If you were educated in medical science, specifically blood values, you would know that cholesterol and triglycerides fluctuate daily, based on many many factors within the body chemistry.
Many humans believe him and what he says. He is a big guy who has muscles and men respond to that. There are so many humans believing that a diet for lions is ok for humans, and that plants are dangerous. They really "feel better" feeding off the adrenaline and stress hormones. carnitine, heme iron, and fat, of animals. His lipids were as follows - Total Cholesterol: 192 LDL-C: 141 HDL-C: 40 Triglycerides: 54 To make actual sense of this you need to look at the data in the context of how the body functions with zero carb intake. It is ignorant too suggest that the body behaves the same way independent of its primary fuel source. Lumen Sage yeah lets all go vegan and rely on fossil fuel burning planes, trains, and trucks to bring all your food to you because climate regions aren't conducive to growing a wide enough variety for proper nutrition and because you're more than likely not knowledgeable enough to grow your own especially if you want it organic
GasconTheGreat Even the most flawed vegan diet is leaps and bounds better than the standard American diet with regards to health and impact upon the enviroment.
GasconTheGreat Agree with you on many points, but I can't imagine a diet of mostly animal and insect meat would be healthier than one compromised mainly of roots, shoots, and berries. That said, I'm absolutely on board with wanting to move away from factory farming and the era of big pharma keeping us sick, dumb, and miserable. [Edit] I see you were making an argument for sustainable food rather than health with regards to eating insects. My fault for misinterpreting.
I never thought the "Facebook group certified nutrition expert" line in my "When You Tell Average Joe That You Are Vegan... " animation would *actually* accurately describe a person. lol.
@@stevenlindhorst7579 no it isn't. I dislike it when fellow vegans say we used to be herbivores, but we were also obviously not carnivores. Our biology is not similar to that of a carnivore at all
Pretty much every vegan I meat is as opinionated and outdated as you. Must be from all the years of eating things that can't talk back. When I was pounding down 1lb of meat per day, I was athletic, and lean, riding my bike thousands of miles per year. It wasn't when I became conscious of true health that I finally started looking at my blood lab results (which I just assumed were perfect). My total cholesterol was 252! I will admit that I haven't had blood work since ceasing animal "foods", but I would bet money that my blood work reflects my dietary lifestyle. PS-I finally lost that belly fat I could never lose.
G Kuljian one thing the doctor points out is if you eat prior to a blood test your cholesterol sky rockets, your cholesterol isnt a stable thing, it changes day to day
Sometimes you can get heart palpitations from diet due to something called the vagus nerve. It's a nerve that runs down past our stomach and connects to our central nervous system, so if you have a poor diet that's inflaming your gut (usually high meat diets) and causing things like indigestion and heartburn, it can irritate this nerve which can give you 'palpitations'. These can feel like a slowing down of your heart, skipped beats, or a fluttering feeling in your chest. It's totally benign, and I've found since being vegan and eating tons more fibre that I've had no more palpitations, unless I've had a day where I'm really busy and haven't eaten much of anything and my stomach gets upset.
“It is also interesting to note that one of the reasons that the Masai have such a high neonatal mortality rate is exactly because of their beliefs about a healthy diet: Masai women eat less food during pregnancy because they want smaller babies.”

You need vit c for using glucose/carbs. Reduced to no carbs means giant reduction in vit c needs. Also glucose and vit c fight for the same receptors so its a feedback loop of sorts.
American heart association has changed there views on saturated fats and they are saying theres no correlation between heart desease and saturated fats.

I feel you. Lol consume dairy like once every few months maybe. I prefer not having it (unless a random time I may be REALLY craving something with dairy) but since it's not 100%, I just tell everyone I'm a vegetarian :P
Go at whatever pace is sustainable for you! I found that being vegetarian but using milk substitutes got me most of the way there, but was also easier to do
This “doctor” must take a poop about once every 2 or 3 MONTHS! I once talked to a girl where I used to work and she only pooped once a week “at most”. I nearly fell over.
