We, my wife and I, saw San Fermin This Weds (10/22) at Webster Hall---hand-down: the best show I/we have ever seen. We are a San Fermin family (with children, 3 and a 7, who listen to and sing "Sonsick" [we cough each time a particular--ummm--word is sung] over and over)! Bravo, Ellis! &...hearing Charlene live was beyond---BEYOND!!! Brava, Charlene! Bravi, San Fermin!!! Haruna, my wife, this morning said, "We are San Fermin-aholics!" Too true...
Please, for the love of all that is good keep making that beautiful music. You guys may not have won the rotation but I can't think of anyone else that I'd rather hear on the radio right now.
Discovered this band on Sunday when they opened for Alt-J in Portland, halfway through performing this song I was instantly in love with them. I can't believe I'd never heard them before, definitely my new favorite band.
I had the same experience. They opened for Alt-J in Cincinnati in 2015, and I fell in love. Personally, I thought they did better than Alt-J during the concert. I guess Alt-J is just not a concert type band. I got to see them again two months latter. Can't get enough of them.
I remember when they opened for Alt-J when I saw them in Portland, San Fermin is one of those very rare bands that sounds even more amazing live. I remember on the drive home from the concert I immediately looked them up and blasted them on the stereo all the way back to the coast. It was love at first listen.
This should have more views then it haves, this is my jam. Really, give a chance and listen to it all the way to the end and I bet you'll be hooked and hitting the replay button. ;) Damn, that chorus gets me all the time damn!
I don’t know why but this song makes me feel real. Like everything does have purpose, and meaning, and I’m supposed to do something with that and be a person. Maybe cause it’s past 9 pm or I’m like actually an adult now I’m not sure but this song just smooths the transition a little I guess.
I found me a hopeless case, and resolved to love Maybe we can find a decent place when I'm old enough Found love in an empty gaze, tried to fix it up I found me a hopeless case, oh, oh I'll fall for you soon enough, I've resolve to love Now I know it's just another fuck cause I'm old enough Sell lies like they're only drugs, here to pick me up I'll fall for you soon enough, oh, oh [Chorus] Oh, don't be scared But it's a harder kind of fear (Hold on tight) You best hold on or else you're in it (Clear your mind) And when you think you're thinking clearly (It's alright) You're really tied up and committed (Oh I'm just saying) But it’s an awful lot of talk (It's not a fight) For a fire that burns too quickly (You have to not be scared) Why do you want to hurt at all? (You're alright) For someone's summer kind of sickness [Verse 2] All dressed in my Sunday best, when I solve you, love Maybe find a place where we could rest when we're old enough We can have a dog and all the rest, we can live it up All dressed in our Sunday best, oho, oho Sonsick at the tee-ball games, I absolve your, love Maybe find a place and think of names, when we're old enough Make plans and we'll buy new things, try to fix it up Sonsick at the tee-ball games, oh, oh [Chorus] Oh, don't be scared But it's a harder kind of fear (Hold on tight) You best hold on or else you're in it (Clear your mind) And when you think you're thinking clearly (It's alright) You're really tied up and committed (Oh I'm just saying) But it’s an awful lot of talk (It's not a fight) For a fire that burns too quickly (You have to not be scared) Why do you want to hurt at all? (You're alright) For someone's summer kind of sickness [Breakdown] It is a summer kind of sickness It is a summer kind of sickness Summer kind of sickness It is a summer kind of sickness [Chorus] Oh, don't be scared But it's a harder kind of fear (Hold on tight) You best hold on or else you're in it (Clear your mind) And when you think you're thinking clearly (It's alright) You're really tied up and committed (Oh I'm just saying) But it’s an awful lot of talk (It's not a fight) For a fire that burns too quickly (You have to not be scared) Why do you want to hurt at all? (You're alright) For someone's summer kind of sickness [Breakdown] It is a summer kind of sickness [Outro] I’ll fall for you soon enough I've resolved to love
So, I heard this on the radio today, and it just hit me and I was like whoa. When I got home, found this video and damn, this song is freaking incredible. Well done!
I can't say enough great things about this album! I was hooked as soon as I heard the first song. I've recommending it to everyone I know that likes good music.
I don’t know what it is, but something about this song just hits me right in the heart. The only other song that hits me like this is Baby Blue at the end of Breaking Bad. Thank god I have these songs to remind me what emotions are like. And alcohol. Thank god for alcohol.
Entendue sur France inter par hasard. Magnifique! Elle passe en boucle sur l'ordi. idem pour la version live, interprétée par une autre chanteuse à la voix ahurissante.
So glad that I decided to check them out cause this song is Ah-mazing! They were listed under Amazon's "Rising Artists" (where I was able to get this awesome song for free).
Is this an example of what we refer to as "Irrelationship?" Is (or was) their relationship a hide-out from the anxieties that come from taking the genuine risks that come from "resolving to love?" Did they, then, accidentally "fall" into an empathic and intimate experience of caring for each other (and, in so doing, coming face to face with whatever he/she is avoiding in him-/herself)? "A summer kind of sickness"? Something that you get over after you take the initial FALL? Might the child symbolize the danger, the threat of intimacy, the slip into emotional investment that this couple has stumbled into? The little girl serves as the representative of the peril that they've (inadvertently) put their hearts into. They traverse the Brainlock of irrelationship through forming an alliance between the danger of the risk (the bull) and the living, breathing symbol of the LOVE (their kid) that knocked them in the head (that is, HEART)? www.psychologytoday.com/blog/irrelationship/201409/the-benefits-bad-relationships
Wow, and I just liked the song. I was also traumatized wondering why they would ruin such a perfectly good cake, but your overanalyzing the video works too.
This is one of those songs that makes me cry every time I hear it. Absolutely love this track and hope more folks learn about this band.
oh, boo hoo hoo!
How can anybody not like this????
The chorus is the best application of "Wall of Sound" that I've possibly ever heard!
@@jeffmurray8384 no, it is their own song
Only took 3 seconds for me to decide I liked this song.
Weird, as the intro of the song is just bird sounds..
You don't like birds?
Bradley Taylor I do :c

