I have no idea what this show is about, but we are having weekly Sharon covers so I am just rolling with it and enjoying the new songs
It is a show about artists making covers of the other artists present. Each week 1 artist gets covered. It is a Belgian show but with also dutch artists (Like Sharon) sometimes. The original song is by: Niels Destadsbader: vandaag

het is toch belachelijk dat in het buitenland meer aandacht word besteed aan nedelandse metal talent dan in nederland zelf.
Het is inderdaad een schande. Moet je kijken wat we hier allemaal hebben rondlopen (Charlotte Wessels, Simone Simons, Anneke van Giersbergen etc) waarvan de meeste mensen nog steeds niets gehoord hebben. Gelukkig heeft Floor Jansen nu een beetje bekendheid gekregen bij het grote publiek door aan Beste Zangers mee te doen dus wie weet verandert er nu iets.

The guy who is creeping you out is the original artists of the song Sharon is covering. He is a young Belgian talented Flemish artist. He was just impressed by this version. Cause that is what the show is about famous artist covering each other songs in their own style.

Hi John,
This is a show where colleagues from the industry celebrate each others work by singing on of their songs possibly with a personal touch/twist. The songs they pick can be from the artist or something that had a huge impact on them as an artist. There is no competitive element just a very intimate setting enjoying each others accomplishments. The Belgium version is called "liefde voor muziek" *for the sake of the song* the Dutch version is called *beste zangers*
" best singers" . I'm not 100% sure on the Belgium series but in the Dutch each week they celebrate one artist while the others take turns singing a song. Both shows gained global attraction by Sharon on the Belgium one and Floor (Jansen of Nightwish) on the Dutch version.
Most important element for me on both shows is the ultimate respect across genres and the complete absence of competition.
All that to say
Keep on rocking in the free world.

Sharon was the only foreign artist as she was as Holland artists part of a Belgian show, where famous flemish artist cover each other best songs. So all the Belgians already knew each other as established artists.
Sam Smith I am not sure. Both shows in holland and belgium give the artist some time to prepare the song( think weeks like a few months). Some times they never heard about the artist some time they are their biggest fan and look up to him/her like a god(es).
