No, they were never dating. They met once, liked eachother. She was married. But decided to keep in touch with him. And they've never even kissed before. It's not that hard to understand. Plus in Laura's defence, how was she supposed to know Bernado would ever come and see her? She thought they might never see eachother again, it's fair that she decided to move on.

They had also broken up before and got back together right before the show started. That indicates there were problems already. I don't know why he wouldn't trust her with Marco, she always behaved appropriately around him. He may be real jealous which is just ugh.