I tried carnivore twice. ( yeah, I know ) and had bad constipation. I always avoided trying Veganism because I thought the plant oxalates were the reason for my 6 kidney stones. Now I find out that Veganism can actually help avoid kidney stones. Though I will still avoid the plants with the highest amounts of oxalates by finding alternatives. Thanks Mic for encouraging me to try plant foods.
Were you constipated, or just going less often? I did carnivore for a month for elimination purposes and still do a heavily meat-based diet. I still only poop about once a week, and it's not that much. It's a very low waste diet. When you're doing carnivore, everything that you're eating is highly bioavailable. When you're eating plants, your body has to expel much more excrement because so much of it is useless. If you are legitimately constipated, you can supplement magnesium citrate.
@@thatvegandevil2113 Eating plant-based made me poop only once every three days, and the bowel movements would come on suddenly but urgently, accompanied by painful abdominal cramps. The stool would always start out hard and end in diarrhea and would take 20+ minutes to pass. I was also plagued with constant bloating and gas. But, please, tell me more about how that was healthier for me than my current way of eating, with which I am never bloated and my stool is always a solid, smooth consistency and takes less than 5 minutes to pass.
@@Maddyline1998 that wasn't plants that sounds like a medical condition you probably should have sought help for. Pooping less than once a day is incredibly bad for your gut it holds all the toxins from the meat you consume and believe me there is plenty. @@thatvegandevil2113 "That wasn't plants." Yes, it was and it still is. I have tried reintroducing several plant foods that I can't digest. I can't eat any high-FODMAP foods which covers a wide array of produce. I also can't eat legumes, pineapple, soy, or guar gum. They all give me abdominal cramps and diarrhea. There are very few plant foods I can eat that don't upset my digestion (e.g. avocado, tomato, winter squash, coconut), and I wouldn't be able to meet my nutritional needs eating only from that narrow group of foods. "Toxins from the meat" No, sorry, I don't believe you. I have done my own research as well. I am eating grass-finished beef from a farm within an hour of where I live, and it doesn't upset my digestion nearly as much as eating plant-based. I also feel much better thriving off of meat and eggs. I am never bloated, even right after a meal, and have a much easier time working out. I can also fast easily if I need to.

This especially is true for the fertilizers industry (Bayer/Monsanto for example) who share their interests with the food industry. See e.g. this: ua-cam.com/video/GNRo-IbQ1Jo/v-deo.html

Debunking his pseudoscience is like a walk in the park for you... The one thing I wish you and all other vegans would move towards, is talking more (I know you already do this sometimes) about "eating animals" vs. "eating meat". Why?: 1) The dictionary definition of meat already included plant-based foods for hundreds of years before Beyond Meat was invented, so talking about vegan meats, and even pushing the concept that "Vegans Eat Meat" (happens to be the name of a music video I made in the summer as well ;) just like we always tell people that vegans eat pizza, ice cream etc., would be way more effective in my opinion at making animal eaters open minded to trying the cruelty-free lifestyle than telling people to stop eating all of their favorite foods, "meat is murder" etc. 2) It's not fair to the animals themselves to reduce their dead bodies to a food group (which includes vegan meats anyways) and talking about a "cow burger" "cow ice cream" vs. "coconut ice cream" etc. would go a long way towards reminding people they're eating the dead bodies and gross fluids of abused animals, if we start being mindful to include this in our everyday speech. At the moment a lot of people think vegan meats and cheeses are gross and that's backwards AF. Language is a powerful tool, and even if this small (or perhaps revolutionary) linguistic change accelerated the vegan revolution by even 1% that would lead to billions of innocent lives being saved over the long term, and would also make a massive difference in terms of combatting the climate/mass extinction crises. Anyways, massive respect for your work nonetheless, props from NYC.

With this second coming of the carnivore diet ( I have been following this for a decade now) it would be good to hear more from the people such as yourself who tried it but did not stick to it. There were some people from the forum the doctor mentioned, ZIOH, who later added plants and founded another forum, Dirty Carnivore, but it is no longer active. I remember many people started having problems with low body temperature, of feeling cold even on hot summer days. Danny Roddy followed the carnivore diet, even doing pemmican only for some time I recall, but started losing his hair due to male pattern baldness, then revised his diet by Ray Peat's recommendations. He is the only one I know who is somewhat 'famous' as he has a weblog.
