    My dad taught me at the age of 10 about this. How to walk so I'm not appearing like a victim. How to enter a room and scan my environment. He said "the trick is to not be paranoid, but be aware. " At 50 years of age, I can honestly say this was great advice, which I've passed on to my kids.

      Good to know, I thought I was the only one doing these type of things. I am always scan my surrounding. I taught my son this too. Not because someone is going or walking in the same direction as you, that they also have good intentions.

    True, true. Everything that honest parents taught you, does not apply in the real world, especially in these modern days. I got played because of my honesty which became their reason to laugh about it. Snitches, they backstabbed, they sabotaged and now, they are all quiet, they totally disappeared from my life. What a world we live in. God help us all.

      Surround yourself with that small handful of people who are honest, trustworthy, empathetic and even keeled. Its better to have 2 or 3 people like this, than a crowd of predators surrounding you.

      I became an expert in narcissism. I realized I had a number of them around me: girl friends, bosses, family members, partner. Insecure copycats, jealous of what you are, trying to copy you and in the same time, doing everything to undermine you. Gossip, underhanded actions.

    Your sons are lucky to have you as a father. Being raised without a father and a mother that had to work two jobs to make ends meet, I was not aware of just how many people will betray you, especially in the workplace. No one wants to train you because they think you will one-up them. They want to demean, ridicule, or public shame you in front of your team mates. Leaders want to get in your face and point their fingers to meet your deliverables, or else. All the while their programs are past due, and you are the only one making you're goals. They want to block your success or access to abundance, they want to make sure you are the black sheep come review time. Much evil lurks large corporations or businesses just trying to make a buck. What they do not realize is the karma they have to face for behaving badly. Thank you for sharing.

    As a person who has become a bit of a prepper during the pandemic and who has had to go no contact, with a narcissistic family, yep, I’m situationally aware. While I might not be able to currently address some of the things I see, you can best be sure I see them, sometimes, long before they become apparent, I’m making plans for an exit, either by my own volition or because I might get fired, when I see jealousy coming from someone who holds enough power to financially impact me. What I’ve learned about jealous or envious people, is that you’d better not wait around for them to come to their senses, subscribe to better angels, or show remorse. Typically, they don’t. They may be quite aware of what they’re doing and, still, there are no checks and balances or feeling like they’d rather be a good person. They intend to carry out whatever they have in mind. So, that’s something you need to prepare for. Because they don’t at all mind countering whatever good happens in your life, as a result of their actions. They’ll sleep like a baby, knowing they’ve put your life in turmoil and, often, it’s your “BFF”. You often have to realize that, with the people you know and this could even be your parents, even if their life is going swell, and they have a broad smile on their face, sometimes, ANYTHING good happening for you, might be their worst nightmare - and they may intend to rectify that.

    • @kb4083
      @kb4083 2 роки тому +3

      This is so true regarding jealous people. They will ALWAYS find a way to sabotage your life… it’s happened to me with college “friends”, church “friends” & siblings - sadly family have been the worst offenders. I now can’t have jealous people in my inner circle. I used to give these people the benefit of the doubt, but not anymore.

    • @privateprivate8366
      @privateprivate8366 2 роки тому +1

      @@kb4083 yeah, the amount of absolute destruction they can try to exact on someone is crazy.
      I used to be stunned at the glee with which some people would fire others, for the smallest, most inconsequential things. There may have been no conversation to rectify behavior. Not even one more chance given, after an initial offense. Of course, often, what happened wasn’t even the fault of the employee. Just glad to give them the boot. For me, I was fully aware that it wasn’t just the employee being fired, but possibly their entire family. They may lose all they have, have to pull their kids out of school, etc. It can create a real mess of an entire family’s life.
      Where my family is concerned, my mother’s narcissistic mask dropped, although there’d been at least a decade of subtle, covert abuse. I don’t take abuse and I knew I’d exact reactive abuse so, it was time for me to close that chapter of my life, for the safety of all concerned. Nevertheless, there will always be a world of narcissistic enabling zombies, who will be certain to remind me that she’s my mother, she loves me and that I should return to the abuse, obediently. Fck no.

      @@lovewhitey2027 yeah, it’s really bad out there. I used to think I could easily spot someone who had it in for me. No. People actively mask it, to worsen the impact. Didn’t see my mother coming as, I subscribed to what most people do. Now, I know better. I’ve learned a great deal, from experts on narcissistic behavior, over the past few years. Sadly, it’s led to me trusting no one. But, I pick up red flags and patterns with lightning speed and give people the boot, as needed, when I can.

    I told my kids if a bear is chasing them down the road or if a bad person is trying to hurt or grab you and you run up to a neighbors house for help and you see their car in the yard so you know they are home and your banging on their door but no one is coming to help its ok to break their window. Someone will show up then. There is a time that it is ok to break the rules. We can pay for their window later. That does not make them a wolf - it makes them have disernment - and it keeps them safe.

    The funny thing about people who run other people down is they each in turn run eachother down when they are not present. I run from people like that preferring solitude as they are depressed downers. I believe what u let out of your mouth or think and if it is negative is dangerous data entry for the brain. It will harm the negative ones in the end. I have a happy disposition it is a blessing. Kindness is the key. So if someone is running someone down to you, just think about what they say about you when u aren't around. Blessings 🙏 to all. Regards.

    Very true. However, if one of your kids is a taker, chaos maker, ( wasn’t raised that way by me, came wired that way) then what? People in general are his doormat, and he only treats someone nice if he thinks there is something to gain. When he uses them up, they are tossed aside. What do you do if it is your kid! Yes because this world is run by the prince of this world . God’s kingdom has not come yet. True Christians are supposed to let The Light shine and it is hard.
    What’s even harder is when it’s one of your own parents who sabotage you.

    When I eliminate one user at a time they are astonished that I don't need their energy/ Others look in and say I must have a problem? Yup, I do.
    My house isn't a hotel that friends just pop in/ When I was young and I just bought it, sure we had really good parties/ sleep overs doing laundry all at my expense? Now I nurture me and my home with the money left over from my earnings. You know I'm never lonely because I refuse to pay for friends/ there came a time when a really good friend became homeless I gave her a room in less than a day she was demanding I get better internet?! out the door she went. James Thorogood " I drink Alone or with those people who struggle with the same issues us home owners have on Zoom calls/ can you say pandemic

    Don’t ever confront these people or let them know you’re into them or they will turn it all around you and convince others too that you are the bad one!! Since they are masters at their game so people will unfortunately believe them.

    Amen! Me too! We can prepare for anything. My life is not a game to be played by others. I don’t agree with that! I will not play anyone and I will not be played!! This is what needs to change! Cheaters do win and yes, winners do cheat and both of those type people are not quality!

    That's what voice mail is for....and don't answer if you don't know who, I learned this the hard way. And if you've been to the hospital and you get a call that says United States DO NO ANSWER IT! Especially in Florida, it's called The Baker Act, and it gives anyone at the hospital the right to throw you in the most awful mental health facility! Learn From ME!

    Life is not a game and we do not have to play those games.
    My problem is we need to put the accountability on the people who need to be accountable. That's the truth of the matter.
    Don't put the accountability on the victims. Like domestic offenders. Ask why they do it not why victims stay.
    Don't think it's the sexual Assault victim is caused by wearing shorts or dresses. It's about control, not about sex drive
    Any abuse is a control issues.
