Restored railroad: Wiscasset, Waterville, & Farmington Photo Charter - 8/14/2022

- On August 14, 2022 the Wiscasset, Waterville, & Farmington Railway operated a photo charter on the entirety of their railroad. This included the first photo excursion to Trout Brook and it used all original equipment. This video shows scenes from the newly opened section of railroad as well as several other spots between Alna Center and Top of the Mountain.
This railroad was abandoned in it's entirety in 1933 but since 1989 WWF Museum members have rebuilt 3.5 miles of original track within the town of Alna, ME. Nothing was left on site and everything was built from scratch or trucked back in. This line and museum's rebirth is truly a a preservation miracle.

What an accomplishment for the volunteers who had the vision to look back to the days when railroading was magnificent! Nice to also see the Ford Model A truck tooling around to complete the era in history. Thank you to everyone who made this project come to life. 🇺🇸
Alice would be proud to see her, former #6, now #9. engine running again
Great video sequence of our "Climbing the Mountain" photographer's special! Thanks for coming and sharing your results.
Very cool. It looks like a hobby or back yard railroad almost. Would love to see it some day.
Just like going back in time.
What a wonderful thing to bring back to life something I read about growing up as a modeler all these years and never believing it would become reality. Knowing it was all destroyed a long time ago and now is no longer a dream. You guys a doing a great job and I only hope when you get to Farmington this time you don't fail and connect to the SR&RL! ! ! ....... Wonderful video, Thanks ... George
The WWF is a fantastic museum. Probably the best in all of New England! They don’t stop and there’s always something new to see.
Great video. The newly opened section is the most scenic on the line.