Seems everyone has "Dr." In front of their name when it comes to nutrition "science." And omfg I swear if I hear one more reference to the Inuit and cavemen etc lol. Great video btw.
I just have to point out one thing that is a blatant lie; diverticulitis has nothing to do with a fibre deficiency, in fact, the natural treatment I received for this was a low-fibre (and by nature, a low-carb diet) diet specifically.

I went on vegan and I absolutely felt like crap. I started keto and I feel amazing. Don't have to track calories and I am lean now. Lost over 50 pounds. For me, meat and a high fat diet are the way to go. I'm telling you I have never felt better in life. I did both vegan, "balanced" diet tracking with My fitness pal, keto, and carnivore. I was also on acid reflux meds for 15 years. The only thing that helped it was a high fat low card diet. I tried everything to get off reflux meds. If you have reflux, go keto and better than that carnivore. Hope this helps someone.
Inuit eat mostly raw meat, and supplement with berries and other veggies as they can find them. But, their environments being as inhospitable to plants as they are, I would tend to side with the notion that full carnivore is better for some than others.
It only takes a Google search for "inuit diet". Wikipedia is the first to show up, and there are plenty of links for further information. Having people spoon feed knowledge to you is the worst state to be in if you want to properly manage your health. Personal responsibility is an important tool.
What studies? Like most, all you lot do is speculate and rely on blogs, news media, and other resources. If I provided links, they'd be wasted on the ones who just drift along waiting for the next big report that supports their preformed bias. No, if you're really interested in maintaining health through proper scientific methods, that would be worth exploring.
I tried this way of eating just for the hell of it. 5 weeks in I had my blood markers done twice. Cholesterol was up more than double from the previous time I checked my blood. Stopped the diet immediately. A month later my cholesterol was back to normal.
The total cholesterol, LDL and HDL numbers mean nothing. You can be sick with "good" numbers and you can be healthy with "bad" numbers. You need to measure the particle size and number. This can be done with NMR or chromatography. Search terms are "LDL Particle Testing", "NMR LipoProfile", or "Lipoprint Lipoprotein Subfractions Testing System". If you have too much small dense LDL that is a problem. But the bigger ones are fine. And even the small dense ones are not the problem but the consequence of a problem, inflammation and insulin resistance from too much carbohydrates.
I suffer from something called ARFID, and eat next to no vegetables. I actually have a mild case, compared to those with who are severe and on the extreme end. As a result of having ARFID, I primarily eat only meats (not fish), grains, and cheeses exclusively. The only time I eat anything that comes from vegetables or fruits is when it has been ground down to have no texture. Despite this, I have been healthier than most (thus far) as regular doctor checkups have shown I have no health issues to be concerned about. I'm not trying to encourage the behavior, as I am going to seek treatment for this condition this year.
Cynthia Beckett, yea, studies say really no connection. But I would experience it if I ate way too much dairy in a day. But I stopped out of compassion for the animals, not myself. Grassfed is a nice thought, but they deserve much more respect than that, I feel....
It's amazing how many people don't believe in facts. Seeing someone eat meat is almost confusing as see someone smoking. You know how bad it is for you, yet you do it anyway. You'll regret it when the time comes, which I hope isn't too late.
I admire the moral argument for going vegan, but the health arguments don't convince me at all. There's actually a lot of people in meat-only diets reporting great health improvements, while at the same time a lot of ex-vegans showing how incredibly better they felt once they got back at eating meat. If you're interested I suggest you reading Dr. Georgia Ede, her website diagnosisdiet.com has some pretty strong arguments for meat and showing the downsides and potential dangers in vegetables. Other people to read about and watch speaking: Peter Attia, Dr. Ron Rosedale, Dr. Ann Childers.-all of these people have very strong arguments against the conventional "wisdom" about nutrition (which only made people more fat and with more fatal diseases over the last 40 years).
@@Mettttie anecdotes are experience, experience is data, if the data is being experimented with by many individuals and they all come out with the same or similar outcomes that data then becomes science. So, you're wrong.
