I have been cooking prime rib for Christmas for years, but you have won me over on changing up the way I normally prepare and cook. Taking your method this year. Awesome video and great looking prime rib! Nicely done!
Wow, I'm hungry. In addition to ribs and chicken, I've smoked tenderloin, cross ribs and New York strip steaks. After seeing this incredible video, my next adventure will be a bone in prime rib. Nice job.
After MUCH research and endless UA-cam videos on smoking prime rib, I’ve decided to marry your method and Hey Grill Hey’s garlic butter smoked prime rib method this Christmas holiday. I’ve only ever done a tiny 3lb prime rib roast in the oven. I’m going big this year and smoking on my hand-me-down The Good One Open Range with a 10lb beautiful bone in prime rib roast. Thanks for giving me all the motivation and confidence to turn out some PRIME MEAT! Subscribed!
Absolutely incredible. I've watched many cooking videos and by far this is the first one that has made me want to hire someone out as a caterer. I've gotta give it a try.
You get 5 stars for this cook, my man. You cooked that prime rib to perfection. I've done grilled/smoked Prime Rib for Christmas many times, and it is a true showstopper!!
How does a video like this get 100+ thumbs down? Excellent video and the presentation could NOT have been any better. Looks delicious, I'm gonna hit up our local butcher shop to see about getting that cut of meat, pretty sure our local Kroger meat deli won't have it.
This video just blessed my soul. That meat may have been the most perfect cooked prime rib I've ever seen, and I live in Arkansas lol. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. Going to subscribe right now. Keep it coming.
I've built pits and learned from all the mistakes. Modified and designed so many. Looking at this pit I like the way the fire box was created. It looks insulated. And that's a test of using less wood Low and slow BBQ. Nice very nice. My next pit will be a reverse flow smoker. Similar to the design of yours . Only difference will be the exhaust pipe lol will be near the fire box. And my defuser plate will run the full length of the pit. Small holes from the fire box and get larger as they near the far end if the pit2 racks. One sits above the plate for a drip pan then the smoke can travel full length of the pit and remove any hot spots in the pit. Great video nice job. I had also considered a drip pan water tray that can be removed. Still thinking on that one
This is what my wife asked for on her birthday, which is also Christmas day. With that kind of pressure, I appreciate your great instructional video. I'm using an Egg, but besides the cooker, I'm going this route. Thanks!
I like to say that the video was clear and great quality... ur cooking process wasnt complicated.... i cant say much of anything about ir seasoning because i had never tried it. But the best seasoning ive tried thus far is "3 lil pigs"
@@SwineLifeBBQ Good afternoon sir, could you reply with the name of that light colored rub, code iii, Mississippi Grit...I'm in north Jersey but I can use Amazon to have spices delivered. All the best during this Christmastime. Take care.
@@tommythompson7941 You bet! It is Swine Life BBQ "Mississippi Grit". We are in the process of getting it live on Amazon but it is in stock @ swinlifebbq.com and ready to ship.
Ok, the beef looks phenomenal!! I’m sure it was delicious. But, I am in LOVE with your kitchen!! Envious to say the least. I’m new to this channel but it’s become another go to. Killer Hogs led me here.
Damn you can cook!!! My mouth is watering! I bought my usual bone-in rib eye roast for Christmas. I purchased a Kamado 4 months ago and was looking to smoke the roast on the Kamado this year when I came upon your site. Without hesitation, I am cooking this roast on Christmas day. Thank you! Merry Christmas sir!
Smoked one last year and ruined it. After watching your video I saw what I did wrong and how to do it right! Will be smoking 7 pounder Christmas Day using your method. Awesome and Thank You!
Excellent video..easy to follow..nice music...Beautiful once done. Pretty much how I do it but I use the weber kettle method. I like the long bones and the pre-rub with soy sauce and wostershire. FWIW I pull mine at 120-122, wrap and let it come up to 128-130. Cheers mon.
Oh yeah, I forgot to say my mouth was watering for the bones you cut off the roast. I just bet you kept them for a quick chow session after quick grilling on high heat...YUM!
Mine turned out great... I had to cook it medium ( I'm sure that's against the law to do) but there was a lot of lip smacking at Christmas dinner... Thanks for the advice!👍
I know I've commented like 3 times already but damn brother you knocked this cook out!!!!!! I can watch this video over and over and over without skipping a second. I swear like 10,000 views are probably mine lmao
Wow!! Like that smoke ring. Love medium rare and that juice runnin' out looks real good. Thanks for the video love prime rib and the horse radish is great on it.
Thank you so much for sharing! I am planning on making a standing rib roast for Christmas but did even think about using my smoker. Now I think I will have to give this a try!
thats how im gonna do mine on my water smoker, i may tweak a few things. like cooking it at 200 degrees til it hits a internal temp of 105, then take it off so it can continue cookin while it rest on the counter, when it has climbed another 15 to 20 degrees it will be around 120 to 125. (rare from outside of the cap to the center) i let the temp fall til its around 100, now open the vents all the way on the smoker, get it as hot as you can and put it back on for a reverse sear, about 5 to 10 minutes. take it off and cut that sucker, all the juices stay in the meat, hasnt cooked anymore but put a nice crust on it. just a little tweak great vid
That's a big hell yeah bro!!! man that looks awesome!! I might make that my next video! Awesome Job brother!! Just hit that red button and that little bell.
