    Ciao! I also like using Idealista. I have been searching for that perfect apartment in Sicily along the sea for my move this spring. You explained things very nicely for those that are new to this. For my apartment in Florence I found it on Housing Anywhere. They have mixed reviews but my situation turned out just fine. Grazie, Paul in Firenze

    Hello. Is the need to find an apartment that allows residency applications only applicable to those who are non-EU citizens, ie. those who require a visa, or must All long-stay tenants officially register their place of residence? I guess the question is, what do you mean by residency? When you talk about residency, are you referring to residency in Italy in general, or at a particular address? In Germany, where I'm currently living, it's required to register one's address (to 'anmeldung') with each new apartment move, is this what you're essentially referring to? Thanks.

      Yes - you need to be registered at an address in Italy and have that registered with the local comune - this is what I’m referring to.

    Ciao!! I really like the video very informative :)
    I have some questions:
    Am I able to split the rent with say a friend or two ? How does it work is there a specific requirement or the landlord needs to be OK with it?

    • @MsBritaly

      Thank you! It all depends on your contract and the arrangement you have with your landlord. Your landlord will usually need to be made aware of who will be living in the house with you.

    Please explain "claiming against residency", and by room number do you mean number of bedrooms? Thanks

    • @MsBritaly
      @MsBritaly  Рік тому +1

      Room number is the number of rooms in the apartment (usually excluding the bathroom). In terms of residency - if you need to be a resident in Italy, you have to register at your comune with a contract that supports this. If your contract states - not for residency purposes - you will be unable to register your residency at that property.

    I wonder if for British citizens renting has got harder after Brexit; I' pretty sure it might be for owning properties in EU countries.
    That would be an interesting video and I guess you've experienced the whole process before and after Brexit effects started.

      I think it’s always a little trickier if you’re not an EU national to rent, because you have a lot of things to prove - namely income etc. Renting is also something that can be difficult because Italians are nervous when it comes to renting their homes and often they prefer to rent to an Italian/EU citizen rather than anyone else. This comes down to a lot of factors but predominantly because the process to evict tenants, if there are problems, is a long one.

    Il problema in Italia è chi ti metti in casa in affitto perché poi non è facile mandarlo via se non paga. Per questo ti chiedono caparre affitti anticipati referenze e adesso molti si affidano ad agenzie che ti assicurano eventuali danni o altro. Altrimenti te lo compri l'appartamento ti fai un mutuo.

    hey, can you share some tips on how to reserve homes online on idealista? i have been trying for almost two weeks and when i find a place, i immediately message the owner, but hardly any of them see my message. also there are no cancellation policy explained on their website. there is alot of good options on there but also seems impossible to reach
    i would appreciate if you help
    thank you!

    • @MsBritaly
      @MsBritaly  Рік тому

      I have to say that whenever I have seen a home on Idealista, the owner has always responded. It may be that the home is no longer available - sometimes there can be a delay in listings being updated. When you say reserve - do you mean arrange a viewing? This site is for longer term/short-term rentals or to buy properties but it's not like an AirBnB site - so there isn't a cancellation policy.

      @@MsBritaly oh, thank you for the clarification. i mean't to find a place for my first month there, and look further in person for long-term. so my only option for short stay is airbnb?
