MY FAVORITE COOKWARE | best pots and pans worth the money (on black friday and cyber monday)

- The best cookware worth the investment is durable, non-toxic and lasts a lifetime. My favorite brands of cookware from All Clad, Staub, Le Creuset and Lodge check all these boxes, and are made from materials including stainless steel, cast iron, class and ceramic.
Investing in cookware is like investing in the best Vitamix or other kitchen appliance. It may cost more money upfront, but it more than pays for itself over the long-haul.
So today, I wanted to deep dive into my cookware and chat about the different pots and pans I use the most, why I love them and why they’re worth investing in (or not investing in). This post isn’t sponsored by any of the brands you see highlighted, I’m just sharing what I truly love and use in the kitchen.

Hi guys! I hope you enjoy this review of my favorite cookware. I'd love to hear what cookware you use the most and why you love it (I love finding new brands!). All of the pieces I mentioned are linked on the full blog post, linked in the description box. Add them to your shopping cart now for Black Friday and Cyber Monday! ;) xo - Lisa
Nice video informative 👍
Scanpan is titanium, I love mine.
@@pegblount656 Scanpan is PTFE non-stick cookware. The marketing lingo they use is STRATANIUM+. But it's still PTFE non-stick (PFOA-Free as all PTFE pans now are).
I am moving and looking to set up my new kitchen. Thank you so much for all of this great information!!
I would love to hear what you think about Hexclad pans!
I agree totally about the All Clad ... I purchased a set of All Clad over 30 years ago and have added some to it over the years. I know it will last the rest of my life and probably the life of my daughter after me. I would like to add that for those who do not have the $$ or want to spend the $$ for the enameled cast iron brands you mention, I have enameled cast iron from Lodge and it has held up wonderfully at less than half the price of the others. I also love my regular cast iron ... my favorite piece being a skillet that belonged to my mother and is over 70 years old now. It's a joy to cook with.
You have taught me a great deal on loving cooking, and I gave away all my non stick pans and invested in all the steel clad and Le Creuset pots too! I am now looking at buying pure cast iron for frying etc.. Thank you for your videos, your passion and your wisdom.
That's great that you've switched from non-stick to All Clad and Le Creuset. Well done!
My favourite cooking/baking channel! Your recipes look amazing and you are so knowledgeable on so many subjects, I will always trust your opinion and statements! I hope All Clad reaches out and at the very least thanks you for your kind words, you rave about their products so often! Keep up the amazing work Lisa!
Thanks so much Jaimie! And yes, I sure do love my All Clad. I'm always happy to share what I feel is truly best in the kitchen. :)
Lisa, Thanks for a great review! My All-Clad is 20 years old "LTD" and some newer SS. I collected special pieces they no longer make such as the windsor pan. I love my collection of Staub for when as a New Mexican, cook red or green chile dishes! My plain CI dates from the 1800's and for ward, including new Lodge black lock- and Lodge did let me know on of my older Lodge is a black lock foundry era pan...Love your recipes as well.
Great video, Lisa. Thank you! I bought my All-Clad because of you, and I am a much better cook!😉 I absolutely love it, and it took me 30 years to realize..”Buy quality even if expensive from the get-go!” I’ve had SO many pots and pans over the years including Calphalon, and none compare. Plus, they scratch and stick. Your thoughtful care in analyzing medical aspects is right up my alley. You are the best!!
My only thing to add is that if you ever go to a Princess House Crystal Party, the Fantasia glass cookware is excellent! I’ve used it for 28 years and it’s still going strong.
Thanks so much Therese! And that's great that you invested in All Clad. It truly is the best!
