTFOH with that holding onto the past. It's over. I left it behind.
I have 20 hours played and already make every single chip. This isn’t a tip a video was required to explain. It’s pretty standard in every golf game. Flop is way better than chip in 21...

Underrated video, thanks man!
I find pitch shots are by far the easiest for good holes
Great video dude! Liked and Subscribed! Keep up the good work!
What mode are you in where i can rewind shots?
It’s in the course editor
@@JaggedGamingHub thanks
I lay up for chips when the pins on the edge of a green.. I can chip it in everytime just about
This helped me a TON. Subscribed!
I don't know how you get swing long so straight
If you're within 8yds of the green you should always chip. Plus on average the ball always rolls about 6 yards once it lands on the green

Beautiful breakdown video for those getting into it. Thanks man 👍🏼
Wow these were the best tips I’ve watched

Limmy is definitely watching this
Genius!!!! Great breakdown my dude.
Thanks for limiting the preliminaries to 2 minutes, unlike some here who make it 5 before getting to the point…..l which was it, again???
Golf game Nick Kroll

I used this information and the FIRST chip I tried, I got it in the hole for a birdie to jump up the leaderboard!
anyone else think this guy sounds exactly like Dax Shepard??
Looks like and sounds like Nick Kroll to me explaining my shitty chip in game.
Thanks for the video
You resemble Nick Kroll
Great content but my man you need a new PC bc the choppy rendering is hardly tolerable. Thanks for the video this helped me quite a bit
gg, thanks for the tips
Shit literally still makes no sense to me
It helped.
Shut up nate..... your quality is fine. His shots broken.
I didn’t fucking work