I am still awestruck at how much blind faith the people following Shawn Baker's diet have. I'm healing my eczema (almost completely gone after one year) using a plantbased diet that eliminated all eggs, dairy, and wheat while supplementing with celery juice amongst other things. My severe eczema outbreak was brought on by trying out a very moderate low carb high fat diet that was an attempt to lose some weight. The irony is my eczema healing diet has caused a lot of weight loss and I am eating what really amounts to a low fat high carb starch based whole plant foods diet. I don't understand why these carnivores are so anti-vegan as well. It seems odd to me to waste so much energy on trashing an entire group of people you really don't know.
They make their personal choice as all of us do, and they believe that they feel better and are therefore, healthy. They absorb massive stimulants in adrenaline, stress hormones, carnitine, heme iron, etcetera from the animal death they eat. I think it harkens to caveman mentality, that it is ancient and therefore okay. If you believe plants are dangerous, they convince themselves that eating like a lion is manly (or womanly). Me-wf ethical vegan 20+ years.
You know the Masai men in the study got Atherosclerosis after 40 when they stopped eating the warrior diet and went on to a more western like iet with flour an so. If you read the study you understand that. Its a super clear break in the graph when they stop the meat/blood/ diet after 40 when they done being "warriors".
@Jimmy S Jimmy, I understand that that's the only possibility you can think of, because most of the people you are listening to are telling you a vegan diet is the most healthy thing you could do for yourself. Or maybe you are a vegan yourself. You felt better in the beginning (for various reasons: more whole foods, cutting out processed/pasteurized dairy, better digestion, because you didn't mix animal and plant-foods etc.), so you assume that's because you don't eat meat. Maybe you also ate low quality grain-fed meat, high Omega 6 stuff, animals that were not fed their natural diet. Corn and soybean oil is not the right food for farmed fish, poultry, cows etc. Of course that's not healthy. But since you are a vegan you believe that your diet is the healthiest on the planet and every health problem you will develop will not be because of you diet but for other reasons - at least that's what you want to believe. I don't care what you stuff your face with. But don't assume other people have "done the vegan diet wrong", because they could get rid of ALL their health problems. I had an autoimmune disease and since I went carnivore it's gone. Over 15 years of worst agony - gone. I gained back my life. If I even had it in the first place. So, do you STILL want to tell me It was because I didn't plan my vegan diet right? BTW: f*** Chronometer, I used it for years and never had any issues with getting nutrients - on paper! But it doesn't work like that, because our bodies are not efficient in absorbing these nutrients. It's called bioavailability, my friend.
@Jimmy S Wait, the only thing I can eat without getting severe autoimmune issues is meat. And you are telling me to stay away from it? What else should I eat? Air!? Or should I just swim instead of having a meal? Aditionally to cycling I'll be dead in a month, considering that I'm at the lower end of a healthy weight. Your advise doesn't seem too good. And yes, I did a blood test. When I was a whole food vegan my CRP (inflammation marker) was really high and I had severe anemia. Now my blood is perfect.

My doctors put me on a diet that was a nearly vegan almost meat free diet. I followed it religiously for 2 years. I almost died from the severe inflammations in my joints and the random cystic growths I suffered from with severe psoriasis, catastrophically destructive psoriatic arthritis, IBS and a few other issues. I was bedridden and addicted to opiates that had to be prescribed so I could just barely function. Not a good combination for s single parent. Then I switched to a ketogenic diet and guess what? I started to get better. I started to be able to move and the issues that had brought me literally to the brink of death started to alleviate. My ldl/hdl levels are "perfect" my O2 levels are elevated, my blood pressure is 118/81 and I can now sleep more than 2-3 hours a night. My reliance on the opioids has been diminished to almost zero and my Drs and I will be implementing a full removal program from all opiates starting next month. I am consuming in excess of 2000 cal/day and very, very little is plant based. I've also lost a significant amount of weight with the dietary change. Is this decisive proof that meat based diets are for everyone? Absolutely not. Is your claim that there is no need for animal tissue consumption universally true? Absolutely not. You need to get past your ideology and look at things from a realistic and non-dogmatic perspective. Sometimes a meat based diet is what a person needs as opposed to a plant based diet. This is just basic fact. Not all diets are right for all people and the "morality" issue you raise is both wrongheaded and deeply offensive to those of us who come from cultures which subsist on greater meat consumption through hunting and fishing. You owe those people an apology for such a juvenile and judgemental statement based in nothing but your "opinion" as opposed to thousands of years of cultural history. You are well entitled to your opinion but you diminish your own credibility with such blatantly ignorant statements.
