Love how the twins already have visual aspects of their parents. Green eyes from mum and brown hair from dad. It's great that you can see their appearance as a baby 💛
Sims 3’s babies are a little better than Sims 4, in the sense that you can click on them as a Sim. But, for all the games, Sims 2 definitely takes the cake.
The reason you have to eat “more” in sims 2 is because different food has different caloric levels so it takes more cereal to fill sim up. Also, it has consequences: you easily gain weight etc. sims 2 was absolutely supreme 🙌🏼
Babies were so much better in Sims 2, they were so much more interesting and you could interact with them. They even look better than the static blobs in Sims 4.
You could take babies and toddlers on walks in the Sims 3! And one of my favorite things about Sims 2 is that your sim was a Whole Person that you got to know! You didn’t completely make them from scratch and have to develop everything about them! They had interests and they wanted help exploring them!
Adult sims can study parenting through a bookcase. I'm not sure how it helps cause my first Sims 2 parents studied parenting after their twins aged up into toddlers and idrk if it has an effect only on babies or toddlers too, but that's something fun about Sims 2! They can study things like couple counselling and fire safety from bookcases. Edit: Also the reason sim Clare made so many gelatines is because you made her make many group meals. You can have sims make a single serving, a group meal, many single servings and many group meals.
If you’ve studied parenting in sims 2 they can check on the baby and over it’s head it thinks about what it needs. Not sure it’s worth it though as the three basic needs of nappy, food and crib should make the baby happy anyway!
@@Japonicastar Oh I see, might've missed that when I was playing. For toddlers you can check their needs just by clicking them anyway, right? Which is why parenting is more useful for when you have babies.
Small feature that you missed Clare but you can also bathe baby sims in the sink once their toddlers though they can only get baths in the tub but i’ve always loved this tiny detail😭
@@Sophie-rl5dx the interaction is half assed at best but also you can’t do it with baby sims in sims 4 bc they’re objects. You can only do it with toddlers. it’s the opposite in this game.
Sims 2 is my favourite game! It is so good and tbe sims game I play the most :) Some little helpful tips: *On the chest, where could choose the need altering point, you can pick multiple opinions and also a second aspiration for the sim. It's like the vampire or spell caster abilities tree. *Using the phone you can call for an exterminator to get rid of the roaches. You can also uses the phone to hire a Nanny or Maid through the services section, or call a taxi to go to a community lot. *To see skills and what Ally needs for his job its on the little person behind the desk icon. Encase you want promotions and money. *If you want to use cheats for money, motherlode is a girls best friend. £50k up front! *Babies often fail aging up alone so definitely use a cake! *You can bath babies in the sink, it is so cute!!
As someone who has never played sims 2, this mini series didnt excite me at first, but im SO glad I watched them because its super different and interesting!!! Edit: fixed spelling :)
Food in TS2 isn't all equally filling, so cereal doesn't raise your hunger bar as much as an omelet. The most fulfilling meals are unlocked at higher cooking skills. I love that about the game personally
I loved the memory System and I'm so sad that the later Sims games don't have it. It literally tells you so much more about the Sims you join later in Their life
Claire, did you see the new realistic Birth mod?? YOU WOULD LOVE IT SO MUCH!! It's blurred out but it's a whole day and an experience, you can have c-sections and all, you push and also you have to dialate to give birth, the dad is there with you, it's a whole other level😍😍
I actually forgot how hard Sims 2 was. I found the ultimate collection on Mac last year. I went from 4 to 2 to 3. Now I play all 3. Sims 4 is a giant sandbox and you can do whatever you want. In Sims 2 you play the game but help them live out their lives. I made a sim that struggled to marry this one townie. He would always get cold feet at the wedding so I would pause and reload. Then after FINALLY getting married, he would be instantly smitten with a sim I invited to the wedding. I had to reload the game like 7 times and managed to talk to her so he wouldn't encounter her. Then while I took them on vacation my sim kept trying to fall in love with an islander! Then in a different household, I tried to make a mature gentleman that was a serial dater. I created a potential spouse that lived with him and his family but waited too long to get them hitched. He went from want to marry to a fear of marrying. Wooing my own sim that I created is hard! Sims 2 has a lot of personality! I think sims 3 doesn't fall to either extreme, you can customize EVERYTHING to the point that I was getting a bit overwhelmed, but they still have personality too, so I would say it's in the middle of 2 and 4. Anyway, you are a guide in sims 2. You don't play sims 2. Sims 2 plays you.
It's the little things that make sims 2 game play sooo much better like cuddling in bed and the sheets staying unmade when you get out of bed. The babies were the best too
Lol the music is from the TV! Sims with low needs or aspirations can have nightmares and wake up in the middle of their sleep. Prams are only existed in the Sims 3.
