The reality is that you don’t make much money from delivering food and in order to make a decent amount you have to trade your time for money. This work is best as a side hustle not as a main income 👍
Couldn't agree more Gig! Those days are long gone! We had out run of making easy money during the pandemic... but this was at the risk of getting sick... its mad to think how much its changed since then
Why we aim for an HR rate!
I think it's only with it for you guys because you have a youtuber channel
Absolutely. Any local student jobs near me pay the minimum wage (which is £6.83 for being 18) so deliveries are a very good alternative.
Yeah this job been flip around a lot since pandemic.. even before pandemic you was able make decent and great money. During pandemic a lot people started making channels about delivery job.. free advertisement for those companies.. and now we are in stage where pandemic is over. Too much riders and companies can finally lower their fees per order. Regards clickbait videos.. didn't see a lot of those videos (3 hours £100) but I seen a lot of videos where people are making clickbait about something what is not in the video.. which is a bit annoying. However, I always said.. you can make good money.. it is just the way how you work. Not everyone is fast or good with maps.
Truly the most humble UA-cam I’ve ever seen.
The most thoughtful too 💕

Do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth?
London Eats: I do!
Nice that you did a reality check at the start. I am 56 years old, renovate properties as my main job, constantly have between 1200 and 1500 listings on ebay as my 2nd main job but having watched you, Gig Hustle, Atlanta Delivers and a few in America I signed up last year to do deliveries on my old ebike. The goal is to make enough delivering to buy a new one. I live in a small town, turn the apps on in the morning at home and just do the jobs from home as they come in (they are nearly all from supermarkets) and I've yet to accept an Uber job. I make about £20-£30 a day but for me it's more about keeping fitness levels up and getting out. I really enjoy it and think this is a great side gig for older people to keep fit. The money is pretty crap but the exercise is excellent.
Love the attitude! Kudos to you mate
The clickbait culture is rampant across YT so bravo for continuing to be honest and transparent
I love that you are open and honest with your work, and no clickbait titles or thumbnails. Respect
Big up London eats
its ticketable here to park backwards thankfully no one does it what a mind bender
1st time I've watched your channel as I'm thinking of doing deliveries part time .... really liked your content ... good and informative.. I've subscribed 👍
Not yet convinced by electric scooters. You can buy two 125cc scooters for the price of a single Nui. Yes, you have to put in petrol but they will do over 100mpg and there is no range anxiety. Oil changes are infrequent and they don't hold much. I have been riding all kinds of motorcycles for the last 50 years and I have never had to change a carb - in any case, they are nearly all fuel injected now so don't have a carb.
This is why I love your work ethic and this is why I have so much respect for you because you don’t click bait you don’t bs and don’t sugarcoat things
You are the reason why I love watching delivery videos. I'm in the USA and enjoy watching the maneuvering in london, keep up the good work.
You are very open and honest about your earnings - its clear how hard drivers/riders have to work to make a reasonable amount of money from your channel. Impressive that you do this as a side job - you're so hardworking.
With this delivery job, you have to put your time in for the money, so Friday I made £200 but I worked from 7am to midnight, that’s a long shift for £200, people that want to work 8 hours will struggle to make £200 in one day, you really have to graft for it, most delivery’s are around £3-£7, and you gotta take, insurance, and fuel out of that
My maths is probably wrong but at 30p per electric unit those little bikes are like 2p per mile in "fuel" that's crazy. Petrol is something like 20p/mile nowadays. 10x as efficient.
I know how hard delivery peeps work and it's not easy weaving through crazy traffic. I tell them 'no rush' because their life is more important that my food and I try to give them a nice tip
sooooo many speedbumps in this one
You have to take in consideration wear and tear on vehicle fuel/charging cost and your phone /Tom Tom then the dreaded tax unless cash in hand ?? Worth it I don’t think so but I’m sure it helps some people !!! Love the channel oh and to add £10000 worth of stuff like bags safety accessories bike accessories and insurance
I do the same job as you in America. I definitely agree with you about the payouts. I’ve had shifts where the $20.00 payouts for massive orders seem to come one after another. But I’ve also had shifts when I get 2 orders for $5.00 each. It’s all a hit and miss situation.
I used to have some really bad financial problems but that is all a bad memory thanks in part to food delivery. I worked my way out of a difficult problem and now I deliver food because I feel like it.
