My biggest problem is that there’s nothing for old players to do, which was fine until they also removed player xp from quests. There’s literally no reason for old players to log in anymore and it’s so annoying and frustrating
literally all my horses are maxed and i cant buy a new one, i dont have any quests...why should i log in? if i do buy a new horse itll be maxed in three days...its so boring
My biggest rants would be that the racing system is really not fun anymore, and that they’re releasing more horses than quests, so now we’re stuck just buying horses, when we actually want to be questing and getting up to level 23
The new Dark Riders bother me a whole lot because they completely 180'd Sabine, Jessica being genderbent is _not_ trans rep, Katja was my favorite in her original characterization and all of it is gone, and the one I can't remember the name of is literally a *child?* They don't fit together, they don't work as a group, they are not threatening whatsoever, and they're all generic "pure evil, taunting you only when they see you, mess stuff up but minimal damage aside from empty threats" villains now and it is such a _shame._ Anyone remember the quest we had to rescue our Starter horse from the Dark Core rig? I had DAYS of struggling to get through that quest and I remember being so incredibly proud when I did. The quests now are easy, sugar-coated races that hold no stakes. The biggest highlight I've seen in recent times is SSO killing off Elizabeth- which I cried at, I was very attached to Elizabeth's character when I was younger- and Anne grieving Concorde and snapping because of how she feels. And- this may get me guillotined by the fandom- but I *can not stand* Darko. I hate that "character" with every fiber of my being. He's a goddamn Disney villain. Pure evil, no story, a petty little brat, and he is such a massive downgrade from Mr. Sands that I cringe whenever SSO brings him in all high and mighty acting like he's so goddamn scary. Maybe it's because I have a certain liking for villains with depth (blame American Horror Story and Scream Queens for that) but Mr. Sands as a character came with a special kind of nostalgia for me, among the depth he'd been given recently during the Catherine quests, only for it to be completely dropped in favor of having *Darko, this goddamn nobody* kill *Elizabeth, who had been with us since the beginning.* And that's where my bitterness stems from, I think. The fact they REALLY had Darko be the one to kill such a loved character in the storyline. Having one of the *original* Dark Riders do it somehow, or have Mr. Sands find a way to do it himself, maybe using his involvement with Garnok, would have had _that much_ more weight to Elizabeth dying, especially since this was also a ripple effect of saving Anne, which again, had nothing to do with Darko. I haven't played in a while, and it's been forever since I did these quests, so I'm sorry if I'm remembering wrong, but I just. I genuinely hate Darko so much- He's not even a character. He just gets shoved in whenever SSO wants him to be like he's some special big-bad for us to defeat when I genuinely think a kick from an Irish Cob could kill him. He's a villain out of a kids' TV show.
yea I don't get the Jessica (Jay) thing. because SSO does use She/her pronouns for the character still, while Jay looks more like a boy or a non binary person. I kinda wished they left Jessica female, because she would've looked so cool!
i hate how instead of making a trans character they ruined an existing character. i dont get why it was so hard to just make a trans character from the start.
By far my biggest rant about the game is that they seldom remaster a character, they rewrite them. I really liked Lisa's original design, ngl Anne definitley got the best of all the remasters. I admit I am not a huge fan of how Sabine looks now but I like her attitude. That dark rider with the toy horse tho, is straight up a villain from the barbie movies when it passed it's good era lol she's literally the one from secret door

When you said “Did you at one point like it…” really spoke to me because although I don’t play it as much now my past self had so much fun and i could never regret that.
For me, one of the most annoying things is that there is no keybinding option. For a game that constantly talks about inclusivity, this would be one of the first things to include in your game, as it would allow players, especially people with disabilities, to optimise the controls to their own needs.

I've been playing sso since 2017 and the game used to be so much more fun back then, we rarely got horse updates or new horses which I honestly liked bc it made it sooooo exciting whenever a new horse was coming. and also the quests were so much better !!! I don't know if I'd say I miss the "old starstable" bc the game is much better developed now and it looks nicer, but I do miss how fun it used to be. maybe that's just me getting older tho haha
I been around since the beginning and there are races gone that used to be in the game that I really miss. and your right about old players dont really have much to do anymore. I pretty much log in and grind a horse up to level 15 doing races.
I’ve been playing since 2014 and I had so much fun, I grew up tho. I still play it the game just not as much as I used to. I still love the game, it’s just I got no Motivation to do as much to do the stuff on it as much