I have Circulon pots and pans which I use every day. Paid a silly price for them but the good thing is that they come with lifetime warranties which Ive actually used and they have honoured without question. Ive replaced a chef's pan, fry pan and large pot (which were all getting on to 15 years old). Lovely heavy base, useful on a hob and in the oven and induction ready (which would mean something if I ever replaced our gas hob for an induction one I guess :) ). Also have Le Creuset skillet and casserole pans and absolutely love them...just don't drop them or you will break what ever they hit :)
Ok now you're just reading my mind!! Was just at home goods yesterday scratching my head wondering which pans were safe. Exhausted at the thought of googling all of this info, so Thanks for all that you covered and all you continue to do for us
Haha, good timing! I'm glad you found the video helpful - and now you know what to buy. :)
Ever since quarantine, I got myself 3 cast irons skillets, a cast iron casserole pot and a carbon steel wok. And my cooking haven't got any better 😝
Same I keep buying myself expensive cookware to motivate myself cooking lol
Thanks for this. I am in the process of overhauling my kitchenware and this video was really helpful.
I watched the video when it went up and have been studying all week. I've been thinking about replacing my cookware for a while. Thank you for motivating me to move this up on my list of priorities!
My sister has all clad and with that straight side they are so hard to pour out of. I have had cuisinart stainless pans that I bought individually - all at one time when I got married. Bought 1.5qt upto 12qt stockpot all w lids and they have held up amazingly well. No warping - nothing and they are really well balanced and the curved lip makes life so much easier to pour out everything from chai to browned meats or stews. They are also about half the cost. My 2 cents after using both brands. Love your channel
I Have Had My German Fissler Cookware Since The 1970s. I Still Use Them To This Day.
Great brand!
I invested in a set of KitchenCraft years ago, haven’t regretted it but they make All Clad look like a bargain. Look into carbon steel as well. Love my lodge skillets and can be had for 40 bucks. DeBuyer also excellent. Non stick I use Volrath CeramiGuard. I use no nonsense restaurant equipment for utensils, primarily Volrath or Dexter Russell and a set of wood utensils from World Market.
Thanks for this video!!!
I used to have and loved my nonstick pans (I had 2) but I got rid of them years ago!
I watched you making fresh tortillas on the nonstick pan as a demo but I make my tortillas on my cast iron comal (or skillet) and they come out great!
I also use my stainless steel Cuisinart pans for my eggs and everything- way to use almost mine non-stick just using a bit of oil.
I got a 20-piece set of Cuisinart pots & pans from my husband as a wedding gift 20 years ago and they are still going strong!!! (& they come with a lifetime warranty!… can’t beat that!!!)
Love your recommendations, and your neutral selections. Your style of decor for the kitchen is simply, and very well organized. Love your videos!!! 👍🏾💕
Thanks so much Chaela! :)
Your recommendations are spot on! Cuisinart has great, lower-cost clad stainless steel for those who don’t want to drop serious coin on All Clad. Also, I have been loving my new carbon steel pan.
I’ve had my cuisinart pans for over 20 years, and they are still going strong.
Girl!!!!! So timely! Love every recommendation you put out there definitely looking into some all clad and building up. I got a ceramic set from them and now I wish I had done a little more research and gone with stainless steel 😭😭
Stainless steel is definitely my favorite to use 😊
Do you have to put a lot of oil to stainless steel? Since it’s not nonstick
@@MikyMiguel777 usually with my pans, i heat them up, then put some oil or butters around the bottom. They seems to suck up moisture really quickly, so if i dont follow that sequence, then my food sticks.
@@MikyMiguel777
No, I have All-Clad stainless steel heat up empty pan or pot on medium to low heat and then add 1 tablespoon of butter or oil and coat it all over and it works fine. I cook eggs like that on them and they do not stick. Easy to cook and easy to clean. You can get them on sale toward the end of January on one day sale for 7-pc set for less than $300 at Bloomingdale online.
Which pan is better to cook eggs and such in: all clad or a coated cast iron? Is there a reason you use stainless steel pan instead of the coated iron? Someone told me calphalon 18/10 is as good as all clad, what do you think? Thank you!
I love your videos. You save me so much time on research. Based on all the videos I have watched I truly respect your suggestions to be honest and to be geared toward the best for your viewers
I am so glad to hear that Debbie 😊I hope this video helps when you are buying your next set of cookware!
after watching so many videos for the selection of cookware, this one confirms the summary of my research. thank you
Glad it was helpful Debbie!
Thank you for all of these tips! Would you ever do a video on under-the-counter organization video? How do you organize your under-counter space?
