3 years later and I’m still in love with Genshin. The story has only gotten better and (almost) every character feels so fun to play and save up for.

From what I remember from the Livestream event before Fontaine's release, they talked about how they designed underwater exploration to be thalassophobia (fear of deep water) friendly, by making sure there was plenty of light, foliage, and critters to prevent the feeling of staring into an endless abyss. they also spent a lot of time figuring out how to make the camera move and follow your character to help prevent motion sickness
That makes me so happy
it does get pretty dark though the farther down you go in some of the ruins
I sometimes get the same feeling I'm get when I played the Subnautica games just not as bad!
Stuff like this is why Hoyo is pretty much the Apple (from the Steve Jobs days) of gacha gaming and will likely lead the pack for some time to come.

Love how wolfychu is taking about the anime style game, and how she had to stop because it would be too addicting to play
As a long time player of Genshin, my advice is don't grind. Get on, do your commissions, maybe use your resin, do some story/exploration and then go take a break. So many people tried to do everything at once or tried to raise their characters like it was a speed run that they literally made themselves sick of the game and quit, which is a shame since they'd put so much work into it.
Believe me, I have played almost everyday since launch and I still love Genshin and enjoy my time with it. The important part is to not push to hard.
After a while, I became convinced Genshin Impact was meant to be played in short bursts. I have a huge hoard of Fragile Resin that can attest to how short my bursts tend to be, in that I rarely go into Domains for some reason.
After playing Genshin for so long, I can most definitely say that the stories of this game gets better and better each time.

I love how almost everything in this game is derived from real-life cultures and mythologies. It feels like a best-hits compilation of all the most iconic aspects of the most commonly represented countries and time periods in fiction.

I love Genshin Impact. 3 years later and still wonderful stories.
The Fontaine story is so good.
This takes me back to the days when I was hooked on games like MapleStory and Eden Eternal. I’d easily lose track of time, so I get the appeal of those sorts of games. Genshin Impact looks really good, but I know if I get started, it’d be hard to stop. The collecting flowers bit was my favorite part.
I was hooked on another Nexon game many years ago (but you know Nexon being Nexon... Cash-grabbing company) and it's still a point of nostalgia because 3D anime game.

Edit: MapleStory is still active!? I stopped playing that like 9 years ago, because lack of self control…Story of my life, now that I think about it. I’m amazed that any online game could ever last that long.
@@JesseStrobel Indeed! It's still going as well. Unfortunately Nexon is as Nexon does, the game becomes increasingly worse (not limited to little to no optimization) to basically P2W so basically most people resort to becoming fashionistas and scalpers for rare/hot items.
...Like you know it's BAD when even clothes dyes in the game sold by players start off like several million ingame currency (no, not NX) where most items by NPCs are like a thousand times less.
Which is a real shame to me really. The concept is really good. An anime take on Irish mythology, plus fairly frequently anime tie-ins (the first one in the US is perhaps Anime Summer with SAO, then Kemono Friends, whereas in NXKR and NXJP their first was back in G9/Alchemist arc with Fullmetal Alchemist.)
MapleStory?! I remember that one!! I used to write fan fiction for it a lot (except I never posted them lol) I even made a crossover between Genshin and MapleStory in one 😂
Honestly, genshin is an extreemly fun game!! But the problem is: 1. The community is terrible and toxic. And 2. The communication between the community and the develepers is also rlly bad
Personally, I've never played Genshin Impact, but I have seen it played by other people, and it is a really neat game. It's nice to see you back into the game.

