TheJuggernauter There are 2 main reasons for the tires to be thin/skinny : 1/ they have to go through the passage of many cars before them so it "digs" snow ways on the road, ways that you cannot come out of easily without these specific thin tires. 2/ The spikes go deeper in the ice part of the road if the tires are thin because the whole weight of the car is on a more little part of tires. Little technical to explain but simple to understand, right ?
