A wonderful classic, great sound and the video is absolutely awesome! I had to laugh when I saw that the audience sat motionless in their chairs despite the really rousing song! Many thanks Sammy, have a wonderful new week! Cheers, E.H.
This clip is from the 1961 Columbia Pictures movie Twist Around the Clock. Dion also performed "The Wanderer" in the film. "Runaround Sue" was a no. 1 hit in the U.S. It also reached no. 4 on the Hot R&B chart on Billboard. It got to no. 11 in the UK. It was meant to be a Twist follow-up to Bill Haley's 1956 film Rock Around the Clock.
How 🎉 I wish I born in that era but in this era only technology and AI Probably in that era might happy and more productive in life but without the WAR Thank you for your contribution in the music industry and what a wonderful voice and melody that contribute to the world and music industry!! What a great classic! He had a bunch of great one's. So great to hear and see this wonderful video. Thanks so much for this piece of early 60's music history!
@@nicklarson1951a whole 42 years before I was born. I'm probably one of the youngest listeners to Dion. Saw him when he came to Staten Island bout a year ago. Gotta say, had lots of surprised looks to see a 19 year old at a Dion Concert.
This song has been rockin' it for over 60 years, I mean it's a real toe tapper.....yet some of those folks in the audience are as stiff as cardboard cutouts...go figure
One of my favorite YT videos of all time! Also love The Wanderer. I've read this was part of a movie or TV show. Does anyone know exactly what it's from?
Get your facts correct: Dion : I recorded Runaround Sue with black musicians from the Apollo theater, Buddy Lucas on Sax, Sticks Evans on drums, Panama Francis on percussion, Teacho Wilshire on piano, Milt Hinton on bass, and Mickey “Guitar” Baker. ~ When Hollywood filmed this rendition (the promo film) they used all white actors playing musicians behind me, knowing the film wouldn't get played in the South at that time.
Depending on how you look at it he either was a womanizer who got served his same medicine or a suffering guy that turned into what broke his heart, it's fun

That was a room of mannequins, I'm sitting at a computer and moving! I love Dion!
look how amazing people used to dress and sing and talk and they say humans have evolved.
I’m only 34 and wish I grew up in this generation, life would of been so much better
No doubt.
Couldnt agree more! Take me back to this time PLEASE!
Good grief…what’s up with this dead crowd?!? I’m 71 and I’d’ve been bouncing in my seat to this great song and performance! …ROFLMBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 🤣💦
I was thinking the same thing. I'm here moving forward and back, my feet are moving, I'm 66, these people are sad.
It was the 1950s and most white folks’ bodies didn’t know how to respond to this latest manifestation of African music.
@@ralphmammah6220 or maybe because this was a tv show set and not a concert

It sure is, E.H. Thanks very and glad you like the video. Have a top Tuesday. Cheers.
The brock purdy of singing. Blows their mind but they can't come to terms with the greatness they're witness to.

Master class 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
I love classical music!!!.... their the best. When music had true lyrics instead of doing it for publicity now n days.
This isn't classical music. It's old but not classical. The term you're using refers to Beethoven, Mozart etc This is old but not THAT old
@@BulletProof_Viking in that sense I agree. I mean it's just old so I guess that's why I was referring to classical.

Thanks Jim! Glad you like it!
My Dads Favourite. And I love it too. Great stuff.
I love this song even though it was released 13 years before I was born.

Extraordinarios Cancion, la recuerdo mucho con 11 años. Llegó al Peru, Sud America. Desde Miami.

Fabulous details sound - probably sounds as good as it did in the studio !
Amo esta canción
❤i LOVE This Song !!!! 💖
What's Up With The Audience ?
To think, this was 2 years after Buddy Holly died, Great performance, to carry on with such a history. Amazing
Do tempo que minha avó usava mini saia!
Dion be like:Jesus people. What do I gotta do to get you moving?
Why were people just still was inappropriate to move and sway 😂 back then! Rock n Roll changed that quick
Great song👍
OPUS MASTER!!
Us teens from 50s/60w would be dancing
Its immortal
Cool.....
Sammy, Great job on the video & thanks for using my stereo remix. Rog
Thanks Rog. Good luck with your new channel.
❤
This video kills me … all those people watching sitting stiff and still. Why??? Just a few pats on the table. Smoke those cigarettes.
There's one tasty blonde runaround sue in the audience really digging it. 😂
1:57 front and center, she's a fuck minx
Different era and not a dance club.
It’s from a movie I believe
They had to look classy. But I bet their feet were patting away!! 🤣
This song has been rockin' it for over 60 years, I mean it's a real toe tapper.....yet some of those folks in the audience are as stiff as cardboard cutouts...go figure
hey hey wow wow dop dop lop lop lop who's with me😎😎
I can't sit and listen to this i just have to dance
Great Job, thank you.
Our pleasure!
I'd love to hear Fats Domino's Ain't That a Shame done by your group. There's some great ones out there. Any Chubby Checker or Little Richard too!
💗
❤❤❤
WHO COPIED WHO ? RUNAROUND SUE ? QUARTER TO THREE ? BOTH WERE RELEASED IN 1961 !
Excellent job on it
Thank you very much!
tough crowd 😀
Great remix by Rog - perfect matching to HQ video Sammy.
Thanks very much Jacob.
Blond lady who eats him by eyes is perfect 👌
One of my favorite YT videos of all time! Also love The Wanderer. I've read this was part of a movie or TV show. Does anyone know exactly what it's from?
It's from the movie "Twist Around The Clock."
Nothing like singing to a room full of zombies.
Nice mix ! :O)
Thanks ✌️
1:55, did she have wind? That was the only sign of emotion that I saw throughout the song.
Love that song, sung in front of the most flat boring crowd ever, who slient clapped before the song was finished.
Soft cell tainted love
Tune. Wanderers firm best ever
Sounds like a good song for Fallout
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Que gente más seca yo estaría dando mis pasos jajjaajaj
Dion is smart lol
I'm not a fan of 60s do wop at all... BUT THIS SONG ROCKS!!! NICE JOB DEION👍
Pour passer pour un boomer ( ça c'est de la musique)
This is pure rock'nroll, so why does Dion look such a square? Does it really matter?

I think i married Sue ! 😢
bad audience great song
Soft cell
Łoooo ooooo
Seen more life in a morgue than that crowd ,lol
The gorgeous blonde in the middle could wake me from the dead.
A great r&r 2:17 classic, but that audience is lifeless.
Tough audience 😅
If I was in the audience I would be kicked out for having a good time.
They were asked to remain calm for the taping of this.
Where is the bass player
Off stage somewhere. Lol.
💎💎💎🌹🌹🌹💝💝💝🌟🌟🌟💍💍💍
No one in the audience moves,,,,maybe not til Elvis got it started
Little Big League
Depending on how you look at it he either was a womanizer who got served his same medicine or a suffering guy that turned into what broke his heart, it's fun
Background vocals mixed to heavy
White audiences of 1961, not budging an inch to the rhythm 🤣
Did he die
Manipulated Video, layers, Audiance are quit, 4k Never tWice the same coleur... the sound is great, the video doesn't seems to be correct !
