Dodge if you’re reading these comments. We want a high-performance small block V8 hemi. With an option for a manual transmission. And a weight reduction for 3500 to 4000 pounds max. The electric charger is not what the people want. Tesla already has the market cornered.
The rear seat room is hugely exaggerated, if you notice after the seat goes forward and he pulls the drivers seat back up the front seat does not go backwards to the position it was in and makes it look huge in back but only leaves room for a 4 foot driver 😂. I say no thank you for many more reasons long before that misrepresentation.
You actually hurt their channel by not giving a thumbs down, the algorithm doesn't care if it's a thumbs up or down, leaving nothing actually is worse than giving a thumbs down.
What is it that you don’t like about the video? Is it because he didn’t totally trash this car and hurl insults at Dodge? Or did you want to dislike it because he approached it like most vehicles with a mixture of objective information and subjective opinions? Or did you want to dislike the video because this channel dared to review such a car like this? It’s one thing to have an opinion about the product itself - good, bad, or otherwise - but in the end, it’s a video. A video talking about a product, like the hundreds of videos before it. My guess is that you wish it could have taken a different direction, maybe. I don’t know. However, here’s an opportunity to explain yourself. And if you can do so without throwing insults and putdowns towards me, that would be a plus!
Mopars use to give you big power at the lowest possible price point.Who in there right mind would pay this much for an EV trying to imitate a gas powered car because its too slow to compete with other EV's in its given price point.
The only issue I see is the "too slow to compete with EVs at it's price point" argument. You buy an $80k "muscle car" you want it to go toe to toe with just about anything on the street. Idk what they were thinking dialing in less than 800hp.
There's nothing controversial about the fact that as soon as Stellantis announced "no more V8s" their sales fell off a cliff and have never recovered. We all tried to tell them that it was brand suicide. I think with recent news that's been coming out it seems like they are finally listening.
Their V8 models weren't exactly selling like hot cakes. There are currently over 2000 brand-new V8 Chargers and Challengers for sale despite production ending a year ago. Those should be long gone if all the enthusiasts going on about how great the HEMI is were right.
Maybe. What sound should it make to back up, then, because EVs are essentially silent? They're required by law to make SOME sort of sound moving forward too so pedestrians can hear them coming.
Someone will buy the profitable assets. Likely that Ram and Jeep will keep going, under different ownership. Hopefully not Chinese, given what they've done with some other brands lately.
Absolutely not a muscle car, not sure how that is debatable at all considering it doesn't have a V8. It is literally trying to be something is isn't, and the target audience ain't having it.
I can't believe they made it bigger and heavier than the old one. They could have made it a little lighter and smaller and dropped in a mod-ready 5.7 V8, which would have avoided the gas-guzzler tax and the overall penalties.

A very handsome design, inside & out! The 2-Door Charger is overtly overdue, about time! Just have mixed vibes on the electric motor & the ICE should have been a genuine V-8 Hemi, which to me is the kick in the nuts.
Wow, a lot of hate for the new Charger on here. As the owner of 3 V8 powered vehicles (including a Hemi) and an EV6 GT I'll play devil's advocate. I like the design, I like the performance, I like the space and the practicality of the hatch back. I also give huge kudos to the design and material upgrades to the interior. I even think 250 miles of range is fine for anyone who has a home charger (that's what my EV6 GT manages and it works for my family). Stellantis is a global company and I think we all need to realize the pressure these automakers are under to adapt to new regulations. The fact that there is a gas version coming I think is a smart play. What I won't argue though is the price. Who can afford these cars?! I was at the dealer yesterday getting an oil change on my Ram done and the new 2025 version of my truck was sitting on the lot with a sticker price of $108,000 CAD!! I'm assuming this electric Scat Pack Charger will be $100,000 CAD vehicle. Crazy!
I think the Klaus Schwab’s of the world are signaling to us that only the 2% will be able to drive in the future. I think the rest of us will hop in pods.
As an Ev6 owner myself, I'm also a car guy and I love traditional muscle cars. I love the old Chargers and I think this looks great. I think the hate comes from people not liking/wanting/understanding an EV. Plus, I adore coupes so it's very nice to see one for sale. That all said there are two big negatives. The price obviously, which is across the board for all new Evs (which is why I saved 25k buying used). Also that size is waaay too long. I think the Ev6 at about 184 inches is long imo, but to make this coupe even longer is crazy.
@@floydcooley1 I like this vibe shown here and your EV6 analogy to this car. I will add the 100KWh battery pack takes up size, I am a Lyriq owner and the KW output needed to achieve 600+ HP pretty much dictates the battery size here. Releasing a car with a sub-200 mile range is unthinkable in this market. Stellantis is very late to the market on this, the price is a problem even the RT starting at $62k (US) is too high to enter this market with. The EV hate is brutal from people not liking/wanting/understanding that this is just a car. Stellantis marketing should have understood that the performance should speak for itself, the fake noise is a distraction.

