Doomworm should have some reskining done maybe like scars all around its body overgrown teeth and like other small features to show thats its been through a lot as an endworm
why not something based around the other design of the endworm? copper-tinted from age, multiple mandibles, larger in size, covered in scars from ships that tried to take it down before
I feel like the endwyrm and doomworm should swap names, as doomworm is fitting for all the worms but endwyrm is perfect for the last and strongest foe in the game
The doomworm should have scars from fighting subs like burns on its armor or rail gun shells stuck in it. They could have a dive suit on one on the its teeth
My first encounter with the abyss and the subsequent latcher was by pure accident. I was going to hunt down a swarm of crawlers in the second biome. The only problem was that not only were they located at the bottom of this giant hole, but there's a downward current. I decide to bite the bullet and ignore the risks as I had recently upgraded the hull several times and had many crew members Manning the guns. So I descend and part way through the fight to my horror all the power shuts off at once because I had forgot to change out the damn rods, and I'm playing with bots so not like they're going to do anything about it. As I go down and I'm extremely worried about sinking I go back to command and check the sonar and see something huge swimming towards us, maybe a moloch? Were rammed by it and I think it's definitely a moloch, until I see the health bar. Oh shit. So now begins the fight of our lives to save our dinky little ship. We do some pretty decent damage to the latcher until it floods are engine room and we sink down to the bottom of the abyss. Well shit. We spend 5 more minutes trying to fight the latcher before it finally manages to breach the vast majority of our rooms at once. Only problem is the AI has a tendency to lose diving suits and not put them back so suddenly two out of our five crew members pop. I decided to stop playing the game for a little while and contemplate life. I think I'll stick to subnautica for a little bit.
You can fix the Ai droping suits everywhere by tasking one of then to store stuff on their related storages, making this npc pick suits left around and put then back on their propper storage for o2 refuel, this way you can just drop the loot and unecessary equipment on the floor and let him/her do the rest for you
My first encounter with the latcher was during first travel to second biome. Got attack by pretty much everything in the game except the other two abssyal monster. Got attacked by mudraptors swarm (mission), two crawler mother, 2-3 occasional crawlers and range thing ambush, husk infected ship, hammerheads, skull threshers, molch, 4 ballast fioras parasites and a latcher. I had a lot of ammo and full Hull upgrade during the time so I was so confident I can take on anything. thank god I overprepared.Almost depleted all the ammos, dropped on top of the volcano with the abyss hole 5 feet away. The only Causality is that my pet died. I assume it is the fixed point where it will spawn unusual large amounts of monster.
4:38 that achievement is a little tricky to get, because you have to do the final blow on the monster to actually get the trophy if anything else kill it before you, you get nothing. I think i got my achievement after killing 4th or 5th endworm
To be honest, I think I prefer fighting the abyssal creatures over any of the “standard route” enemies. All I have to do is focus on one target, eliminate it and then have free reign to move around to the end. Oh, and of course, alien resources.
SO, lorewise I find it interesting that Charybdis looks like an apex predator version of a Tresher. Like if it is some giant species of Tresher or a prime version of a Tresher
First time we went into the abyss was complete accident. We were literally in the fully upgraded tier 1 Barsuk with a crew of 7 (along with friends). We got ambushed by a Broodmother Crawler and started sinking bad, we ended up going through a crack at the bottom that lead us to the abyss. We finally got stuff fixed when I ping once on sonar and I saw a latcher coming straight towards us and screamed to the top of my lungs at my crew. I knew what the latcher was, I just never expect the first encounter to be accidental. We all fuckin died unfortunately, and the crew was traumatized.
Latcher also follows your submarine for a huge distance. I and my friend beaten him back into Abyss and retreated, it followed us for 800 metres, the ending result was him bitting the captain room and shooting spikes at the same time.
I happened to be at my singleplayer match in a winterhalter when a group of hammerheads attacked the sub, and it fell to the abyss, there, an endworm was waiting and I was stuck there for 25 minutes till i finally killed it, the hardest achievement i got so far

And killed him few seconds later a lather attacks my sub I didn't know what was going on at the time so when I manned the gun I just unloaded but I didn't have piercing ammo so I sunk into the abyss. I'll never forget my first encounter with a thresher. Freshly fought off my first moloch with coilguns, it filled my sub with enough water to sink me to the abyss, landing me on a thresher... tried to get away from it as I had 0 chance to kill it. Got really unlucky and was right on top of the entrance to the abyss on a dugong submarine, got attacked by a swarm or mudraptors, ballast got flooded, then sank all the way down to a Latcher's mouth.
just killed a latcher recently, mainly used explosive chaingun ammo (i honestly have no idea how it works but the sub i had used coilgun ammo on its chain guns) and it turns out explosive ammo is really really strong. and boy did killing it feel great
I know you mentioned using frags in the rail gun shells but I was wondering if you can do a comparison video of all the explosives and maybe a few misc items you can load into the shells. Or are frags just always the best?
If you were going to fight the doom worm, then nukes with IC-4 Would be the best. However the real issue is getting enough Incedium. So its more of a question of how many times are you prepared to go into alien ruins or the abyss to get Incendium in order to provide the most damage. So i would say frag grenades are the best overall, as they are readily available, easy to craft and provide the best bang for time/effort put into grinding out resource for railgun shells. And yes i will do a weapons guide part 3, which will cover all the explosives in the game.
Actually abyss monsters aren't very threatening to crew as they won't enter the ship. It's mostly whether you have enough resources to shoot them down.