Will definitely keep that in mind! 😊
These are all of my favorite pans as well with one exception. For non-stick I have recently found hexclad which has a lifetime warranty. Loved this video!
Glad this video helped! 😊
Give Le Creuset toughened non stick skillets a try. I’m not a huge fan of nonstick either, but the Le Creuset non stick is on to own playing field. You can even use metal utensils without scratching the surface. I used to go thru All Clad non stick every two years for 20 years . . .no more. These are awesome.
This video couldn’t have been here at a better time. Was literally just looking for best cooking pans yesterday!
Awesome! Perfect timing then. :)
Me, too!
Thank you for your review on All-Clad, I finally made the push to buy a whole set (10 piece) of the D3 line that I've been eyeing for years but couldn't afford to at the time. They're having a great sale on Macy's today for 40% off and additional 30% w/ a coupon code. I'm sooooooo excited. I'm really enjoy cooking now and decided to treat myself to nicer pans that works, not just look pretty. I bought the 12" All-Clad last week and this new set includes the 10" & 8" so my collection will be completed 👍
Have you noticed that the bottom interior stains after the food is out and if they’re here to clean I am interested in a set
Aw bummer I just checked and missed the sale.
1:23 if you can't afford the all-clad Cuisinart's clad pans are really great. My parents have all-clad and I haven't noticed any difference between the two. I also have Mauviel copper pans at my rental place, thought about switching them out in between tenants, but just left them there. I love y Cuisinart clad pans. And they're like a 3rd of the price of the All-Clad.
New subscriber after watching your meal prep video. I love how genuine you are
I am a big supporter of Wolfgang Puck...I do have his Stainless steal cookware and several of his kitchen gadgets...I recently ordered his Plasma non-stick pans on HSN...that have no PFOA...and they have a lifetime warranty...he swears by stainless steel..but customer's requested it... so he found someone to make it to fit his standards...thank you for the wonderful review...and the knowledge you pass on especially to younger people is invaluable... I am a new subscriber...😊
Really informative video, love all your pots and pans. you’re absolutely right they all have a place and a time to use.
Thank you 😊
Crate and Barrel have 20% All Clad plus free shipping.
Oh awesome! Can't beat that. :)
Oooo thank you for sharing ☺️

Home Goods has it now also. Can’t beat the prices there.
@@Downshiftology Thanks for the link! Sale is 55% off now!
Wow I was so shocked but happy when I heard you say All Clad because My nephew just sent me a 10 pc set of from Williams and Sonoma it cost more than my mortgage 😂 I was so excited to receive this blessed gift & I can’t wait to use them, I’m waiting on my new double oven range to be delivered then I’ll use them. Thanks for sharing
Stumble across your video and feel in love. I love purchasing kitchen cookware and utensils. I've learned quite a lot. Thanks
Thank you for talking about negative impacts of non-stick.
I didn't know.....my goodness🥂🍾
The video I did not know I needed. Thank you!
Omg, I’m so happy I accidentally watched your video and got hooked!!! I’m so ready to lighten up my kitchen!!! So thanks for your tutorials!!! 🔥
Wonderful! Can't wait for you to start fresh 😊
Hello from France 🇫🇷 @Downshiftology ! Love to watch your videos in this clean environment with fresh colors. You are among my favorite UA-camrs.
Thanks so much Francois! I'm so happy you enjoyed the video!
This is exactly what I need!!! Clicked thumbs-up before even started watching!!!! Thank you.
Yay, thanks so much Angie! I hope you love the video! :) x
@@Downshiftology Wow thanks for sharing your concerns about non-stick pans. I'm gonna get some new stainless-steel pans instead.

Perfect! That's a wise choice.
You always make sense Liza! Love from the Philippines 😍😘
Thanks Ann 😊
I can't like your channel enough. Great knowledge and really informative. Thank you for the time and effort you put into your videos 😍
So happy to hear that 😊
You are amazing to have this type of research for your video. This video is so comprehensive. Thank you so much for this video!
I’m enjoying your videos so much!! I find that we like very similar things - including Al-clad! I have given myself a number of gifts 🎁 from skillets to pots because I fell in love with the quality!
