Ultima did have a point on 10:45 because if Gojira dies, they all die. Gojira is their life force. Hence, why Gojira solos every Godzilla. Without Gojira, there is no Godzilla franchise, so of course, him going back allows the fight to keep going because if any other Godzilla dies, it doesn't matter. They keep existing.

He's benevolent, but that doesn't mean he's nice. Humans are insects to the titans, so he couldn't care less if a few thousand die due to being in the crossfire in a fight, even if he does care about them. As far as he's concerned, humans can replenish their numbers and rebuild quite easily. As for him being a tyrant, being king isn't sunshine and rainbows and singing "Kumbaya". He's not an actual tyrant like Ghidorah, but he's not too forgiving either. Scylla had already twice gotten in trouble with him for attacking nuclear facilities and using that radiation to strengthen herself for a bid for the throne, and Godzilla repayed her for her treason in Rome when she was on strike three. Tiamat was also collecting energy for a bid for the throne, or at least so she could turn renegade. Kong is a different story. He and Kong basically had peace in GvK, but that was it. Kong would serve as King of Hollow Earth and stay there while he ruled the surface. Kong's alpha call in Cairo, with the Iwi calling out for war against Skar King, made Godzilla assume Kong had turned against him and sided with Skar King. As for his near death at Mecha in GvK, he was panicking. He feared for nature, yes, but also himself, he's not an altruist. He's the last of his kind, with the Gojiras born to rule the Titans.