WARNING A LITERAL NOVEL. I watched this SSO documentary last night made by a Player and it was an hour long on why star stable is going down hill. It was very informative, they went into detail and pulled actual receipts. The reason why SSO’s story line doesn’t make sense is because They don’t have a set “Quest team”. They don’t have a department dedicated to writing, Designing, Programming etc for the quests. Which makes sense for a number of things 1. The storyline doesn’t make sense and they add stuff randomly like no tomorrow 2. Why we only get new main story quests like twice a year. Also allegedly there was a “Lore book” where all the Quest dialog was written down and information (so future quests can make sense) and supposedly when The SSO team moved office they lost the Lore book and that’s why the Quests are made up. Can we all not forget that The map we have on SSO is only Meant to be Half of Jorvik and there is meant to be a lot more. SSO is so slow on bringing out Game Development’s in the last 11-12 years, we have gotten Dino,Golden hills, Jarla, Epona, mistsfull, tall top, pandoria and south hoof. We really haven’t gotten a lot of content and the main Quest line is not even half way through. The development is super slow, I started playing when I was 9 and I’m now 18. So by logistics I would be like 30 when SSO finishes the game. Also can we also note that The SSO team has changed so much of the original older quests for new players. So no one’s story is the same, it really is a mess and they need to get their crap together because it’s ridiculous. The updated characters don’t make any sense also. Lisa was originally a “punk” rock chick and they turned her country? The only person they semi did justice for in my opinion is Anne. But even then they kinda botched her. I feel like SSO just started remaking and adding different personalities and styles for every single Soul rider. If you want to watch the documentary I can give you the persons name, it is an hour long but extremely informative it really made the think and my jaw was dropped the whole way through. I just can’t believe me, an adult would care so much about a horse game that I played relentlessly my childhood. But I do.

I started playing this game at the beginning of COVID sense I got bored. I quickly fell out of the game as I saw how expensive the game was and how hard it was to get horses. I used to watch you all the time and decided to come back and watch. Thank you for the fun times :D
There’s also no challenge which I feel like older players (older in age) want which is why ETG has become so popular because the only way to get money to buy horses and upgrade your area is by competing in different levels of shows and training your horses, in my opinion sso is way too easy and that’s why they’re having problems keeping older players enjoying the game
My biggest rant would probably be there are hardly any quests now and I’m bored of just training all the time and also just random but I think a good idea for a training time would be, things you would want back from the old sso or what you would want to do in sso for the first time again, btw love ur vids 💖
remember when you had to actually TRAIN the horse to jump higher lol you couldn't compete in some races because a horse was not to a certain level lol.

Ngl my biggest rant about sso is actually towards other players really crap talking the developers whenever an area is redone or something is redone for the betterment of the game. Like when Steve's farm and silver glade were redone so many players on my server were so mean about. I totally understand people have nostalgia with sso but the game can't be the same forever:/
exactly! they can't please everyone. they didnt redo those areas just for the sake of it, but to fit in with the rest of the areas as everything is slowly getting redone. but ig alot of people hold attachments to those areas and cant bare it ever changing bc it was what they were used to for a long time, even if it was outdated af
ngl you have a point, i did hate the steves farm update at first and have a lot of memories from the old steves farm (and the dumb square arena ofc), but honestly your right there isnt anything wrong with them changing it as years go by.
I totally get you! I can understand nostalgia, but people must understand that old coding is going to break the game and then there won't be anything for anyone. It would be a nice thing if people would be able to recreate the game with older rgaphics and then only have the storyquests. kinda like how they redid SSL for their tenth Birthday.

seriously same, idk it’s just so comforting and nostalgic to me, it’s great. Horses are amazing as well. i suffer with severe anxiety and deal with it 24/7. it sucks. star stable to me is just one of those things which help me escape.
I've been playing this game since 2014 or before i don't remember. But I do know that sso has had such a great impact on my life regardless of the crappy way it's turned. I've met some of my favorite people on here, and one being my best friend of now 7 years, who I got to meet in person right before covid hit. Also my club who is my second family (Happy Town). But on the note of where the game is going, I agree there are too many horses and not enough player XP. I, along with many others, are stuck on level 22 and just want to advance but honestly the only reason I log on anymore is for club stuff (which is fairly rare) or a walk through greendale. I tend to log on and go on a trail ride or somethin when I'm not feeling great, or it's late at night and I want to relax. Just listening to the music is one of the good parts of sso that I enjoy. I miss the old silverglade music and I'm afraid they're gonna take away the other old music that brings me, and i'm sure many other players, lots of nostalgia. It's been my favorite game since childhood, the game that got me to ride irl, and the game that's kept me happy so many years.