Great minds think alike 😊
I’m going to gift myself this weekend. 😂
I would be very interested in a video on kitchen spices and herbs (both dried and fresh): How to purchase (or plant & grow), store and the optimal containers and conditions for storage. Also, perhaps a part 2 on herbal teas.
I will definitely keep that in mind :)
I bought an All Clad pan 1 or 2 years ago but I had so much trouble cleaning it that I never used it much. Now I am using the Always pan, which I LOVE.
My rule is NO NON-STICK COOKWARE. People have just gotten lazier. Why take the risk? Thanks for that round up. I just found your channel and love the vibe and very high quality production values in your videos.
Thank you!! I have used Lodge pans for years. Downside for me is their weight! Will definitely check out Crate and Barrell utensils!
Lodge is great! But yes, they are a bit heavy. Definitely check out those utensils, they've got the best balanced feel in the hand as well.
Cheryl Lehman For lighter alternative cast iron , check out Stargazer and Field cast iron . Both are made in the US and are much lighter than Lodge .
Saladmaster. Is my favorite... Lifetime warranty and no chemical reactions on our food that retains 93 percent of nutrients. 316 ti is being use the highest grade os titanium
Me too!
Nice cookware collection!! Last year, I bought my 1st All Clad cookware. I have been adding pieces slowly. They are totally worth the money 💰 the make me feel so happy and proud when I use them 😃
You really are a breath of fresh air! Loving your channel
Thanks so much Jeanette 😊
Thank you for sharing💕I’ve been looking for a nice cookware set❤️
You definitely can't go wrong with All Clad - it's the best!
I never heard of All Clad until I saw this video. You are correct in the fact that it is QUITE expensive!
Wait until you check the price of the Dutch oven...
Worth EVERY penny...just be mindful about what you will use and you can obtain a great collection while not breaking the bank
I love my saladmaster stainless steel. And i have the whole set, by buying each piece at differant times at the thrift store. The highest I paid for one pan was $12.00. The lowest price was $3.00. That is the best part. I love your videos.
Great! I'm not familiar with that brand but I'll look into it. :) Thanks Brenda!
Wow I don't know that brand....is it good?
Saladmaster is the best stainless steel cookware I know of. It's guaranteed for life and they stand behind their guarantee. I have 2 sets, one that I bought new for $1600 about 12 years ago and one that's over 40 years old that I bought at an estate auction for $60 a few years later.
My dear sister! Thank u so very much for explaining about all these products. I was waiting for a genuine review from some one, so that I can buy the best quality pots and pans. I have heard about All clad and lodge products. Ur review has helped me to decide which one to buy now! Surely I will go for Allclad and Lodge!😍👍God bless. Stay safe! Annalina from India!🤗🙏
Love this video! I just switched half of my cookware to stainless steel. Hoping to switch the other half very soon! Thanks for the awesome video ! 😊
That's great, good for you!
Are they non stick?
@@vickigollop1216 stainless steel is not non-stick, however there are cooking techniques you can use to minimize sticking. Search UA-cam on “cooking eggs in stainless steel pan” or “stainless steel pan mercury test.” You have to let the pan heat up dry to a certain temp, then test by dropping water drops in it. If it sizzles and then evaporates, it’s not hot enough and food will stick - especially protein foods. If the water balls up and looks like mercury, it’s ready to add your oil and room temperature food (adding cold food to a hot pan will result in sticking). Let meats, fish, and poultry sit on counter for 10-15 min after removing from the fridge, so it’s not too cold.
love love love! I'm only 25 but this is right up my alley. Functional and practical gifts are the best! (:
Yes, agree!
Thank you!!! Good looking out. I’m totally All-Clad & le Creuset fan ❤️
I love your videos, thank you for your time and all the information that you are sharing with us happy thanksgiving 💐😍
I'm happy you enjoy them Manal! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!
I just love you! You’re so smart and I could listen to you forever lol
You're so sweet. Thank you!
