Hi Toosin, I first found out about Eric from his amazing blog website yachtfiona. On his blog, he sometimes notes that he's looking for crew. I wrote to him from North Carolina and was on a plane to Portugal a week later.. :)
I'm glad not everybody has the same opinion about the Minhotos as you do. Minho is without doubt one of the best regions to visit in Portugal, and the Minhotos are for sure the most accommodating and friendly people towards foreigners and tourists. Opinion like yours usually come from cheap people that often want to enjoy the best of its gastronomy and accommodation at low prices. The problem is not the price, but that not everybody can afford it. And there's places with prices for all tastes.

Love your videos (this and others with Paragon), but want to make a correction to this one. The town name is not "Viana do Costelo" (nor "Costello"), but "Viana do Castelo". BTW, "Castelo" means Castle in Portuguese. Fair winds
