Wow bro I can't believe this. I figured Marshall was untouchable like Fender. This is sad news, I hope they don't run the brand into the ground with a bunch of low cost crappy amps. I'm not holding my breath though.
I'm with you, bro. I'm hoping I don't walk into a Target and find a beach towel set by Marshall amplifiers with a JCM800 design. I knew things were going to change when Gibson got bought out and Mesa followed soon after.
It is what it is. We shouldn't be emotional about it. Marshall made the greatest amps ever, but this was a long time ago. Mine was built in 1967, go figure! 🤣
I can't wait to buy a Marshall electric toothbrush and hopefully Alexa will be installed in all amp heads. Yeah, I'm with you, Louis, this is bad for the industry and clearly a pattern. I pretty much buy only vintage gear at this point, but I hope the legacy is upheld. So many of the big names are just shell companies now, even artists are having their entire catalogs purchased by dark entities like Black Rock. Weird times...
The market is oversaturated with amps and cabinets who are too heavy bulky and expensive vs darn cheap tonemodels and IR's...within 10 years, the amp business is done and over.
I would say in my opinion that if making trinkets and such increases revenue and profit for Marshall, and allows them to stay in business and grow, I don’t mind at all. Maybe they will continue to build exciting and awesome amps. Perhaps fulfill my dream of JCM2000 DSL reissues! It works for brands like Harley, etc.
I have been wondering for a while what new amp models were going to come out after the jvm series , would have been awesome to see a new jcm series!! Oh well😪
@@louistorres They already have a manufacturing facility in Vietnam. What makes you think they have any plans to move more production to China? You’re a good 5-10 years out of date as far as that kind of move is concerned.
Life is like a box of chocolates, you'll never know what you're gonna get. That's what I think about this, and other events like this. But hey, it is what it is. Otherwise, I like the plaid grill cloth on that Marshall JCM 2000 head back there, it's looks really cool.
Looks like no more Marshall amps for me. The legacy is over. Maybe. But I definitely won't put the same trust into an amp company that isn't run by the Marshalls anymore. I get it. I want to retire and live well someday too. And I get that. I'm just going to be happy with my JVM and be glad I have a couple great Marshall amps, and start buying EVH stuff. It's the only way to go for me
So does this mean the newer JCM800's will have a built-in cup holder, beer cooler and cigarette lighter? An old friend of mine gave me one of those Marshall key holders for my birthday a few weeks ago. I'm still trying to figure out what the fuck ti do with it.
These vids are mega hyperbolic. Marshall/Fender/Gibson/etc aren't pushing boundaries anymore, if they are owned by holding companies that want to expand the lifestyle portion of the brand, as long as they retain the normal products its not that big of a deal. The JVM is as feature complete as you might want an amp, would just be nice to have it contain higher quality components. Mesa being bought by Gibson is a bit more concerning to me than this, but wake me up when Dave Friedman sells his company, otherwise I'm sleepin soundly.
Zzounds financing has helped me obtain gear i never would've gotten without. Hope they do well with the Marshall stuff. Marshall hasn't been doing anything anyways.
Back in the day the amp you wanted was a Marshall. For the money there's alot of other options now. Don't get me wrong I played alot of shows with my old jmp. Just not the direction I would go these days for the money and options of a new amp. Another fine episode Louis! Marshall gear sold at Walmart next?
Isn't that sad. You and I remember when Marshall was MARSHALL! When everyone wanted to be Marshall! Now they'll all be built in China or Indonesia. Price won't budge but quality will be awful.
When you say ‘for the price’ I guess you mean in the USA? Because in the rest of the world they cost about a half to two-thirds what you’re paying, which means they’re still a great option for many.
No one has ever given me a reason to buy one. Hard to sell a Marshall JCM 800 for an amp made by a company that hasn't been around longer than my Adidas sneakers. :)
When I remember correctly was Blackstar founded by Marshall engineers who weren't happy with the way Marshall went. I didn't know the brand either, first heard them at a Ozzy show and was blown away. These amps sounded like old Marshalls on steriods. I own a JCM2000 TSL100 head, so I never tried a Blackstar amp, I got a amp and don't need more. But some friends of mine sold their amps (Marshall, Engl and Peaveys) and bought some Blackstars.
Dude, a Marshall lunchbox would be dope! But marshall merch at hot topic might be a sign of the apocalypse
Hahahaha! Lunchbox!!!

Hell yeah, I'll buy that Marshal Vibrator/Bong/Amp combination!
HahahahahahahahA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comparing Marshall to Gibson is pretty spot on. Marshall has always been the Gibson of the amp community to be honest.
Yeah, I pretty much feel the same way. Sad news IMO.

Man I would love to walk into Cracker Barrel and score some Marshall sneakers!! 👟 😂
Lmao! That would be hilarious!

You know Dave sold to Avi at Boutique a long time ago, right? Just like Soldano has.

I'm holding out for the Marshall toaster. Nutella branded Marshall toast baby!!!