My biggest learnings from doing food delivery:
1. only work evening shifts (Lunch shift or working all day isn't worth it - 80% of your income will come from the evening shift)
2. Make sure you work on fri-sunday + other days when possible/bored/available.
3. Always work when it's raining, as there will be way more orders and way less drivers. This also often leads to increased pay due to bonuses etc.
So yeah, it's definitely best as a extra income on the side.
I have a feeling next summer might be a dealbreaker for a lot of us doing it as full time job
Agreed.
what do you mean?
@@tanqristhemostbest6108 because summer is when it is very quiet. Especially in university city's
what's happening next summer?
for some reason i got shared your channel . ive seen a few others since and out of all of them i think this is a canny channel you come across as genuine and truthful so i have subscribed
theres something so relaxing about all your videos, i can’t get enough of them
i like you as your not sly like the other drivers
Your a true grafter mate.
Bro ur the og and realist person on here.
Watching all the way from Hong Kong. I love how you capture the London street scapes and also the vibe of late night london
We have one of those Dark Kitchens in Birmingham. Very same design!
Another thing pepple might not understand is that to drive 2.1 miles in london is not a short distance. 8 to 10 miles can sometimes take over an hour to drive in london
Stay Safe 👍👍
I think you'll be earning more from your videos than your delivering soon, if not already. I love your content and like my own side hustle, it doesn't really matter how much you earn as long as you enjoy it - it's more of a hobby than a job 😘
According to socialblade, London Eats gets between £705 - £11.3K per year, so probaly gets about £6k/£7k ish a year which is not bad for making videos.
The irony is that, he needs to be out there doing delivery and filming himself doing delivery job shift, so that he can make content for his UA-cam channel.
Because, this UA-cam channel is about the food delivery gig economy. 😊
Well done mate I think u do a great job
Love the videos just came across your channel. One question did you call the kitchen a “Dark Kitchen “ ?
edit getting better and better
great channel man seriously! thanks for the vids
A tip mate: with your phone constantly going on charge with the quad lock, it really tortures the battery and will wear it out faster by constantly doing 99 to 100 over and over.
Luckily the Samsung phones have a "protect battery" setting you can turn on and it limits maxium charge to 85%. It doesn't seem like much but trust me it helps a lot with battery longevity and stability. You can also put in the quick settings near the wifi and bluetooth so you can turn it off or on depending on shifts and on need.
Legend! I never knew this!
Thanks so much!
I knew about this but I never knew you could put it in the quick settings, saves a lot of hassle...thanks
An average rechargeable battery can be charged 1,000 times. That's way more than a year. By the time the battery maybe starts giving you problems you will have changed your phone?
I let my iPhone run down to 20% then get my quad lock charge head charging it up.
You are right about getting the bike helmet on and going out and relaxing. I have a saying “Life always looks better from inside a bike helmet”. Whether it be work, or pleasure riding, it works for me
I would also like to see a longer version of the video between 8:50 and 9:10. Love it.
at 1:55 he should have finished that speech with "and now I'm going to show you how to make £1000 an hour - then cut to his friend giving him a £1000 tip for a coffee.
🤣🤣
You should move to Los Angeles. I think the tip culture in America helps make more money. I got a 45 dollar tip delivering 4 pizzas 2.5 miles down the street to the rich part of my area
tesco/asda sometimes has prime for £2
A potential idea for a video is to describe in details how the Über Eats and Deliveroo payment works. I am aware this technical subject is probably more of interest to couriers, but I guess you will notice huge differences in payment models of different apps when you go abroad later this year to record some videos of different platforms. It would be interesting to know how the apps you work with calculate distance; direct line or actual road distance, and are they using dynamic pricing models, or a fixed price for different distances? For courriers I think it is always interesting to compare and reflect how different apps work and how payment systems are very different to each other.
Just what I needed before heading to bed. Enjoyed the episode as usual mate. Hope you get your holiday booked soon!
I get why you use an e-bike, but would you ever consider something like a honda cub 125? I think they'd be faster which would help you make more deliveries.
I really enjoyed watching this again, thank you for showing me parts of London, it's always fascinating to see it, more so when I love to visit and have my city breaks there.
Great video and loved the editing & music!
The original & BEST UA-cam delivery channel!
For doing work that you enjoy at minimum of 70-90% of the time ..that's not bad for 4 hrs.
I 100% agree, I always make a solid amount per hour during the peak lunch and dinner hours but the rate significantly falls outside of those hours. It's super inconsistent and tough as a full time job.