I have a love/hate relationship with Nuclear Armaments in this game, purely because the moment I switch from my Gunner on the railgun to my captain in order to try and improve the railgun’s line of fire, my gunner’s AI suddenly thinks it is a good idea to fire a nuclear railgun shell loaded with IC-4 (thrice) point blank at an abyss creature or a thresher swarm that is clawing at the hill of my Typhon. It’s such a pain to try and improve firing position and babysit the AI at the same time.
I am interested in this game but none of my friends would be interested in this type of game and tbh I just like playing solo sometimes. Are there any major downsides to playing solo and are there any mods that are highly recommended either for general game tweaks or to offset the negatives of having only 1 player.
solo can be a pretty chill ride. The bots are a little wacky but once you get the hang of using their priorities and get a decent crew its good. You can switch between any of your crew in solo as well so it makes it easy to take advantage of all the classes. Ek mods are pretty good for more equipment and toys, maybe a little overpowered but take the edge off early playthroughs when you're spooked, at least it did for me.

I started crafting UEX into C4s thinking they would do more damage ? Plastic is easy to come by. Grenades still better to use ? I;ve not fought any abyssal monsters as I mosntly been in the first biodome and barely into the second before restarting... But I always wanted to be prepared.. my favourit ship so far is the Herja, so I should be fully equipped to fight monsters. Thinking getting into the Krastal later into the game.
If you have the plastic yes C-4 will, however usually on a campaign, we only have 8-10 spare plastic at a given snapshot in time and usually that gets used for electronics, but by comparison, we always have 50+ iron, that is in surplus.
I don't understand how you are supposed to fight even one of the more minor bosses? Most of the time my crew isn't catching up with the hull breaches and the AI is still beyond stupid. Not to mention the constant push of weapons because everything hits like an earthquake. So how do you focus on the fight when the breaches are your biggest problem and you have to babysit a crew of braindead? I know about the upgrades, yet they seem to do little to nothing for me. EDIT: Also not to mention that even with all weapon slots equipped, the smaller monsters always manage to end up inside the dead angels of the submarine. I don't understand combat in this otherwise great game.

Me and the boys killed endworm😎
No fractal destroyer? :megamind peeking:
very nice :)
Who would win. A creature with 50,000 hp or a clown with a dream
dreams can be strong things ;)
Herja isn't for solo play.
The turret is so far from command room.
I don't know why every UA-camr don't keep playing barontrauma
I just wish I could sneak past them, no matter what I do,they home in on my sub even from miles away, sonar off mind you.
hahaha, i took one down in a 2 crew submarine, took us like one hour but we made it
I don't understand how you are supposed to fight even one of the more minor bosses? Most of the time my crew isn't catching up with the hull breaches and the AI is still beyond stupid.
Not to mention the constant push of weapons because everything hits like an earthquake. So how do you focus on the fight when the breaches are your biggest problem and you have to babysit a crew of braindead? I know about the upgrades, yet they seem to do little to nothing for me.
EDIT: Also not to mention that even with all weapon slots equipped, the smaller monsters always manage to end up inside the dead angels of the submarine.
I don't understand combat in this otherwise great game.
Yesterday one "Sanguja" attacks My submarine
What's that monters? is a new one?
Yes, that is the Spanish name for the Latcher.
Is this guide still work in current version of the game?
Most of it, yes
these arent a threat when u use nuclear railgun shells
Wouldn't C-4 in railguns be better then frags ?
no cost vs damage, grenades are better.
@@IronicandDead cool thanks , is pyconium a good sub for nuclear shells the radiation is rather bothersome
@@lordkoth6735 yes, but very expensive
@@IronicandDead ok thanks , keep making the good content
what about cyborg worm
Killed a doomworm with 2 player crew :D
I sadly never got this far

can you make a guide on how to get a girlfriend?
i really need this
Thats easier than killing mudraptors, all you need is a fat bank account. Ezpz
lol don't we all.
For latcher it retreats if you shoot it with explosive flak then come back after 15 seconds for an endless retreating loop
half a year late but it retreats at any sign of high enough damage***
