    Sadly I can't give much input what/how to improve the thing but please continue. Just fascinating and very well explained. Thanks Pawel

    My notifications today just said "2 new videos by Pawel Spychalsky" while with other channels who publish only one video per day, I see the title and the thumbnail. It's amazing that this contraption flies. Now it's time to somehow freestyle it!

      Not that I want less videos but maybe that hurts your analytics somehow?

      I also publish not more than once a day. Probably 2 days were combined into a single notification

    Love your work! Great project, keep the bizzare builds coming as they often give us learnings that help with more traditional builds. Id like to see this one with dual servos top and bottom.

    Well... It won't win any races nor any beauty contest... But it flies. 😬
    Great work, Pawel!!!

    I don't have any experience with bicopters but they have always fascinated me. I think VTOL would be a fan favorite project. But whatever you do I'll probably watch it... 😂😂

    I would like to see someone attempt a collective pitch quad using 450 size heli heads with the full size rotor blades but using the full swash capability to tilt the whole rotor head as well as controlling blade pitch, it would be a massive but very powerful beast. Someone would need to write a custom variant of firmware to make it work but im sure someone out there could do it and a lot of custom code has been made for Ardupilot for other vehicle type, ground effect craft for example.

      Cyclic control will probably respond faster for pitch and roll than relying on tiny servos to move the motors (those props have a fair amount of momentum)!
      Collective control would DEFINITELY work faster than just motor speed for thrust.
      I wonder if changing the weight distribution would also help stability...
      Having the weight distribution of a dumbell should cause it to respond slower to inputs (human AND environmental).
      I can't tell where along the "body" the flight controller is mounted but if it's not very near the CG that will also cause weird stability issues. For example, if the FC is too high then a pitch forward will register a smaller change in angle than it should on the pitch "gyro" while the accelerometer would sense an acceleration forward.

    Put your battery near the bottom to improve passive stability.

    • @FPVUniversity
      @FPVUniversity 2 роки тому

      It does not work like that. CG is where it's supposed to be in this setup when both motors are tilting

    Your amazing on brainstorming the stick! I wonder is lightening quick servos would help significantly? It looks like it flies like my eachine Racer that was flying with cc3d fc on Libra pilot.

    Rather than controlling your thrust by simply adding thrust from no thrust, can you program a Microcontroller to always maintain enough thrust to keep the stick buoyant & control altitude by adding or subtracting thrust?

      I never wanted to have too much going on at once, so only manua altitude control

    Could the conterweight at the bottom be slightly heavier and is it posssible to change the servo at the top for better control with having it's own digital gimbaled axis without a servo? Fascinating project and interesting results! Or.... just get a well trained dog to fetch!! this cool stick! ;)

    • @FPVUniversity
      @FPVUniversity 2 роки тому +1

      There is no counterweight. This is not a pendulum. It's not pivoting around propeller

    • @alexkaiser4569
      @alexkaiser4569 2 роки тому

      You absolutely want the center of mass evenly between the propellers on a craft like this.
      Having the weight off center would mean the top and bottom motors would have different effects on attitude which can be adjusted for but why make things harder on a prototype than they NEED to be.
      I do think that changing the weight distribution would be helpful. I just think that concentrating as much weight as possible at the motors will help improve stability.
      If it takes longer to turn then the speed of the servos is a little less important to stability.

    Hmmmm yes; what is it good for? I remember when lasers were first developed and were called a solution without problem. Not sure if your bi-copter will become as essential as lasers are but who can tell? A 100% stable one would be ideal for looking at the walls of drill shafts in HD without the need of cables.
