Accepted a job as a RN Case Manager as a new grad… burned out from working as a bedside CNA for so many years… I needed a break from bedside before jumping in as an RN. CM Training has been great so far. Thanks for the info! Helped a lot.

Do you recommend any books or other resources to educate ourselves about those terms such as Medicare part A, B.... to transition from floor nurse to nurse case manager?

New terms to learn for sure. Transitioned to CM from bedside and lots to learn. It’s been 2 weeks. Hopefully, the lightbulb will start to come on.

Thank you for posting these videos as I am looking into going in a new direction. I just left med-surg/onc/hospice unit in a geriatric hospital where I was a charge and had a full load, 6-7 patients (so unsafe). I am looking into Case Management as a possibility. Is case management doable as a part time position?

Thanks for all the vids and comments! Can anyone give more input/advice? I just got offered an OR job as well as at a big hospital (been a nurse for about 2 years). I am a little burned out with patient -care I think. I don’t know what to do... I think my pro’s/con’s list now just comes down to pay. Google lists such a wide salary range... anyone have any input on what to expect for salary?

This is an excellent video. Thank you soo much. Although I’m not in the medical field but I have just applied for case management position within the Prison system. Some of the things you discuss related to discharge planning does apply in the correctional setting when it comes to RENTRY….So I appreciate this video.. BTW you speak very well and I was able to understand and relate to everything you have said.
    Thanks Again

Coming from background of 12 years case management, I disagree with you, missing any part of case management can impact the patient life and put him in real risk

He talked about the downfalls of case manager and this is one apart of the discussion…You just wanted him to know you have 12 years( ok…. Congrulations) as a CM..

California pays case managers the best. You can work from home as a case manager but it all depends on the company you work for.