They provide a safe and easy solution, but if you have max stamina, you can reach it via glider from the Sumeru-side teleporter if you execute it perfectly. There is little room for error, but it is possible.
i just ate a 100 Stamina food halfway and job done😂
Kazuha plus fan or Ayaka dash worked fine too.
@@effortlessfury I don't have max stamina (haven't yet bothered to hunt down all the liyue statue upgrade thingies), but I just used Amber's gliding stamina reduction talent, plus a stamina boosting food. The margin for error wasn't all that small actually, I didn't know other ppl had this much trouble gliding to Fontaine before this video, I thought I just needed some extra stamina buffs because mine wasn't maxed lol =P
Been playing the game for 3 years and I love how it’s a continuous game because I do get so focused into a game and end up beating it in a day or two

i was really burned out from the game in inazuma and sumeru but fontaine's story so far has been absolutely amazing especially the newest chapter furina quickly became one of my favorite characters and gotta say your video reminds me of why i loved this game so much at the start

i took a break from genshin for a few months because of feeling burnt out. then i realised it wasn't because of the actual gameplay, but that the sumeru region was the reason why i felt burnt out. fontaine is like a breathe of fresh air for me and many other players

Not bothered but it kinda surprises me the big difference of opinions between players. Sumeru is actually my favorite region and I love it so much. Maybe is because the culture and stories behind the secondary missions and archon quests drawn me in so much, or maybe the characters, or maybe the exploration and soundtracks. I don't really know.
I think it's kinda cool because it puts a kinda balance between different tastes so everyone can enjoy it. (Fontaine is also really cool don't get me wrong, but Sumeru just hits different for me TvT
Sumeru is super crowded and I stopped caring about it past the archon quest and the Jhet and Aranara stuff. You also cannot make me explore that desert, I got very bored with it. There are still a few side quests I need to do in it that I just refuse to do.
Yup, the enormous dessert definitely put an end to my daily login and led to weeks of not playing and eventually not being able to participate in events for a long while.
I've quit GI about a year ago because of lack in content, the article and other things
I will however come back when Khaenriah/Celestia will come out to play from where I left on Sumeru all the way to the end of the Teyvat chapter
It's still nice to see that just like Emirichu, Wolfychu fell into the genshin hole.

I’ve been playing Genshin Impact for almost a year. Started in November 24th last years and I don’t regret it. I used to think it was one of THOSE gacha games but I found out it wasn’t. It was amazing😭 I’m grateful for what Genshin’s done for me.

It may take a while, but I have a feeling you would absolutely adore Sumeru! Aranara are peak adorable designs (and they have a long, amazing sidequest which may be up your alley!) and the main story with Nahida is top-tier, too! 🐺💙
I didn't jump on when it was new but I did recently pick it back up again after a long break. Just finished a quest chain called The Dirge of Bilqis with a character named Jeht. The end zone was visually stunning. Almost up there with seeing the true form of Greater Lord Kusanali.
I cried a lot during this story quest ngl but not as much as Fontaine's AQ HAHA
@@rovinteyvat4706 I can understand that. I didn't for that quest but when it came to the main quest involving Nahida and what Greater Lord Rukkhadevada did for the sake of the planet...that straight up broke me.

Couple of notes. One, Fontaine released in 4.0, and has been expanded upon by the recent updates since then. Two, I was playing Genshin while listening to this vid. Three, the Furina outfit on Wolfychu model look so cute! And fourth, I love the melusines and can’t wait for you to meet my favorite of them, Sigewinne, who you meet in the Fontaine archon quests

You just wait till you get to know Wanderer's story (Sumeru) and then Fontaine's Archon Quest. It's one of the best written characters and the most epic quests ever. Like seriously, I was SCREAMING during that Archon Quest, you're gonna enjoy it

From a tale about bad dragon to Fontaine's epic story. After completing Archon quest, I feel like I want to spend money in this game just because I want to say "thank you" to developers. All these features absolutely for free is not fair.
Getting back into Genshin after 3 years sounds so intimidating but Fontaine is tempting me back too 🥺 Also the swimming to Fontaine is so real - i tried doing that for the mist island in inazuma and wanted to flip my desk after accidentally finding the waypoint
I remember that around midway through Inazuma, I took a hiatus from Genshin. Partially because I was getting into FFXIV at the time and I usually tunnel-vision anything new for a while before acclimating it into my game rotation (or not), but also because by that point I had gotten gacha fatigue. I eventually returned just as Sumeru was about to release pretty much because a good friend of mine encouraged me to pick the game back up and although I still take small breaks each version, I usually come back to explore and experience what the world has to offer.
On the other hand, I quit Honkai Star Rail back in 1.0 and likely will not return, mostly because I am just more invested in Genshin (also I have developed a grudge against the Honkai fans, so I have sworn off anything with the name stamped on at this point)