Her voice is absolutely insane. Definitely a new favourite song
I swear I could listen to her sing all day
Thanks to Rainbow Rowell for putting this song inher wip playlist, if she didn't I wouldn't be aware of this beautiful song.

Didn't think this was possible but they sound even better live!! Best music discovery I've made!
I can't say how many times I've listened to this song, but I never get sick of it.

Alt j messed up Matilda and it was great. Not sure how many people caught that.

Nothing compares to hearing this song in concert.
They play it so well, and I wish this video sounded as good as hearing them live.

Damn, that chorus gets me all the time damn!
The lesson to be learned here is that bugs make great birthday presents and bulls are friendly. This was an educational video.

The National/Beirut brass + Dirty Projectors vocal perfection = hits me right in the feels. Great job San Fermin. Cant wait to hear more!

My boyfriend and I were talking about this. This is a song you appreciate more with age, and I can't explain why at all.
I found me a hopeless case, and resolved to love
Maybe we can find a decent place when I'm old enough
Found love in an empty gaze, tried to fix it up
I found me a hopeless case, oh, oh
I'll fall for you soon enough, I've resolve to love
Now I know it's just another fuck cause I'm old enough
Sell lies like they're only drugs, here to pick me up
I'll fall for you soon enough, oh, oh
[Chorus]
Oh, don't be scared
But it's a harder kind of fear
(Hold on tight)
You best hold on or else you're in it
(Clear your mind)
And when you think you're thinking clearly
(It's alright)
You're really tied up and committed
(Oh I'm just saying)
But it’s an awful lot of talk
(It's not a fight)
For a fire that burns too quickly
(You have to not be scared)
Why do you want to hurt at all?
(You're alright)
For someone's summer kind of sickness
[Verse 2]
All dressed in my Sunday best, when I solve you, love
Maybe find a place where we could rest when we're old enough
We can have a dog and all the rest, we can live it up
All dressed in our Sunday best, oho, oho
Sonsick at the tee-ball games, I absolve your, love
Maybe find a place and think of names, when we're old enough
Make plans and we'll buy new things, try to fix it up
Sonsick at the tee-ball games, oh, oh
[Chorus]
Oh, don't be scared
But it's a harder kind of fear
(Hold on tight)
You best hold on or else you're in it
(Clear your mind)
And when you think you're thinking clearly
(It's alright)
You're really tied up and committed
(Oh I'm just saying)
But it’s an awful lot of talk
(It's not a fight)
For a fire that burns too quickly
(You have to not be scared)
Why do you want to hurt at all?
(You're alright)
For someone's summer kind of sickness
[Breakdown]
It is a summer kind of sickness
It is a summer kind of sickness
Summer kind of sickness
It is a summer kind of sickness
[Chorus]
Oh, don't be scared
But it's a harder kind of fear
(Hold on tight)
You best hold on or else you're in it
(Clear your mind)
And when you think you're thinking clearly
(It's alright)
You're really tied up and committed