Hi, I recently bought a premium stainless steel cookware set after being inspired from this video and got rid of cheap non-stick ones. Although mine is not All-Clad, it is very nice stainless steel cookware from a relatively newer company. I started using it and notice that after every dish, the bottom of the pan or pot is stained and you can see where the food made contact with the pan. I use low-medium heat as suggested and preheat the pan before adding oil and cooking as well. I was wondering if you could share if your pans do the same and it just requires cleaning with some combination of vinegar or baking powder. Every time I use my pan I have to clean it either with baking soda or vinegar and I was wondering if that's normal and would that wear on the pan over time. I know that stainless steel is a bit more tricky to clean versus non-stick pans, but I haven't been able to clean the pot or pan without having to soak it in some sort of acidic solution to make the cookware look clean and shiny again. Are you able to just clean with soap and water with your All-Clad?
wow!
I recently bought a new made in carbon steel for $20 at a thrift shop. So excited! I will slowly start buying pots that last a lifetime
Just found your channel yesterday and I’m ready to get healthy again can’t wait to try your recipes!! I’ve watched a few videos already and you make it very easy to follow along.
Wonderful! I'm happy you're loving my recipes. Welcome to the community Christine!
Just the right time when I’m starting to feel overwhelmed for cookware research! Appreciate your video. Most of the products, I found during my research. However, I would to know if you have used The Always Pan from Our Place for ceramic non stick pan. Can you give an honest opinion? Thank you in advance!
Such a helpful, well-presented video, as always! Thank you!
Thanks so much Lexi! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
That was very informative & helpful. I'm currently using nonstick cookware, but after listening to this video, I plan to transition over to stainless steel as I need to replace my current cookware. Thanks for all of the great information!!
You're welcome Lynn! Switching to stainless is a smart idea. :)
Same!

This was a great video I've learned a lot! Can you do a video on plates, bowls & fork/spoon
Thanks so much Ivana! I'm glad you loved it. And I'll make a note of that for a future video. :)
Love the work you do! Thank you for making my life easier. I have a gluten intolerant toddler and you make gluten free awesome and delicious. Thank you!!

Yeah you're right i'am also intolerant to gluten and she really helped me a lot with her different gluten free recipes 😊 so i'm grateful to her
Just found your channel recently and really find your videos to be very helpful and enjoyable to watch. My favorites are Le Creuset. I’ve used them for many years.
.
Welcome to the Downshiftology community Jean 😊 Hope you continue to learn tons from my channel and enjoy the recipes along the way!
Great cookware! I love cooking in cast iron pots, I have both le creuset & Staub and I absolutely love them both! They are pricey, but worth every penny.
Wowww looove this video!!! Thank you for sharing and for answered every question I had :)
Wonderful! I'm glad you found the video helpful. :)
Many of these brands I aodre but some I haven't heard of, I'll have to try them!
You’re right, I love All a las and Viking, I know are expensive but are the best!
6:30 You can get non-stick pans now that are totally safe, can be used with metal utensils and will last you as long as a stainless-steel pan! :-) Try to take a look at the cheapest version, the onyx stainless-steel pans, only downside to them is that you do still have to keep them at a maximum of medium heat, and you have to heat them slowly.
My aunt told me to buy some of those Al Clad and I was going to until I saw the price haahahah. My budget alternative was the Costco Kirkland Set 😊 I’ve had them for 8+ years
If you ever decide to replace them check out Vollrath. If you live in a city there are more than likely plenty of Restaurant Supply stores that should have them in stocks but they can be found on Amazon. Made in the USA and similar performance to the All-Clad, just not quite ia pretty, at about half the price.
thank you thank you for making videos I love his videos and I enjoy to watching to his videos and god bless.
Thank you for this video. It's so informative and because of watching your videos I bought a Staub braiser pot with the glass lid!
Amazing Alvin! Hope you're loving your Staub braiser 😊 Perfect for the winter times especially.
Wow, this is exactly what I've been needing in my life.
Thank you so much for sharing with me your go to cookware products and brabds.
I'm definitely investing in- 1st of all an all-clad stainless set.
I checked out the links tou added, and man that blender
I've never heard of it, it looks amazing.