I left a box talking about how the sso team deserves more but I regret saying that, last night someone hacked my account and when I contacted customer support, they brushed me off and said I wasn’t hacked when I obviously was, all of my stuff (including my 80+ horses) were sold. And it basically broke me because I had just gotten back into sso and it really just destroyed me. The sso team refused to help me further than restoring 10 of my 80 sold horses. I’ve wasted HUNDREDS of dollars, and I know it’s just a pixel horse game but I feel like I’ve made so many friends and memories on sso, it honestly was my first online game, my entire internet persona is based on sso and now…it’s all gone without anyone saying “it will be ok, I’ll help you”
I’ve been playing since 2013, got lifetime membership in 2014. I get back on occasionally every couple of months or so and just do everything for a week when it’s available. As an old player, I guess a few things to mention is just the lack of quests, although the ones they put out every once in a while are okay since the dialogue can be funny. as for the characters, some of the re-renderings are really out there, and don’t even look like their old designs, but I’m also appreciative of it as well, as i watched the game have Linda be the only form of poc representation in the entire game, to a multitude of characters spanning across multiple different backgrounds, which I think was really cool to see. what I would love is for our character to see a remodel, as it is weird seeing our low-poly main character next to fully rendered, animated models. also maybe maybe a bump-up for the allowance of star coins every week, because 100 seems so little for the stuff they’re selling in-game lol the game is certainly not the worst, but i do believe that there is more they could be doing with quests that would add more to the game, rather than having an event there and here with minimal quests. obviously they’re not going to be able to appeal to every players wish, but there is certainly room for improvement! :)
a little bit ahead (like 7 seconds) of 8:52 I had a club with my friends, Emerald Snakes United. It wasn't huge but I enjoyed it, I remember the disappointment when they said they were disbanding in the discord. I'm still really good friends with the owner but we don't talk much anymore. As upsetting as it is now I'm still glad I got to have those moments.

I remember playing this game from 2015-2020. It was the best time of my life and ive spent so much on this game and made so many friends that i now know irl and we still hang out till this day. I miss this game and saw this video and clicked on it its giving me a lot of nostaglia. I miss the calls with my clubs where we would scream and laugh and play around in the game with glitches. A lot has changed since the old days. I just returned a couple of months ago and was like wow. Now I have completed all that i can and pretty much I just grind a horse up to level 15 day after day doing races and trying to beat my old times.
I wished there was a feature to replay missions. Everytime I feel a little depressed by current SSO, I either re-watch old videos from 2013-2016 or more rarely I create a new account and I replay the very first missions, just for the nostalgia. I'm having a hard time to let go, it feels like a therapy session to do this 😭

My biggest rant is that they have changed the map SO MUCH in only CERTAIN places.. like- For example- they completely changed silverglade village but they won't do ANYTHING with Valedale village. and this is different- But the update where you can "browse" horses and stuff- AND THEY MOVED THE HORSES AROUND UGH🖐😃
I think they are slowly but surely (and, when I say slowly I mean very slowly...) getting around to those areas... Tbh I don't wanna know what they will do too Vale.

In my opinion, Silverglade changed too much. And now it looks like a "Modern Town" I guess. I dunno, im an old player, and happy for the Improvement but it's just so much.

The one thing I like about Valedale (it being my hs.) is how kind of small the area is (being mostly made up of Hollow woods.) I like me some small and cozy areas that not a lot of players visit while it being in the middle of everything, (Some may argue that Steve is in the middle of everything I agree but, I see Vale as more of a middle point.) I've been playing since around 2015.

I think the Jorvik shillings thing is to get you to go buy stuff with star coins because if it goes over your limit you have to use sc and if it's close to it you have to work really hard to get the shillings again just to be emptied out by one item or horse it's supposed to put pressure on players and their patience and time or to get them to panic buy on limited events.
My biggest rant is the quests. Doing reputation can get annoying and if we have MANY quests in all places in the map that would be amazing, I skip through the quest lines or I read it but either way it gives u something to do u get items, horse xp, and character xp.