It's as if they are afraid that using logic and serious studies to support their current position might lead them to a conclusion they don't want so they just go full bananas.

I went carnivore a year ago and I lost tons of weight, my teeth and gums are great, cured my GERD, sleep like a baby and have tons of energy and mental clarity. If you've never tried keto or fasting you'll never know my vegan friends. You can laugh at us all you want we're doing great.
@Dylan Boag Yeah. I've started fasting 24-72 hours and then eating mostly meat. Seems to work fine. Can't even remember how it feels like to have acid reflux or stomach ache.
Inuits eat mostly raw too I think. So if they take them as an example go ahead, hunt the animals and eat them raw. Let's see how long those guys stay on an all meat diet X)
One couple's been carnivore for 20 years, and still going strong. Many more are into their second decade of carnivore, and many find keto to be best. But vegans are dropping dead like flies around a zapper. Perhaps we should look past the social emotionalism peddled by guys like this, and start learning more actual science. Chemistry is king of physical reality, and it's pretty simple to comprehend if you apply yourself.
Vegan destroyed my Dad's health and wrecked his diabetes. I eat meat and am in Keto, my blood sugar hasn't gone above 82ml/dL, unless I workout. We my family are allergic to so many foods and veggies. What works for you is for you, what works for others is different. Each person has a unique chemistry and different need. Yes veggies can hurt you, root veggies fuck me and my dad up. Allergies and intolerance...

Is the fruit diet or frugivore the diet humans are "supposed to" adapt. Many people who are raw and only eat fruit say that. Can you make a video on it and your opinions. Maybe state the pros and cons and the misconceptions I guess.
Mizz FlaireBeauty Nutritionfacts.org has a pretty good video,to summarize it our body is best suited for fruit, seeds(including nuts) and foliage.Fruit is obviously vital to health but we won't thrive of a fruitarian diet alone,we need at least some vegetables and grains.
Some grains/veggies can't be eaten raw (rice, potatoes, beans, wheat, etc.) Cooking them makes them digestible, and they do provide important nutrients like B vitamins, calcium, and iron. Cooking also increases nutritional value of some foods like carrots, asparagus, and tomatoes (though it's advised to steam or cook them for a short amount of time).
Aurora Borealis Just for the sake of clarity, canines have absolutely no saying as to how much an animal is designed to eat meat. There are actual herbivores with large canines like saber toothed deer for example. So i would say bringing up canines either way is a very weak aspect to prove or disprove optimal diet. Also you seem to be appealing to nature a lot in your comment so be wary of that in case you end up debating carnists.
And they say a vegan diet is ‘too extreme’?! This makes me so upset! Our poor planet and all of these poor animals... humans are just the worst sometimes
Hold up, he said eating plant based his back started hurting? When I started working out my back pain went away. I still however had foot pain that my doctor couldn't figure out and said maybe it's early signs of gout based on my bloodwork. I then went vegetarian and ate fruits. A vegan spokesman likes vegetables and a carnivore spokesman likes meat. No surprise there so pick the one that lies the least and go that way. The ancestral diet is logically best!
A few years ago I lived on a fully vegan diet for about two years and my pain and inflammation went through the roof (I am 55 with Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosed in my thirties). I went back to eating a 'normal' UK diet after my gallbladder was removed and my RA got gradually worse. I was put on Tramadol, Nortriptylene, Naproxen, Methrotrexate and Hyroxychlorine none of which made a huge difference to the pain. I have now been on a Keto, nearly carnivore way of eating for nearly 8 weeks, within the first week my pain and inflammation was greatly reduced. I have since been able to reduce my pain meds by 2 thirds, I have more energy and my brain fog is gone. The evidence speaks for itself!!
