@@juliemcdonald1245 I'm cleaning out my childhood home now that my mom has passed- I can't believe how much of my 80s stuff she kept-- Moon Boots, Keds, Reeboks-- and my Coke shirts! I grew a tiny bit after high school, and I now realize how BIG my feet were as a teen. I wore a women's size 10 back then, and the Moon Boots from 1982 still fit! Yes it definitely was, no phones, tablets, Internet, just friends getting together and hanging out away from home all day. We actually leared so much growing up in the 80"s just by living life outside. Kids these days are just stuck on phones all day and night. No hanging out with friends the way we did. It's just sad 😢

I miss going thrifting for men's suit jackets. The style at my high school was to find a quirky (meaning- 70s polyester) men's suit jacket, rolling up the sleeves, and wearing that over your band t-shirts...or with your Izod collar popped up with top-sider shoes!

I remember our parents drag out fist fighting over Cabbage Patch dolls in isles at the stores. I loved my jellies, snap bracelets and we made our friendship bracelets for our friends and ourselves, parachute pants, swatch watch, had my boombox, Rubik's Cube, loved florescent colored clothes and lace accessories, had more rabbits feet then I could count, a scrunchie collection to die for, Guess and Jordache jeans were a must, and I had big hair every day with my pink and white can of Aqua Net. Banana clips were popular, even had Zuba pants, Then came stone washed jeans we pegged. Leg warmers were definitely in my drawer and I loved roller skating to my 80s music.

Other forgotten fads. Super large tees that people would tie knots in the hem. It became such a trend that there were plastic doodads you could thread the corners of your massive t shirt in and it held better than the knot
Friendship Pins. They were saftey pins with beads on them which we exchanged with our friends. We wore them by threading them on our shoelaces
Big bow barrettes. I had half a dozen of them long before the Siwa abomination.
Noxema was the best way to clean your skin. The smell is 8th grade forever.
The pacman game watch. They give games like that out for free, but back in the 80s it was expensive and a big deal.
The Speak and Spell. I used to continually make it say P, because it sounded so weird.
Little stuffed animal clips. You could attach them to your jacket or anything you wanted., though I think they were supposed to go on pens.
The Garfield Plush toy with suction cups you stuck to your back car window.
    The baby on board signs
Sweet Valley High books. All the middle school girls were reading them

I may be commenting to quickly because I am only 6 minutes in to this fantastic video but does anyone remember, or owned Jams? These were the colorful knee and below shorts? Guess Jackets, Coca Cola shirts?
I loved my Jams! I would rock a pair of Kswiss and a white Polo, or a college logo sweatshirt! Spiked hair and a splash of Polo cologne with that iconic green bottle with the gold lid. Before you left the house you grabbed your Rayban style sunglasses then check your look one more time in the mirror before you left the house. Wanted to make sure that your bi level was spiked up in the front and that you had the party going on in the back 😂
I would drive, or my buds Scott or Kell would drive but either way we would all pitch in on gas which was .69 cents a gallon so a dollar per person was enough to cruise McDonalds along with a hundred other teens cruising blasting the radio or a tape with the coolest music playing. Stopping and talking to the ladies and acting cool as hell 😂
End the night over at one of our houses hanging out, talking to girls on the phone, watching MTV, or a movie on HBO.
Wake up the next day, check in at home, make a few calls, and just live a wonderful teen life all over again.
Ty for sharing this video! For 20 minutes watching and commenting I was able to go back and briefly feel, smell, and remember my wonderful friends and our youth!