If you are interested in more details about 2 that's different than sims 3 or 4. I recommend the red plumbob for different comparisons of each segment of each game and onlyabidong who is known foe noticing the little details in one game versus the other. I'd love for this to be a series though. Exploring things through Clare's is always interesting and entertaining!
As a pregnant person who normally never throws up, after this kid made me throw up the first time I knew all bets were off, and I do have a fear of things pushing me over the edge to throw up. So I feel like that being a fear in sims is very relatable. 😅
What I THINK I remember: How long food lasts depends on the Sim's cooking level and the quality of the appliances used. And I THINK you can/have to bathe babies in sinks if the hygiene is low. Changing nappies is for needing to pee. And if you have just fed them and then play with them there is a chance of them puking on your head. Also, you can prepare many group meals because in "Open for business" you can sell meals (kinda like own a restaurant, I think).
Oh! This doesn’t relate to this video, but I just remembered you weren’t sure how to move a single sim from the phone (S4). You just need to click “split from household and move” not “move household” (cause that’ll move everyone). Love you, Clare, & hope you’re doing well! 💗💗💛
I was looking for that option when she was doing it and somehow her game just didn't have the option as far as I could tell. On the phone at least it was missing.
Something i found as an absolute lifesaver for the ts2 babies are the EA mods with the bouncy seat and the playmat. They’re so nice because the baby can be out of their room and crib and be with everyone
Hi Clare! I was thinking, and it would be really interesting if you did a tea reveal for the Not-So-Berry series like how you did for the og series. Just an idea! Love your videos
I'd loooove to see you take the sims on a vacation because there's so much to do! Sims 2 bon voyage was 100% the most vacationy vacations while later games were more adventuresque
Started replaying sims 2 again on mac and having sooo much fun! If you do carry on with this series Clare, could you try out playing each families since the drama is FAB! Trying to achieve their goals is sooo much fun :) Currently playing with the Broke family and the chaos is on point :D
I remember putting a mini fridge in my Sims’ bedroom as a kid cause when my Sim became pregnant she nearly died many times cause it goes down sooo fast! I’d get so stressed out and I was like 7 😂
Sims can have nightmares!! I think it's with paranormal stuff but they're becomes a pop up that tells you about that Sims night mare and they get a mood let
Clare, Little Ms Sam has loads of amazing mods that make tiny differences to your game! Three of my favourite are “send sims On a walk” (same as sending them on a jog but it’s just a casual walk), “foster care mod” (your sims can foster children!) and the “ultrasound mod” which lets you take your parent sims on an ultrasound appointment TOGETHER and then they get a little ultrasound photo in their inventory which you can put on your wall! She has so many mods those are just my faves
My favourite with babies in the Sims 2 was being able to wash them in the sink! Think you need a medicine cabinet in front of your sink. But it’s sooo cute 🥺
sadly you can't take kids for a walk in a pram in Sims 2, but you could in Sims 3. They also released a Baby Dangler play mat that you could put the babies in during the day which is really cute. And yes, babies are hard 😅😅
Babies are a cakewalk compared to toddlers! 😂 I love them in Ts2 but they're definitively a challenge, especially when your sims are constantly on the verge of starving. good luck!
Yes needs are harder! But there’s incentives for that. The more aspiration points u get the more perks u get and you can buy slower need decays on the aspiration perk trees. And u can also get a second aspiration. Each tree has need decay stuff so u can get a lot of decay. Also food got harder to raise the hunger need because now u can grow produce. Growing produce and stocking your fridge with it will let you make meals that “shine” cause it was made with fresh produce and one plate literally will fill up the hunger from almost all red to fully green. Like sometimes my sims don’t even have to eat the full plate. Crazy 😂 And hovering over the items before u buy them allows u to recolor them
Ooo Clare as I was watching your video I just remembered that there is a new pregnancy mod for Sims four and I wanted you to test it out to see if you like it!! It’s supposed to be really realistic!!!
ooooo I cant wait to see more of this family. You can wash the baby in any sink when you're holding them. They do have baby mats and swings but they must be downloaded.

Really loving the Sims 2 on your channel! So much so I'm trying to get it back myself now 😂 please put your money tree in your house though, people can take the money off it who aren't from your household!
Jello molds (gelatin) were not an early 2000s food, Claire. They were a super popular 1960s-1970s American food. People suspended everything in flavored gelatin. It was nasty. May have been popular in other countries, but I can't speak to that because I don't know for sure.
In the sims 2, upgrading your furniture and appliances really help a lot to avoid having to set fire to your kitchen or cleaning which I like because I spend my simoleons so might as well
Does anyone else remember the animation for alien babies was like a door opening on the Sims plumbob? Also you can buy mobile phones from a stand in town as well as things like handheld games consoles. And when you’re in town you can also go actual grocery shopping. Urgh, I miss the sims 2!!
