- After being hunted to extinction in the UK 400 years ago The Cornwall Beaver Project brought beavers back to Cornwall in summer 2017 thanks to the public who supported our crowdfunder campaign. The project is a partnership between Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Woodland Valley farm and the University of Exeter.
This film by Nina Constable Media tells the story so far...
What an amazing work you guys do! 😍
I love rewilding projects like this. I live in Australia; once a species has gone extinct you can't get them from anywhere else. They are gone forever.
Outstanding news that's fantastic 👍
the beaver is the coolest animal alive
Great to see very interesting
Fantastic
Where is your English accent? Where did the beavers come from? Is there a difference between European and American beavers? We have a slow moving river by my house and driving home one day I saw a beaver walking up a little hill, on the side of the entrance ramp. The beaver didn't appear to have a care in the world, and this entrance ramp, is on the far side of a 6 lane highway.
This is Castor fiber, the Eurasian beaver.
His accent is English.
Genius!
Beavers are normal. Hunting them to extinction is not. Way back then in history the concept of extinction was not well comprehended, as if a species could resurrect. Thus the near extermination of so many animals could go on without discussion in documented historical times. Glad to see some degree of repair.
If Beaver went extinct in the UK 400 years ago, how close genetically are these beaver to the original native species?
It's the Eurasian beaver, Castor Fiber
The farmer moaning about flooding, when it’s farmers clearing the land of trees for their cattle is the problem 🤦♀️
Beavers
Leave it to beaver.
This just makes me SO happy!

Hi Adam 😀
@@choncord Hi, who is this? I love surprises.
Love to see that first release!! AMAZING!! Very, very emotional viewing....Thank you for sharing and please keep the updates coming!
As a videographer I‘m in awe about the high quality filming and the message that can be transported by that powerful medium. I‘m trying to apply what I learnt to my own project that includes the local beaver population in the Munich area.
Los restauradores de ríos.👍
Could we please have an update? Especially in relation to flood mitigation. Thank you.
More , more more bevers there
Better than the beavers is the happy farmer!
Fcuk the farmer, he’s in the animal cruelty industry