Which makes sense for a number of things 1. The storyline doesn’t make sense and they add stuff randomly like no tomorrow 2. Why we only get new main story quests like twice a year.
Also allegedly there was a “Lore book” where all the Quest dialog was written down and information (so future quests can make sense) and supposedly when The SSO team moved office they lost the Lore book and that’s why the Quests are made up.
Can we all not forget that The map we have on SSO is only Meant to be Half of Jorvik and there is meant to be a lot more. SSO is so slow on bringing out Game Development’s in the last 11-12 years, we have gotten Dino,Golden hills, Jarla, Epona, mistsfull, tall top, pandoria and south hoof. We really haven’t gotten a lot of content and the main Quest line is not even half way through. The development is super slow, I started playing when I was 9 and I’m now 18. So by logistics I would be like 30 when SSO finishes the game. Also can we also note that The SSO team has changed so much of the original older quests for new players. So no one’s story is the same, it really is a mess and they need to get their crap together because it’s ridiculous. The updated characters don’t make any sense also. Lisa was originally a “punk” rock chick and they turned her country? The only person they semi did justice for in my opinion is Anne. But even then they kinda botched her. I feel like SSO just started remaking and adding different personalities and styles for every single Soul rider. If you want to watch the documentary I can give you the persons name, it is an hour long but extremely informative it really made the think and my jaw was dropped the whole way through. I just can’t believe me, an adult would care so much about a horse game that I played relentlessly my childhood. But I do.

I started playing this game at the beginning of COVID sense I got bored. I quickly fell out of the game as I saw how expensive the game was and how hard it was to get horses. I used to watch you all the time and decided to come back and watch. Thank you for the fun times :D

There’s also no challenge which I feel like older players (older in age) want which is why ETG has become so popular because the only way to get money to buy horses and upgrade your area is by competing in different levels of shows and training your horses, in my opinion sso is way too easy and that’s why they’re having problems keeping older players enjoying the game

remember when you had to actually TRAIN the horse to jump higher lol you couldn't compete in some races because a horse was not to a certain level lol.

Ngl my biggest rant about sso is actually towards other players really crap talking the developers whenever an area is redone or something is redone for the betterment of the game. Like when Steve's farm and silver glade were redone so many players on my server were so mean about. I totally understand people have nostalgia with sso but the game can't be the same forever:/
exactly! they can't please everyone. they didnt redo those areas just for the sake of it, but to fit in with the rest of the areas as everything is slowly getting redone. but ig alot of people hold attachments to those areas and cant bare it ever changing bc it was what they were used to for a long time, even if it was outdated af

I totally get you! I can understand nostalgia, but people must understand that old coding is going to break the game and then there won't be anything for anyone. It would be a nice thing if people would be able to recreate the game with older rgaphics and then only have the storyquests. kinda like how they redid SSL for their tenth Birthday.

Honestly I owe a lot to star stable, watching videos about it and playing the game is what got me back into horse riding
seriously same, idk it’s just so comforting and nostalgic to me, it’s great. Horses are amazing as well. i suffer with severe anxiety and deal with it 24/7. it sucks. star stable to me is just one of those things which help me escape.

I've been playing this game since 2014 or before i don't remember. But I do know that sso has had such a great impact on my life regardless of the crappy way it's turned. I've met some of my favorite people on here, and one being my best friend of now 7 years, who I got to meet in person right before covid hit. Also my club who is my second family (Happy Town). But on the note of where the game is going, I agree there are too many horses and not enough player XP. I, along with many others, are stuck on level 22 and just want to advance but honestly the only reason I log on anymore is for club stuff (which is fairly rare) or a walk through greendale. I tend to log on and go on a trail ride or somethin when I'm not feeling great, or it's late at night and I want to relax. Just listening to the music is one of the good parts of sso that I enjoy. I miss the old silverglade music and I'm afraid they're gonna take away the other old music that brings me, and i'm sure many other players, lots of nostalgia. It's been my favorite game since childhood, the game that got me to ride irl, and the game that's kept me happy so many years.

