We just stock up when things go on sale that we are running low on. After awhile, you know what your family eats. If you keep different kinds on meat (vacuumed sealed) on sale at a good price, and tomato base for soups, spupnboullion flavoring, chopped and frozen peppers, onions, blanched potatoes, mushrooms, celery, pasta, & chili, tacos, pasta, canned goods, you are good to go. We don't menu plan. We get most items on sale at a low price. We save more by just buying on sale instead of meal planning. That way it is all on sale. Everyone has to do what works best for them. Merry Christmas everyone! Jesus is the reason for the season. He loves ya.🎁
Not really saving on grocheries but food: over the next few weeks till my wedding I am begining to stock up not only some staples (starting with a 100% empty pantry) but also frozen versions of the meals we eat out most often. Orange chicken and rice costs $4 for both of us vs $20 at Panda. Goal is eventually have a fully stocked pantry we could eat out of for a month (or longer), but the baby step of dramatically reducing our eating out is something I am very much looking forward to.
@@ciannacoleman5125 that’s where my husband and I struggled the most too was going out to eat often and wasting the food we had in our house. You are right though, this video was more about reducing food waste and being smart with what you do have instead of getting food cheaper at the store. So many saving tips are store specific and I was hoping to make a video that focused on concepts everyone could benefit from implementing. Congrats on your upcoming wedding 💕
@@kerryjames6312 chopping everything and freezing it as the ingredient has made cooking so much faster and more enjoyable. It is especially helpful come harvest season-my favorite is to chop peppers small to throw in. They freeze so well
Yes! I always wash them first and then it kind of depends on the vegetable but I dice peppers, onions, garlic, ginger, carrots, and then throw those in the freezer. Spinach and tomatoes I wash and then I just stuff in a bag. And beans you should blanch them prior to freezing.

@eileenspamer-kw3kz yes! Can’t wait to grow more this next year. I canned salsa verde, raspberry jam and diced tomatoes this year!
If you flatten that hamburger ,it’s easier to store.
@@Marie-h1f I tried to flatten most of them but then my baby woke up 😅 but yes agreed and also easier to thaw
Babies come first 😃👍