Ugly as hell is overreacting but also personal opinion so that's debatable. Although people seem to love the style just off this video alone. And you are also more autarc. In a war situation, the enemy would go on the infrastructre. But with decentral solar power in your roof, or other buildings.
You could still drive a cool car and teavel to a save spot, even if no gas would be available.
So it has benefits. And it's cool 😎👍
Just because you disagree with Tommy doesn't mean the video wasn't well done. It was meant to be informative and that's what it was.
The ev versions will probably sit on the lot for a long time
Gas one too no one wants a l6 v8 or nothing
We’ll see. A war will shoot gas prices up stratospherically and dealers may ask double msrp for the electrics. Hard to say where it’s all headed.
@@mcsike7264 No one wants the V8 - there are currently over 2,000 brand-new V8 Chargers and Challengers for sale across the US. Not great for cars that ended production over a year ago.

Rich people toys, that's all these are. Not practical for anyone else. And actual enthusiasts will go after actual muscle cars.
Has any coupe ever been practical though? 😉
I get where you're coming from, but I _really_ disagree. I think this and rich people will be like oil and water. Did you see who used to buy these? They, uhh... weren't rich...

I agree, I’m already priced out.. I had a new 2019 Challenger GT plus and I was in love. I would lease another Dodge product but the price is crazy.. I can lease so many other cars under 50k total price include title taxes and fees (price cap imposed by wife)

Fake man
Funny how people complained that the last gen Mopars were too big and heavy. So they made them much bigger and heavier. Brilliant. Having a modern Hemi, even if that happened, will not save these.
SMDH the fake engine noise may be the stupidest thing ever done to a modern vehicle, the ICE models better launch soon
This is the cringiest feature I've ever seen on a car. The fake starter noise and piped in v8 noise. I can't even wrap my head around it. No wonder the company is dying. Barely 220 mile range. This thing is such a disaster. It's going to fail just like the hornet. I'm at a loss for words. All for only $82k

@@aussie2uGA at least the fake sounds are on the inside of the Ioniq 5, so if the driver wants to annoy himself he is welcome to. But putting the speakers on the outside to annoy others with fake sounds, I am not a fan.
It’s honestly embarrassing. The noise screams fragile ego and if the video is accurate at all also just sounds bad. It sounds like a really bad recording played through cheap speakers of a v8. I pray people can and will turn it off
They killed this car with the pricing. The brand just doesn’t have the reliability to be asking this much for this car. It makes me really afraid what they’re going to try to squeeze out of the ice model. It’s going to be one big cash grab.
An EV trying to sound like a V8 is just as strange as vegan food trying to look like meat. It's almost like it's embarrassed for what it is.
THE TIMES ARE CHANGING 💥
Yeah, I'd have a lot more respect for the car if it embraced electric power rather than pretending to be a V8.
Dodge if you’re reading these comments. We want a high-performance small block V8 hemi. With an option for a manual transmission. And a weight reduction for 3500 to 4000 pounds max.
The electric charger is not what the people want. Tesla already has the market cornered.
Just going from EV to ICE will give you close to half that weight reduction.
This is how Dodge went from Metallica to Manilow....rest in peace

Or did you want to dislike the video because this channel dared to review such a car like this?
It’s one thing to have an opinion about the product itself - good, bad, or otherwise - but in the end, it’s a video. A video talking about a product, like the hundreds of videos before it. @g… The bottom line.
I like the styling not the lack of V8
That simulated exhaust is ridiculous and a little disturbing.
Maybe. What sound should it make to back up, then, because EVs are essentially silent? They're required by law to make SOME sort of sound moving forward too so pedestrians can hear them coming.
Maybe walkers should stop looking at phones to pay attention to surroundings
Sounds like a rocket starting up with a bobcat in the driver's seat 😂

The issue with 2 doors is how long the doors are. If you park in parking lots, it's much harder to get in and out with the much wider door swinging out.
With the awkward proportions of the 2 door, I'm not sure why they bothered. The 4 door is bound to look better.
206 inches long; exactly the length of my '71 Charger. I do love the styling of this new one, especially the fender line that disappears at the door while a new line starts at the door and continues to the rear of the car. My '71 has a similar treatment.

Agree entirely. The car is nice enough but way overpriced. You'd either have to be raking in seriously big bucks or be utterly incompetent with money to buy one.

looks great, but they could've avoided all the negative press if they released it first with ICE -hybrid options, and then came out with BEV later.
Ugly as hell and electric! I'll keep my 2023 Challenger! I can fill up in less than 5 minutes and be on my way. The "new" gas motors have a ton of issues...... good luck with them! 😆 The previous gen was retro looking on the outside and inside as well.
Be honest, the last one was based on the 1997 W210 platform. It wasn’t retro, it was just old.
Ugly as hell is overreacting but also personal opinion so that's debatable. Although people seem to love the style just off this video alone. I think if you HAD to change the style from the previous chargers this looks great. Just wayy to heavy and current battery tech cannot help them in that department.
