Qatar fan accommodation: Concerns about capacity proven wrong

- The organisers of Qatar 2022 World Cup say they have proved critics, who had said the country of less than three million people could not handle an influx of more than a million fans, wrong.
With rooms available in hotels, cruise ships and fan villages, they say concerns about capacity have been debunked.

They did far more than what the mainstream media was projecting.
Far more worker deaths you mean?

It became the best FIFA WC because it's interactive for all fans around the world. All stadiums were near and easily accessible by metro & bus in 1.5 hours average. Same accessibility to all fan zones & tourist spots. All fans enjoyed the interactions with different nationalities around the globe. Having groupies with others fans everywhere, really united as one.
I stayed on the msc cruise ship and the organization and logistics were fantastic!!! The buses to and from the cruises to the metro were so easy to use, and there were so many event staff to help us along the way!!! "Metro? Dis way". Truly legendary!!! This world cup was amazing for fans. Everthing was in one amazing city and so easy to get around!!!
The background the Adhan ( call to prayer) so magnificent beautiful.
We stayed in a villa and had a great time. There were 8 villas in the compound and only 3 were occupied for most of our stay (Nov 30- Dec 6). At times we were the only ones staying there as well. I can say one thing for sure, in terms of convenience no one can beat Qatar (perks of a compact worldcup)
Qatar has done a wonderful job hosting the 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup. Many haters are left eating humble pie. Bravo Qatar!
on the back of dead south asians, well done qatar!
The @BBC must be the most humiliated one by the success of Fifa22 in Qatar. Those guys have had a whole 10 years of negative reporting.
Knowing about the facts versus bias report, the BBC News ceased reporting.
Honestly, Qatar has hosted the best world cup by miles.
definitely not!
It all depends on the agenda of the person going there, those with negative agendas will always complain no matter what. But those who went with an open mind had a great time.
Congratulations Qatar, it’s definitely a proud moment for your countrymen

Congratulations to qatar for having such a great event 👏
If western media saw a small lightbulb in Qatar that needs to be replaced the bbc headlines would be like: "darkness in the capital Doha" 😂😂 They are jealous af. Qatar doesn't have time to waste on that while it's managing the greatest world cup in human history.
Jealous and VERY bitter 😂 they've been proved wrong so they are tryna find any excuse to put Qatar down. They also hate the fact that a lot of people have said the tournament has been family friendly due to no Alcohol. ❤️Qatar from 🇳🇬✌🏾
I stayed in both fan village accommodation the ones with cabins and the ones with tent, cabins were great but the tents were horrible with no air conditioning system only fans with shared toilets and bathrooms
The tents were for Bedouins. They are used to that life. They cannot afford the villas😀
its a tent... man went in a tent looking for AC
Spectators around the world saw the best of best football and feed back from Qatar.
Qatar should be given credit. Please.
not at all, due to it being in winter the teams weren’t able to train well, on of the worst worldcups
+$200 dollar for a container😂
Which is in Qatar fifa ( WORLD ) cup
That is reasonable price in such big events.....you seems like a person who have never visited any big events across globe. Do visit once, you will end up in a small tent with washroom facility for $200.
i think most people just stay for 2 to 3 days
There were other options available as well from 84$. If you are a big group there are plenty of villas available throughout the tournament as well. We stayed in one of the villas and had an amazing time.
@@farhanalam2214 "such big events" and talking about tents, i guess you are talking about festivals. Festivals are, just like these fan villages, purpose-built. Purpose-built accommodations have such a high cost due to the costs of setting up and breaking down for the accommodation-providers to be able to make a small profit.
Here we are talking about a world cup which is usually hosted in a, relatively, big city/country/.... with plenty of existing accommodation. None of the previous world cups had such a high daily rate (you can look it up).
I am not taking anything away from what Qatar has done so far from producing accommodations but it might have made more sense to have a GCC world cup where Saudi and the UAE (which both have plenty of stadiums) would have collaborated with. Both of these countries also have plenty of hotel rooms, in which the visitors would not have to bear the costs of building these make-shift rooms and actually had a better experience.
Just one man's opinion though
Far fewer people visited Qatar than expected and most them came in through Dubai shuttle service flights and hence why do they need to stay in Qatar
Don’t be jealous.. Jealousy will hurt you 😅
Just Came back from Doha 🇶🇦 the Main problem is Cost ! Everything else is perfect.
Best Qatar .Colonial are jealous.
What you dont realize is they kicked residents out of their apartments just so they could rent them to Fifa visitors. Created leases designated to end a week before world cup started.
Big Ups to Qatar!!

Qatar did great for world cup.
But I have to say they failed when it comes to accommodation.
Expensive and no availability during 24-28 Nov
I have not been to qatar, my concern is the working condition of migrants worker. 6500 died for this world cup
Only 3 deaths directly related to WC construction works - Mr Hasan Thawadi
@@komunitidarulkautsar9328 no no, I am frm Nepal, I know how people come in coffins after they die from overworking. It's a reality here, can't say it's not true
@@doctormafia6300 That number 6500 comes from the Guardian which didn't explain how those people died, it says that 37 people died directly as a cause of building the stadiums in which most or all are ''non-work related deaths'' while 3 are work-related deaths. World Cup chief Hassan al-Thawadi said 400-500 migrant workers died and put the same number 37 and 3 about work and non-work related deaths. We should also do statistics on how many people died making food, clothes, materials in general for the West. I think you should be concerned of USA which invaded Iraq which later made the creation of ISIS possible, since USA will host next World Cup. USA killed so many innocent people in Iraq.
@@Ali-xx8ej 6500 is the number of all migrant worker that have died in qatar in last 10 yrs. Most of these people died under suspicion circumstances. The number is frm 5 south Asian countries: Pakistan 🇵🇰, India 🇮🇳, nepal 🇳🇵, bangladesh 🇧🇩 and sri Lanka 🇱🇰. They died in their sleep, collapsed while working. No autopsy was done. They were packed in boxes n sent back home. Saying 3 n 37 died because of physical injuries is misleading. Snatching the passport of worker, making them work in blazing heat, not letting them transfer from one company to another, not paying them on time are all practice of slavery. If u want to be taken as a modern nation act like one.
@@doctormafia6300 so you are saying one of the biggest believers in western media not so true stories.
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." Jesus Christ
We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God.
Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.
Jealous pindus are everywhere
"Al Jazeera is funded in whole or in part by the Qatari government." How many bribes and deaths to get this cup?
Next world cup, it will be Uncle Sam land, land of the free and home of the brave, so much that word.
In this moment we remember those poor souls who lost their life for building those stadiums under poor safety standards and living conditions.
stop being poor and bad government
Actually look into the numbers, the mortality rate of construction workers in Qatar was under 0.1% per year. For comparison Switzerland has a mortality rate of 0.6%, UK 1% and Germany 1.2%
From my perspective having fewer deaths than Western European countries is a cause for applause. Minimising deaths is a priority and Qatar has done the best job at it at the global level
To give further context, with the UK’s mortality rate applied to the 1.04 million workers across Qatar there would have been more than 50000 deaths
Crying 😭😭😭
George Galloway has a great segment on this! Media twists TRUTH'S
Who would want to go there anyway?...more likely to find the decomposing cadaver of a forgotten worker in the walls than anything else...
Westerns of course. As far as I know they had no problems visiting Israel where authorities build settlements on palestinian graves.
