    Landing the GENERATIONAL talent is what makes or breaks you ultimately! OSU has one Ole Miss doesn't and their seasons have played out accordingly. Other teams roster numbers are fairly close to OSU they just don't have Jeremiah Smith

    The Game has changed - 1) no more stockpiling blue chippers, 2) got to play Freshman early or redshirt them to prevent them shopping for $$ in Transfer Portal. 3) Tamper is the Rule of Jungle - don't get eat alive. 4) Change with the Times or become Yesterday's News Immediatley

    We should have 20-50 million per year for football NIL..we arent broke at here at tennessee whats the hold up.? Pay get the big players the stars to go with nico and win. But pay some big guys to protect nico or isnt gonna matter who we got playin WR if he doesnt have time to throw it to em. We gotta pay some guys to get after the QB and impact the game. Spend the money stop penny pinching and lets flex our muscles for the NIL WIN!!

      @nicholaswhitson3225 if it takes 25 million to be the top school why spend 50 millions but we need to spend the money it takes to be the NIL TOP Dawg if 10 million dollars is keeping us from the top spot why haven't we just payed the price ahead and collect on the backend. TENNESSEE being BACK for good should be the main GOAL!! We got the money at TENNESSEE spend it. They just spent over 20 million on a bridge in Knoxville we can afford the best football team with the star players on it too.

      @@ipackedyolunchfoolwe don't have the money that you thjnk we have. We were 8th in program income in 2023 and 18th in 2022. So, a program 10th in income should be spending ~10th, and that's about what most ppl think we spend on players. Adding to this, we are trying to be champions in 3 different sports... Most schools don't do that. So, alot of that football money is going to other sports .. just look at our $100M new baseball stadium being built. Overall, we just don't have as much money as some of these other schools.

      You have to do both, 50k ain't nothing. The top programs are doing it & with today's inflation that's like 25K just 5 years ago. I wonder how much our great collective is pocketing, because they usually get the most That's how every other collective works in this country...

      @ipackedyolunchfool День тому

      @thawizeman77 I get we need to pay our 1st & 2nd sting guys but why would we pay a practice squad player 50k.. then get out recruited out bid against every portal battle we face. Branch brothers and Thompson. It's happened more then that just 2 examples recently

      @@ipackedyolunchfoolthis is a very good question that I've thought a lot about too. Why pay a lot of money if you aren't going to play a guy? Well, most people would argue that injuries are why you need good backups. But, let's face it, if your WR1 and WR2 get injured, you aren't going to win anyways! If you have an $8M QB and then you pay $700k for a 92-rated Backup and $200k for an 86-rated 3rd stringer, what exactly are you buying with that 3rd stringer? To me, I would rather push all of my chips in on starters (and maybe the primary backup), but after that I'm getting unpaid walk-ons. There's no way you're going to win anyways if your starters and primary backups get injured, so you might as well just cut the losses on the season and move on. The one exception I could see is on RB, because (a) they're cheap, and (b) guys get injured their frequently (or need rest) and a 3rd stringer could still keep you in it.
      EDIT: I don't think we were ever getting Branch if MM came back.. he was the security blanket in case MM walked. We don't have that kind of $$ to get him, and I don't know that saving $$ on 4th stringers was gonna make up the difference. Maybe I'm wrong, but to me he was never gonna be here with MM.

      @@ipackedyolunchfool because I guarantee that OSU & UGA is paying everyone something with that 20 million their spending, it's the extra 5 we're not coming off of that's the problem. I guarantee we have endowments worth hundreds of millions of dollars just sitting there, but they want the fans to pay everything . When it was 1st talked about 50k per player was going to be the number, so that means 10 million per team roughly was expected. We're only going 4 or 5 nil above that number & the Big dogs are going 8 to 10. I don't trust the collective one bit. These agents & family members are taking advantage on top of that. You would think the no tax law in Tennessee would help... But something tells me the school & collective is trying to go the cheapest route. We have billionaire donors too. It's time for them to step up. Hell almost every coach in the SEC is making 10 million a year now. A mil is only 100k with the inflation of today compared to 1970. We need some parameters on spending but acting like they don't have the money is just a lie. They could have paid these players something for decades now. TV contracts alone could pay the players the schools have always been greedy!

    You sit and watch football games right~~
    You sit and watch tennessee football games right~
    Compare another teams offence to what tennessee runs and see if you can tell the difference between them~
    COMPARE OTHER TEAMS PASS ROUTES TO WHAT TENNESSEE WRS. RUN.
    HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED FOOTBALL
    AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL~~ COMPARE
    THE TWO DIFFERENT OFFENCES, JUST WATCH THE PLAYS THAT ARE CALL IN
    CERTAIN SITUATIONS AND TELL ME THE TRUTH IS THAT A PLAY YOU WOULD CALL~ IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED COLLEGE FOOTBALL YOU WONT EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUR WATCHING

      @@PrimeTimeVol87If we're donating money, I think we have a right to know where our money is going. Some people may decide not to donate if they see that a 3rd-stringer is making $150k... And others may have a player they like and would donate more if they saw he wasn't making that much.
