i remember getting the flu when i was a kid and my mom was nice enough to buy me a game for my sick days...i picked this one...didnt sleep for 2 days and beat it! It blew my mind, I became obsessed with mitochondria, and this became my all time fave SQUARE(soft) game :) I hope you enjoy this game as much as I did!
Be carefull!!! For some reason, that i never understood why, the game doesn't let you search if you are running around, you actually have to walk and press the button to search stuff. So if you try to search while holding the run button you might miss things. Otherwise it feels so good to see this again... also i feel old... '98... 'Eve' almighty...
Oh my Gab, I'm so glad you're finally playing this game! pro tip! If you're close enough to enemies (if you can) you can do more damage to them than you usually would. basically if you're too far you'll do less damage. think of it as Fatal Frame with guns when you're close to ghosts.

This is gonna be aaaawwwwsome!!!!! btw, the green bar named "PE" is the parasite energy a.k.a. "MP", they regenerates over time during battle, the HP are only numerical (HP 20/20 etc...). When the AT (active time) bar gets full you can choose between attacking or open the main menu (same button as while you're exploring) and use an item from the inventory, change your equipment or use a spell from the PE menu! oh and limited slots in your inventory, so item management for you darling! P.S. The green bar above your HP in the PE menu ( where you used the "heal" spell ) is a representation of how much of the PE bar that specific spell will drain.
Word to the wise, always save before crafting, as it's a little confusing and once you do it, there is no going back. Oh, and always talk to people at least twice. The second cop outside would have given you more ammo a few times if you kept talking to him.
I got home from playing pathfinder and I see your playing this. Made my day. This is one of my favorite games of all time. I did want to say you can use your PE or items during combat. When your AT is full you can access the menu like out of combat to use them. Oh and the green bar regenerates during combat, but the more you use it in combat the slower it does. Out of combat it does not recover at all. I'll save some other tips for when it looks like you need them. I love the soundtrack to this game. I now need to go and listen to it again. Anyway, Have fun!

Used to watch my dad play this. He would pretend the characters were saying funny things and act ridiculous. He was a mean guy but this is one of the few good memories I have of him.
The game was actually based off the book Parasite Eve by Hideaki Sena. It's split into three parts. the first is very Sciencey and less fiction. but it gives you more insight on what happened in the game. (with the virus) You should try and read it if you can find it.
This game is awesome, Gab! Hope you'll continue until the end (until that freaking long 99+ floor building)! And that Femme Fatales song is still beautiful to listen to.

I really love the story of this game! I've played this one, still have the original copy for PS1 and I have the 2nd one too. They did one for the Vita but it is a really different style of game, was not a huge fan. Love all the horror games you play we have a lot in common! I watch, read and play horror genre. I like Studio Ghibli too. Looking forward to more videos! I'm needle felting the Cheshire Cat from Alice Madness Returns which is a darkly beautiful game. If you ever cosplay you'd make a spot on Alice. :)

Came over due to the Vlog. chose the right time. Parasite Eve is utterly wonderful! Though originally I came over because looked and sounds like someone I knew in Washington or Alaska (forget which) so got curious. Parasite Eve: Originally a book from Japan (good book though complicagted at times) then it was 1 or 2 (depending on how you count) movies. That was pretty good, and closer to the book. Then Parasite eve 1 game, which is partially set after the movie, sorta. then parasite eve 2. also good game. then third birthday. Which.. kind of throws all the rules of the previous games and canon out in some weird ways. I'm pretty sure it wasn't originally a parasite eve game, but they tacked it on at some point. Statue of liberty is green because of the patina on the copper. She's fully coated in copper, about the thickness of 2 pennies but the salt of the sea-water causes a protective coating on her (the green layer is a natural reaction, hence semi-precious metal, even nature itself protects it from decay). All finds in the ground that are bronze or copper have this 'patina' as well... so, it's not weird, it's a fact of nature... Great game-choice btw, ... out of the old box :)
This series took such a weird trajectory, from the original sci fi horror book, then the live movie, to this rpg type game, then survival horror in Parasite Eve 2, and a weird time travel plot action game in the 3rd game.
I remember reading the intro. Nicely written I could picture it all in my head. Hyped, I sought out the game and eventually I find it. I was so disappointed when I saw graphic quality of the game.
I started playing this last week. I completed it 8 time now lol but I do it to build up my gear to Max, still no we're near Max yet. Great game. I think it's better then part 2
if you get the chance. replay the beginning up to eve playimg the piano. but when you enter the room dont aproach her imidiatly. Youll get to hear the best usic track in the game

oh and your PE is the green bar! it fills over time in battle :D
Sometimes it stops filling up though and you need to change armors to get it to continue charging.
