I had been away for 10 weeks and, when I returned, I got the B200 error on my MG6530 printer. However, I fixed it in 10 minutes. I took the printhead out, and let it soak in a 1/2 inch of warm water. The water went really black, so I changed it, and did that several times until no more ink came out. I dried the printhead with a lint-free cloth, and put it back in the printer and - hey presto - it works fine again. This was a really easy fix, and I recommend it.
If you have the MG2500, here's what I dud. Unplug it. Remove cords. Remove paper from tray. Open the cartridge access door. Use the bands you see to move the cartridges to the middle. Remove the cartridges. Using rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol 99% preferably) drip over the contacts you see in the ink cartridge carrier inside the printer. Wipe the contacts gently a couple of times. Wipe the contacts on the ink cartridges with alcohol also. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow me alcohol to evaporate. Reinstall the ink cartridges and close the panel. Reinstall wires and set up the printer as usual. Power up the printer and allow it to cycle through its initial boot up. Try printing again. This solved my B200 error on the pop-up notification and the warning light flashing. The problem is that condensation and dust and ink are attached to the contacts, and it failed to transmit data. Hope that helps some of you. ✌️
Thanks Cool BUT Another thing I believe we are missing is the "BED" of the printer heads, where they "SLEEP" when not in use, needs come cleaning. Observe where the printer cartridges/heads position themselves in their bed position when the printer is turned off. This area of the printer is where the heads rely on being clean and able to seal from ink drying out while not in use. While turned off, move the heads over so you can access this area. Use a flashlight to see well. Using a water-wet-moist paper towel/napkin, clean this area and any rubber flaps. Constantly turn the paper to a clean area until it is a dirty ball. Repeat with a new wet paper towel/napkin, up to like 5 of them. You'll never get all the ink to come off but at least the majority of it. This might be the reason our heads are drying out or clogging because we've never cleaned their "bed area". Take care
Thank you so much I didn’t want to take out brand new ink cartridges and risk them all drying out so started with method 3 and it worked you are a star! Xx
