Its interesting (and frustrating) how one of the simplest things can be so difficult, such as getting the plastic enclosure made (like, all the electronics can be done at any scale).. I am indeed looking at 10-50 unit range (I think so anyway) but FDM printing doesnt have the finish I would like (also shape requires quite a few supports).. Considering getting an SLA printer which would probably work, but I dont want to nor have space to deal with that mess… Am also considering to print once (FDM with manual sanding /finishing or SLA) then casting and molding, no experience with that either.. but it would be nice to do it myself and perhaps do some iteration.. already sort of designing it with injection molding guidelines; 1 undercut, angled walls etc.. so casting should work.. Aluminum injection molds might be a cheaper entry what im reading online, those mold prices you mentioned were probably aluminum right? Anyway still wayy to expensive for the stage im at.
