Julie Stepanek, who wrote this intro, was also lead singer for the band Calamine They haven't made music in decades, but if you liked this it's worth checking them out! They're on Spotify.
I watched this show as a grade schooler staying up late. I did not understand one lick of that show. Just a show about some random people inside some building under the sea, but with a kick ass theme song. I also watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but in the back of my head was the thought of 'wtf are these creatures?' and 'I don't understand this show'. I watched Adult Swim mainly because I thought I was being a bad ass rebel by watching a show 'for adults only'.🤦♂️
jeez this brought back a looot, the dolphin noise I need to watch this show now that I can appreciate it, we had it on dvd when I was about 4, i really liked the theme song but the show kinda bored me as a young child aha brings a lot of memories I forgot I had :)
OMG SAME. I remember seeing bits and snippets of it as a very young child. I too was bored by the show as a kid and honestly thought it was some kind of weird fever dream (until I discovered the DVD set). Also, Marco kind of scared me when I was at that age 😅
My childhood was ending, i was one of those ben 10 and tom and jerry old soul kids i would wake up at 5-6 while ky younger cousins showered and we all prepared for our departures for school id lotion my skin while the tv played miscellaneous shows i still remember the first time i came across this one the intro got me hooked i was in love and thankful for being awake at morning time adult swim i loved it so much that i went on google to find the play times for sealab and would stay up just for the intro to this day the nostalgia this brings me hits like a truck
Hell yeah. The golden age of Adult Swim. Love Calamine. I commented on one of their songs that I heard influences of Built to Spill and she replied confirming it. This theme is a fucking banger.
Shit brings me back to watching the original ADULT SWIM when they would have the old people swimming and SHIT. Man I was 12 years old watching that at 1230 am on a school night hahah good times. #CLASSSIC
This version of the song was used in the "Red Dawn" episode in season 3 which aired on adult swim 12/07/2003 however, it was originally recorded in 1999.
I also noticed that Dolphin Boy is slim in this Pitch Pilot. I'm glad he was fattened up in the official show, his chubbiness makes him look adorable. 🤗🐬
Its not really stealing if your the original brains that a show existed because of that’d be like saying psychicpebbles and the other guy who created smiling friends don’t have the god given right to take all of the unused clips and stills and such from after its inevitably canceled for some low effort trash and to reupload them online as they should be just like this clip its only a minute long but its still a little piece of animation history and deserves to be publicly preserved
One of my favorite contemporary punk tracks!
Beautiful vocals. “Would pay for a full version “
Exactly the kind of comment I needed

It’s just got that 90s Portland/Seattle sound we don’t get anymore, roachdawg.
Listen to the ‘The Tide - Pale Waves’, it’s the only reason I’m here. Just listened, it reminds me of this Intro every time.
@@tayt_ I did, and did not enjoy that song nor did I really feel reminded of this theme by it
Her voice is so angelic
indeed

They're all parodies of old Hanna-Barbera shows.
ya exactly that's exactly how it was
I rocked out to it too xD I think I was in Jr high
BIZZARO I LOVE YOU BIZZARO
It's 2024, and this is still really good.
The instrumentals with the official themes lyrics would be amazing
Sealab 2021 is still my favorite Adult Swim show to this day.
Athf is still better
I've heard that intro before!!!!! I finally found it!!! thank you 😁😁 this version been ringing in my head for years, I only heard it once until now!!!
+carterjeremy89 It's some way better (for me) than the released version. Maybe the pitch of the voice
***** Yea, it's the way they blend together, it reminded me a little of Archive. I loved how they sing in this version
Rogell Paradox this intro was used in the opening for "Red Dawn" in season 3 of sealab 2021
I noticed it. But still there is this pilot and, if it's hard to find it, I may upload
@@LennWeltmeister You could really hear the DIY-ness of the audio. Love it.

I LOVE IT!!!!
Best song ever, both versions are amazing.
"Lebeau? Apollo?" I literally cried out as I saw them, lol wtf
All Quin (or Lebeau) says during the episode is "oui, oui, lebeau" lol

I like this version waaay better
same, especially for the drums.
Yeah no
There’s no reason she needed to go as hard as she did. She did that for us, that’s true love my friends
Her voice do be making me feel like I'm swimming tho
All right, it’s 2021. Where’s our Sealab!?
in my pool
Underneath the water
Welp, here we are
Hell yeah. The golden age of Adult Swim. Love Calamine. I commented on one of their songs that I heard influences of Built to Spill and she replied confirming it. This theme is a fucking banger.
This makes love to my earballs
Her voice shines, and its still awesome [Dont ask about the explosive chinchilla strapped to me]
someone needs to make a 10 Hour Loop

1:05 Awww Dolphin Boy 🐬 he is just too cute 🥺
Saturday mornings on NBC in 1972!
WHY DIDN'T THEY KEEP DOLPHIN BOY IN THE CREDITS!?!?!
They should have. He's actually my favorite character in this show.
Its no wonder why ive been to rehab 4 times
5 now.
Quinn and Stormy have different names?
This is on the special features on disc 2 in the season 1 DVD set.
Broh 0:52 this part
timeless

This was the version of the theme played before, S3E8 "Red Dawn," the final episode Harry Goz voiced. I wondered where it came from. Now I know.
ive totally heard this version before on tv
I like this one better than the one that’s used on the show.
Im gonna cry :(
The best❤
This as on cartoon network 2000 ?
+Christhopher Cruz-Flores around it

Uhm... No one is made of stone. But she fkn rocks!!!
It's still a great theme
can someone loop this and make this song longer pls
Very cool 😎

I heard this from adult swim, i think
Please be kind? This intro is fucking perfect! =D
Any chance of uploading the episode?
Might try to do this, if Warner doesn't start with the copyright b***shit
*Oh boy.*
😳
Lebeau and Apollo? Glad those names didn't stick around. Quinn and Stormy are way better.
Lebeau: oui, oui, lebeau (i'm serious, he only says that)
😎
Rad as fuck
no fucking way
Sealab 2021 is the worst show ever
They ruined my childhood

Sea Lab 2020 because of covid-19

awesome ! I love both version but this has more vibe to it .. especially with the dj scratching on the end
That wasn't a DJ scratching, that was Dolphin Boy chirping.
Where is black Stormy. he's cannon.
