1. Hello Everyone. In this video we will unbox and test OnePlus 9. It’s released on 2021, March 26.
2. This is the Winter Mist color. Looks great. Accessories come with a transparent phone case, a type C data cable, and a charger adapter.
3. OnePlus 9 has corning gorilla glass 5 and 6.55 inches Fluid AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
4. Let's take a closer look at the phone's design.
5. OnePlus 9 features with Snapdragon 888. It has 4500mAh battery capacity and support 65W fast charging same as the 9 Pro.
6. Our version comes with Color OS system. Some Oxygen OS fans may not like it. But OnePlus has the reason.
7. OnePlus 9 is not the official IP68 phone. But the interesting thing is that if you get OnePlus 9 from T-Mobile it is IP68-rated. Is it true? Anyone got the IP68 OnePlus 9?
8. Let's turn to the waterproof test now!
9. There is oleophobic layer on the screen, water droplets can slide quickly across the screen.
10. Waving the phone in water. Everything work.
11. The next step is high pressure shower OnePlus 9 in 360-degree for about 3 minutes. Nothing happen till now.

Doesn't matter T Mobile and a standard are exactly the same build no difference
It was actually the China/India version with no wireless charging. You can notice the plastic cover has no indicator that the phone has coils for wireless charging.

Its not ip rated, because OnePlus skipped that to keep the price down. However, the pro version of that phone does have an ip rating

@@stangurule1017 i don't know if it depends from where you buy it, mine is from 07/april/2021 (you can check the date on the back of the red case it comes with) i received it a few days ago and it had the case, sold and shipped by amazon. From europe. I think you can ask your seller whats going on, unless they stopped putting the case in it which i doubt they did...

I just figured it out. They used to come with a case. I bet the waterproof rating included the case that came with it. T-Mobile gave me this phone to replace my Sprint Cat s48c. The sales person told me this was a IP68 phone like my Cat. He also asked me if I would like to buy a case. I said no because my Cat never needed a case in hundreds of drops with no screen breakage. Realizing the phone would never survive a drop I asked if he had a case for the phone. He didn't but I could get one on Amazon. There was one that did have a charger cover but it was fourty $. Yeah, one just like the one that use to come with the phone. Before I could get a case the phone slipped out of my pocket and the screen broke. I decided I wanted to turn the phone in but T-Mobile wouldn't accept it. Without the case this phone is simply a not water proof, fragile, piece of junk. Not what I need.
How dumb you've to be to compare a rugged military graded phone to a premium flagship phone.
the TMobile version already has a ip68 water and dust proof..the case has no effect to the waterproof efficiency
@@helaal92 complete lie. A video testing waterproofing showed failure. One meter 30 min, dis assembly showed water inside. Phone is a piece of crap.

Unfortunately I've tested the same phone in a glass of water. After 2 days on the camera lenses wazer drops appeared. It is not waterproof at IP68 level. Do not try it. Otherwise it is a very good phone.
The American version are ip68 water resistant

I'm so glad I skipped this one. Between the not so impressive cam tuning, the throttling, and now the subpar ingress protection, Oneplus really dropped the ball with this 9 series.
It's really not that bad. I daily drive a Op9 and the camera is so much better now. I did buy it in very cheap in discount ( around £400)
@@shahan1465 Yeah, I read from the forums that they managed improve the cam tuning through updates. The other issues I listed 9 months ago still stand though. I wrote this comment coming from the Oneplus 8, which has a stable chip and better build quality. I'm glad you're enjoying your OP9 though!
SD 888 in almost every phone has those issues, not a OnePlus thing, if you manage to keep it in favourable room temperatures i.e 25-30 degrees it performs far better than any other phone.

I have since owned 2 snap 888 phones and 1 8 gen 1 phone, and they all suffer from intense heating and battery drain issues. I now have a Dimensity 8100 phone (GT Neo 3), and I'm happy with the thermal and battery performance on this one.
@@somayough I've been a user of mediatek and i can vouch, they're supreme processors, and imo far stable than SD.
But what makes me stick to SD is the System optimizations, every app and game is SD optimized just like Nvidia in PCs.
And Mediatek is just left out, if mediatek made a processor as strong as a SD 8 gen 1, I'd surely be shifting lol.
Dropped mine on the first day and screen cracked in two places. The charge port is not covered so mud will kill it there. Nothing more than a girly phone fine for use in bed for texting friends. The thing is way to fragile. Do not buy.j

Not waterproof, fragile, really hard to repair. Like what a frigging pain to replace a screen which brakes real easy in the smallest fall. Replace the battery, you kidding. The thing is a piece of junk.