I can very much understand why Wolfychu loves this game so much for reasons I won’t mention because of how obvious they are. Even when she finally stops playing for a few years she eventually starts playing again and immediately loves it again!
I must ask… if could draw 8 characters where 2 of them have fused together Dragon Ball style - so that would be 4 fusions in total - what would they be? I know this oddly specific… but I just thought of asking you this!
I actually had a similar experience with going into fountaine trying to glide and ice bridge for a while. Now I see (because of the video) that there was a waverider ( I believe) waypoint
I finally began to play Genshin about a month ago, but i was admiring the game, the arts, the community and the events for much longer. and I'm happy to say that when i joined the game for the first time i was NOT DISAPOINTED. I have a great time every time i play it even if it's just for the daily quests.

It's Still Good
Honestly even following main story line it will last you for quite a while and get u tons of primogems, no need to hunt for sidequests.
Also as f2p you get alot of 5* sooner or later, specialy if you know what teams to go for from online guides and only pull on character banners from those teams
pulling on every banner gets me i think 30-40 pulls per banner rotation from primos i get, not enough to guarantee 5*, let alone banner one if im on 50/50
realisticaly as f2p u have 2 options :
- pull every banner rotation and expect to get 5* every third banner (option id recomend for new players to at least get enough leveled up characters to clear floors 1-8 of abyss with all stars and get a feel for what element interactions u enjoy playing)
- save primos for 3+ rotations to get somewhat good odds of getting banner 5* (option id recomend after u have enough characters to know what teams u like to play to target op characters that make those teams better, u can wish on earlier banner until u get missing 4* becouse pitty transfers to future banners, it only resets once you get 5*)
Pulling for every wifu/husbando u like might as well be mentioned option 1 ^^
Pull on standard banners as well cos it can give u 5* chars and weapons (u get free fates by lvling chars to accended 70, battle pass, ...), just dont spend primogems on them
Also dont forget to unlock housing in liyue and lvl it up, eventually gets you a bit of free primos, house currency char and weapon xp mats and even timed resin refill if u save enough currency (dont waste primogems refilling it, it refils automaticaly and u get burst refils from house, battle pass, ...)
i started playing genshin on patch 2.6 and have been playing ever since, i love the characters, the world and the story has just gotten better and better since Inazuma, it is one of a handfull of games that have made me cry . . fontiane is such a great region and the story is top teir. you have a lot of story/ interlude quests to do before you get to fontaine.
it reallyis crazy how much genshin has evolved from itself, it's a really good time to come back so this is nice

3:12 Ah, yes. Ruin Graders are relatively easy to deal with ...unless you fight one in a small space, in which case its spinning attack is an absolute _nightmare_ to deal with.

I've got 90 Intertwined Fates ready for when Yelan hops into the Wish again (for a spark, which will most likely be the case, or hopefully multiple copies.)
Did you already lose your previous 50/50?
@Chaos89P I think I've only pulled from event Wishes a few times, but I think that was closer to when Genshin dropped (though I can't remember exactly.) But as for Yelan's banners, I skipped the first one (because I think I only had a few Intertwined Fates at the time) and missed the second.
Also, what do you mean by "50/50"?
@@TheRealRidley12 The 50/50 is the "coin flip" you get from an Event Wish when you finally roll that five star (henceforth stylized as "5*") comet/shooting star thing, seemingly more likely to happen when you make 10 wishes at once. There's a fifty percent chance you'll get the Event 5*, and the other 50% is a Wanderlust Invocation 5* character or weapon. Some people have been really lucky when they get the 5*, and there are those who lose the 50/50 every time. Good news is, if you lose the 50/50, your next Event 5* is guaranteed to be the event character.

As I grew, I learned to just want set and done games. And in this day and age, you don't hardly get that anymore. Doom Eternal being a prime rare example.