I left a box talking about how the sso team deserves more but I regret saying that, last night someone hacked my account and when I contacted customer support, they brushed me off and said I wasn’t hacked when I obviously was, all of my stuff (including my 80+ horses) were sold. And it basically broke me because I had just gotten back into sso and it really just destroyed me. The sso team refused to help me further than restoring 10 of my 80 sold horses. I’ve wasted HUNDREDS of dollars, and I know it’s just a pixel horse game but I feel like I’ve made so many friends and memories on sso, it honestly was my first online game, my entire internet persona is based on sso and now…it’s all gone without anyone saying “it will be ok, I’ll help you”
@Idotic Moron yes, and i understand that but instead of immediately brushing off the report, they should at least see what the problem is first.
I’ve been playing since 2013, got lifetime membership in 2014. I get back on occasionally every couple of months or so and just do everything for a week when it’s available. As an old player, I guess a few things to mention is just the lack of quests, although the ones they put out every once in a while are okay since the dialogue can be funny.
as for the characters, some of the re-renderings are really out there, and don’t even look like their old designs, but I’m also appreciative of it as well, as i watched the game have Linda be the only form of poc representation in the entire game, to a multitude of characters spanning across multiple different backgrounds, which I think was really cool to see.
what I would love is for our character to see a remodel, as it is weird seeing our low-poly main character next to fully rendered, animated models. also maybe maybe a bump-up for the allowance of star coins every week, because 100 seems so little for the stuff they’re selling in-game lol
the game is certainly not the worst, but i do believe that there is more they could be doing with quests that would add more to the game, rather than having an event there and here with minimal quests. obviously they’re not going to be able to appeal to every players wish, but there is certainly room for improvement! :)

a little bit ahead (like 7 seconds) of 8:52 I had a club with my friends, Emerald Snakes United. It wasn't huge but I enjoyed it, I remember the disappointment when they said they were disbanding in the discord. I'm still really good friends with the owner but we don't talk much anymore. As upsetting as it is now I'm still glad I got to have those moments.
Lowkey hate how much money I spent on the game but the memories sso and it’s community gave me, will make me never delete it.

thank you for saying what you said in this jul 15 video about people using the game as an escape to true when their life is upsetting or not happy and sometimes take it out on the people playing the game unfortunately sadly it can ruin some people game time.
I remember playing this game from 2015-2020. It was the best time of my life and ive spent so much on this game and made so many friends that i now know irl and we still hang out till this day. I miss this game and saw this video and clicked on it its giving me a lot of nostaglia. I miss the calls with my clubs where we would scream and laugh and play around in the game with glitches. Honestly i miss this game a lot but it has gotten so boring for me for some reason. I do remember having lifetime sr tho i must be rich i should probably check out whats new again haha
A lot has changed since the old days. I just returned a couple of months ago and was like wow. Now I have completed all that i can and pretty much I just grind a horse up to level 15 day after day doing races and trying to beat my old times.

I wished there was a feature to replay missions. Everytime I feel a little depressed by current SSO, I either re-watch old videos from 2013-2016 or more rarely I create a new account and I replay the very first missions, just for the nostalgia. I'm having a hard time to let go, it feels like a therapy session to do this 😭

My biggest rant is that they have changed the map SO MUCH in only CERTAIN places.. like- For example- they completely changed silverglade village but they won't do ANYTHING with Valedale village. and this is different- But the update where you can "browse" horses and stuff- AND THEY MOVED THE HORSES AROUND UGH🖐😃
I think they are slowly but surely (and, when I say slowly I mean very slowly...) getting around to those areas... Tbh I don't wanna know what they will do too Vale.
@@aweirdhuman8580 Honestly agreed. Like- Silverglade village was supposed to be a "rustic" Village, and what they turned it into is almost like jorvik city. In my opinion, Silverglade changed too much. And now it looks like a "Modern Town" I guess. I dunno, im an old player, and happy for the Improvement but it's just so much.
@@Daydreamgal I personally don't really care for this more "open" feel they are going/cartering for. The one thing I like about Valedale (it being my hs.) is how kind of small the area is (being mostly made up of Hollow woods.) I like me some small and cozy areas that not a lot of players visit while it being in the middle of everything, (Some may argue that Steve is in the middle of everything I agree but, I see Vale as more of a middle point.) I've been playing since around 2015.

I think the Jorvik shillings thing is to get you to go buy stuff with star coins because if it goes over your limit you have to use sc and if it's close to it you have to work really hard to get the shillings again just to be emptied out by one item or horse it's supposed to put pressure on players and their patience and time or to get them to panic buy on limited events.

My biggest rant is the quests. Doing reputation can get annoying and if we have MANY quests in all places in the map that would be amazing, I skip through the quest lines or I read it but either way it gives u something to do u get items, horse xp, and character xp.