It'll be #1 on my wishlist 😁
I've checked out a few recipes on your website, I checked out your IG 😁
I only stumbled upon your UA-cam today and already I love you ❤
With your tips, Receipes and recommendations I feel like I'll take my home cooking to a whole other level very soon 😁
I may even fancy calling my self a chef lol.
Thank you, thank you for making this video! I slowly have been collecting my pots and pans. I have two cast iron’s and slowly adding to my stainless steel collection. What confuses me about standstill is a different grades. Can you elaborate on that for us.
I only use cast iron and stainless steel as well. I purchased my All-Clad 10 years ago when my husband and I got married. They are holding up perfectly. And of course cast iron never wears out. My Le Creuset Dutch Oven is amazing!!! I love all my pieces and good kitchenware is a great lifetime investment. Well worth saving up to get great products.
It sounds like you've got a great assortment of cookware Kristi! And they really will last a lifetime. :)
Kristi B I completely agree!!! I’m so happy I finally bit the bullet for a vitamix and am now doing research on stainless steel!
Thank You sooo much for this informative video! I have always wanted to buy All Clad I will show this video to my husband who asked what I wanted for my birthday! Thanks for sharing!
Perfect timing to buy All-Clad :)
Thank you for your well-informed opinions on cookware....very helpful!
Thank you! I just purchased a piece set from all clad. Im slowly replacing my non stick items.
Wonderful! You're gonna love it.
Please which is the best pot ?help with the name
Me too, just throwed anyway couole of them. Haha
Thanks for this list of cookware, about to move n start a new life and journey and these infos are very helpful 🙏🏾
Thanks for your advice. I started to buy All-Clad stainless steel pans for my daughter's wedding.
I am slowly switching out my 15 year old set of Martha Stewart pots/pans for All Clad. I also have a 5.5 quart Le Creuset in Caribbean that I absolutely love.
That Caribbean color is beautiful!
Would love a similar video on your knife collection as well!
yeees
Thank you!! Can you do one on knives and cutting boards?? Love your channel.
That would be a great video for the future! I'll make a note of it. :) Thanks Valencia!
@@Downshiftology Yes! Cutting boards and knives! Is an awsome idea, I really need to replace mine :)
I'd look at Cliff Stamp videos.
mad thumbs thank you for the suggestion!
I have a full Allclad fri set but really like my Hexclad set so much better. All around just easier and so much more comfortable. Keep the Hex seasoned well and its the perfect pan.
Could you please do a video on your cleaning routine!? I just got this set & am struggling with eggs / reheating meal prepped items. Thank you!!
All-Clad stainless steel pots are coated with a coating, without this coating the food would stick. This coating may also be carcinogenic. As highlighted there are coatings which are PTFE free, which seem to be safer.
where can i find more information on this?
After going through several sets of nonstick cookware in my lifetime, I finally bit the bullet and invested (and it IS an investment) in Demeyere Industry series stainless cookware and love it. I also have several pieces of Le Creuset for stews, big pots of beans and roasting. I've got the original Corningware PYROCERAM (not all CW are pyroceram) pieces, which are great for casseroles and side dishes, but I don't have any bakeware. What do you use to bake cakes and pies and bread? Pyrex or a metal bakepan?
Pies.Breads, brownies etc. can be baked in cast iron loaf pans or skillets. Corn bread comes out amazing in cast iron pans like “lodge” brand or “le Creuset” -enameled cast iron.
I’ve never baked a cake in cast iron. Not yet, however it should be ok. Maybe line it with unbleached parchment as you would with non- stick bakeware.
@ Jennifer Harris, I love demeyere!
I have Titanium Exclusive cookware and love it. It's non-stick but coated with titanium, not tephlon. Best to wash pans while they're still hot to maintain the finish.
Very informative and clear straight to the point video. Thank you!
I want to switch out my Teflon type pans and want to buy a good set. This was a great review! Thank you!
Can you review the Always Pan by Our Place? That would be phenomenal :)
I am very impressed how clean your stainless steel cookware is clean and looking nice even after years and years of using! Could you please share some tips, how you clean and take care of them? Thank you in advance!

TheBigpapax30 Wolfgang Puck stainless steel is an excellent alternative and is just durable and high quality. I’ve had my set for 15 years and it looks new.