Absolutely love these vids. I have the most respect for delivery drivers. Especially because of some of the stuff I have heard (rude workers, customers being difficult etc) working at different places
London eats I really appreciate you taking time making these videos man. I know its a lot on because you have your full time job as well so I really appreciate you bro making these vids as well. Your videos as such a pleasure to watch your a legend bro. Much love 🤜🤛
London Eats is super underrated, my respect for this guy🫡🫡
U really show us transparency because u log everything and show us… love your videos keep them coming. Doing it in Vancouver Canada is not worth it these days. Too many ppl doing it.
Friday this week I made £61 7pm - 10:30pm. Saturday I made £16.50 6:30pm - 9:30pm (bicycle).
Sometimes there's just not enough orders. Then you end up wasting your weekend and can't pay bills. It's not a job at all anymore, it's desperation. I think mopeds receive more jobs, but I'd never invest in one for delivery work, unless I was paid £12/hr 40 hours a week.
The padded lift is for when trades are doing work on the premises so building materials etc. don't damage the lift.
yep, that's why there was a sign saying a mirror was behind one area.
Although it isnt much. The main and biggest attraction to this side hustle for me is that all you have to do is press a button on a phone to start working. I think I would really like doing this. The only downside is I live in a town so naturally there will not be as many jobs for lets say like a city.
Yup love the run to de-stress too mate missing it roll on the better weather
Keep up with the excellent quality content
Bestest from Scotland 👋👋
As always great video, great editing and obviously what you’re saying is completely right and transparent
"Yes I work in London" as a baby blue stretch Hummer rolls past.
Love it!
Hahaha I spotted it in the edit, I was confused as I never saw it 😅
I ride in Nottingham for Deliveroo and Stuart. You can make £100 7 days a week, but you need to be working, on average, 9+ hours a day to be able to that. Not much of an hourly rate, but I don't think about it that way.
I truly respect how open and honest you are about the gig economy. I've never worked as a delivery person but I can totally see where you are coming from when you say it hard work and earning and you don't earn huge sums from delivery work. I also agree with the countless times you have said that one shouldn't do it full time. As a side hustle absolutely, you can earn some reasonable money on the side, but ultimately demand fluctuates massively and you never know how much you will earn.
Keep the videos coming, they give a great insight into this type of work and are really entertaining to watch.
I dont like the term gig economy when it comes to these sort of companies because these are not " gigs" . Maybe the term " gig economy" is used to provide the job with some fake glamour. In reality however you dont work gigs, you are an employee of a company which through clever loopholes doenst have to take almost any responsability at all. You just work for Deliveroo or Uber on very crappy terms.
@@MrCow579 Yes huge difference. You get none of the upsides and all of the downsides of working for a company. And when Deliveroo bans your account... Well good luck with your "freelancing" lol. There are now several countries where the courts determined that Deliveroo and Uber abuse legal loopholes and their drivers are just normal employees and should be treated as such. Of course the companies immediately stopped operating in these countries. Tells you all you need to know about their business model, eh?
thank you mate for showing us dark kitchen. i was always curious in what kind of enviroment all those burgers were cooked. so nice to see the kitchen of bronson's burger. looks really squeeky clean in there. anyway they are smashing it lately! its one of my favourite burgers in vauxhall. please try to record more in such kitchens. have a good one!
hence why I don’t watch them other channels only yours cause the others gass it up where as your content is real and factual no messing about
Love the videos as always
Would love to see more shifts from early hours of morning (12am to 4am) Its always interesting to see what places are open and what people are ordering in early hours.
9:47, the cat was just like: what is this new room before me, I have not discovered yet, but heard and seen about :D
Good honest advice about the earnings potential of food deliveries, even when you have lots of experience. I' d say cruise control in urban traffic is a no-no. Its a health risk. Keep to manual as you have quicker control. Stay safe!
Best video ever!!!!!!!!!
its better doing a full time job and then doing deliveroo on the side of your job as i do i do monday to friday in a full time job and then saturday and sunday i do deliveroo from 6 in the morning all the way through the night on both days and sometimes i do 8 hours after work to gain some more money for my self so basically am always working and only rest on selected days
Thats why I like you and Gig Hustle, no Bullshit you just tell us how it is! I was thinking of jacking in my It job and doing Uber Eats full time. But recently all I see is people complaining there are no orders and its quiet on UE, and as energy bills go up again in April, think it will get even quieter!
