What I took from the diary was that she had a childhood dream e.g Music ( the piano) , fashion and makeup ( soon to be fenty beauty) but in order to achieve it she had to change so she goes through the door. This transition is similar to how she went from “Music of the Sun “ to “Good girl gone bad”, chasing a dream can come with a sacrifice. So she goes through the sore and she creates music and the music consumes her and flows through her veins , she is living her dream. But she must also change how she appears, from good girl to bad. As she goes to door to door she looses more and more of her innocence but is closer and closer to her dream. I would especially like talk about the parts where she marks the man , the mark of the beast, and the part where she is the bath tub. This is her showing her loyalty to the elite now I know many people don’t believe they exist but I think they do. I am a Christian but I still love Rihanna and all the love she has shown the black community but I cannot ignore the fact that things are than the seem. Anyway after that you see her enter a room with accountants in it counting money. That is the foreshadowing of her future success. She is now the highest paid musician in the WORLD. This is true art. There are many layers and it can be interpreted in different ways and all are probably true. It could be about her reclaiming and rediscovering her inner child. Going through her traumas, cleansing her self if the noise, regaining more clarity and coming face to face (scene 6) with who she really is and embracing her “darkness” - which is not a bad thing. People seem to associate the white with innocence but I think it only means that at the beginning. By the end she returns home after her journey - it’s not quite how it was but she has new found understanding and is at peace. Bravo, Rihanna!