I can’t get food delivery’s where I live. But the way I was raised I always tip people who go out of their way to help such as delivery drivers and other services like haircuts and mechanics etc. blows my mind that people have food delivered and don’t tip
Respect this bro keep grinding
Great videos man, everytime you upload a new one I can see your editing is improving. Also, apreciate your honesty about how hard work it is, I have a friend who also does it in London and there are nights when it’s a struggle for her to even reach 70 pounds. I’m thinking of doing the job as well and it’s good to have a realistic view of what it is like. Anyway, cheers from Brazil, take care and keep warm out there.
Great watch thanks 👍🙏
I've done Uber eats when I was student in Melbourne as it was flexible around being s fulltime student. And I also do it as a side hustle and emergency job so I don't need benefits if I'm between jobs. But when you have to do this fulltime your as your primary income you might be better off working for a stable salary for one of the restaurant and doing this as a side hustle honestly. It is so unreliable and then as a free lancer your are paying revenue tax and then income tax on whatever you are making at least in the Netherlands.
The padded lift is to protect the mirrors and walls of the lift, as I imagine it's a newly built apartment. Residents will be moving furniture, tvs, beds etc.
Love these man
love your vids and the hard work you put in massive respect for the job u do. keep up your brill work.
man when you go on holiday you should do a little holiday vlog, would be cool to see what you get up to when you're not working.
At least u read the directions the deliveroo drivers round grays either can’t or don’t read them so they go to 79 downstairs every time instead of round the back like the instructions say
Today I sat for 2 hours before getting an order. It really hurts the average hourly rate. 😢
Love these evening videos.
Big respect for your honesty brother & no false advertisements!
Onto the next 😎
Like & subscribe 😁
Fried pizza, reminds me of Glasgow.
Appreciate the honesty. Best content on yt here rn
I didn't even notice your upload schedule was wild, I just look forward to the next vid
the big john clip caught me by surprise and had me laughing - keep up the quality edits!
Boshhhhhh
I find your vlogs very calming 👍
I think £50 3x a week is a great income for a side hustle that still allows you outdoor time
Hi like ur bike its nice im looking to get one but i dont know where to buy one
Crazy you de stress by riding around London 😂 enjoying the videos keep up the good work bro!
I find it kinda funny that he is so thankful for a one pound tip, meanwhile here in the US delivery drivers wont even pick your stuff up if the tip aint more than the order or is less than like 10 dollars.
Seems like the tip culture entitlement in the US is getting out of hand :/
Seems like the more hours you put in the bigger the rewards if you don’t mind cruise in around in a bike/motorcycle even car as a hobby then you can work and make as much as you want depending on how much you want it you come easily make 700 quid a week if you put the effort in no?
The best part is where there were 3 bells and you pressed all of them xD I do that too when people don't indicate wich one is theirs. Sometimes they're like 'oh yeah that's my roommate, I'll bring it to them' Thank you so much #bolt
Hello mate nice bike could you tell me how is it called what model is it ;) thanks
Love your videos G much love from AZ
Respect for telling the truth. It’s not all sunshines and rainbows 🌈
have you ever thought about delivering in different areas of London? Would love to see how it is in the other areas also just a bit curious about what delivering is like in my borough. Anyways love the vids!
Same! I’m dying for him to deliver in north London
Safe bro i dont know why delivering food is of such entertainment for me but i love these vids I legit save tour vids until i have dinner, you are my goto "Watch when eating dinner" channel and I've loved seeing you revolution as a youtuber from a couple years back. Please keep doing what your doing! The way I treat delivery drivers have completely changed since watching your videos. I know now its not as simple s pick up and take to the customer.. Sometimes your waiting ages for the food which sucks because I always though "oh they're just sitting in their care waiting for the latest possible time to deliver" I've learnt that delivering food can be tough and at time you could be to blame for things that are without your control so... All respect for filming your service and teaching people like me to go easy on delivery drivers and not pushing for a refund it's 2mins late lol
You're gonna end up with 1mil subs trust me I've enjoyed watching your journey as a youtuber and please keep being you I can tell you're probably quite introverted like me so well done for doing what you do. As an avid fan i cant wait for your next upload and please take it from me, something as simple as filming your shift of delivering food can have such a huge impact on someone (positively) so although I'm a random stranger to you.. please know i respect you and look up to you keep the polite easy going guy you are because the world needs that!
- From a top fan!
Absolutely spot on the truth! It’s very hard to make money by doing deliveries. The truth is it remains as a side hustle and not as your main income. Good content
Yes ive come to the realization that only New york city is the big leagues where you make big money.
Your doing amazing juggling everything bud 🥰
Love watching your videos