Just FYI, your personal story isn’t evidence, and a vegan diet isn’t necessarily healthy (a lot of junk food is vegan). We have no idea if you followed a whole food, plant based diet while being vegan. We also don’t know if you were getting enough nutrients, if you were drinking or doing drugs, if you had any other lifestyle triggers/variables, etc. Even if you stated that you followed Dr. Esselstyn’s diet to a T, we have no way to determine the accuracy of your claim (you need an objective observer). EVIDENCE is obtained through scientific research and controlled study. I’m not saying whole food veganism is perfect for everyone, but please don’t use the term “evidence” to describe how great the keto and carnivore diets are (not unless you have some actual evidence). It’s dangerous to insinuate keto/carnivore diets are safe.
Hi Mic. Keen to see your bloodwork and list of medications and ailments you have, you know, to prove how incredibly healthy you are. Would be a fascinating read.
A vegan diet would only make sense if we have revolved to eat that way. It’s interesting only plant eating animals have adapted to eating specific plants. What’s in the grocery store is GMO so how can you begin to claim we have evolved to eat these specific plants?
Lots of body builders die young. Typical reasons include enlarged heart, and kidney failure. I suspect it has more to do with steroid abuse than anything else.
As an ex vegan and X vegetarian who has been in alternative medicine for 10 years and spent about 8,000 hours treating people and another 2,000 hours studying the GI tract because the GI tract is the root of most problems, and someone who grows all their own produce for the last 20 years and grew up on a farm, I can sadly report that the ketogenic diet is far superior for the health of my clients then vegan or vegetarian. The only thing better that I have seen work is the carnivore diet, and the only thing better than that is a carnivore diet one meal a day. I literally have greenhouses with aquaponics, Hydroponics, and aeroponic systems and have been enjoying produce for 52 years. But I have to tell the truth to people even though it's not a truth I like. Anybody who tries carnivore diet for 7 to 21 days will have such amazing results that they will never be able to go back. I am sitting here on the side of a mountain in Hawaii right now visiting friends looking at a tangerine tree and banana trees and papaya trees with all kinds of beautiful fruit ready to be eaten and I will not touch it. Once you feel this good you can't go back. I raised my children to love plant matter and to this day one of them it's still a vegetarian. She has still never had a menstrual cycle. I have seen this with many of mine vegan and vegetarian clients. Your bodies will not have a cycle because their bodies cannot support a child. I feel a certain level of guilt for having raised my children to say this way. Much more guilt than I feel over eating a lobster. I became a vegetarian because of my love of animals but now I have learned to except my place in the hierarchy of the food chain. And I am swimming in the ocean I am not the apex predator and when I am in the jungles of Costa Rica I am not the apex predator but most of the time I am. To help me with my guilt over eating animals I only eat once a day and I eat lots of cheese and eggs. I do not slam massive amounts of me unconsciously. When I Do by a beef I am involved in the processing and I try to make it as spiritual of an event as I can. I now truly understand why the Plains Indians worshiped the buffalo. my apologies for all the misspellings but I'm using voice to post this.
This. I was skeptical of keto or carnivore for years, but I just did 30 days and went from 19.7% BF to 11.3% using hydrostatic weighing. My Bp went from the 140s to 120/79 and I felt phenomenal. Mind you, I was eating very clean with lots of vegetables before with no processed food. Sorry vegans, it's over.
While a carnivore diet might work from a nutritional stand of point, what about the incredibly high risk of cancer? Most studies, at least the ones that are accurate and not funded by the meat industry, conclude excessive red meat consumption is correlated to a higher cancer rate. I personally eat it 1 to 2 times per week maximum which is considered relatively safe by most medical institutions, I couldn't imagine eating it every single day. Let's just say we'll have to wait and see what carnivores look like 40 years from now, that way we'll know how the carnivore diet works in the longer term. If the majority of carnivores get ill, then it will be pointless to praise the nutritional benefits of the diet.
@@axel.lessio Do you have any studies that show a causative relationship between cancer and grass fed hormone free meat in only metabolically healthy people? Maybe there are, but it seems like a lot of the studies linking CVD and other issues to certain things don't control for that. Of course whether someone switches to vegan or carnivore from a horrible diet of processed foods they will improve. Feel free to link me some, but I feel like all the one's I've been fed in school seem pretty flawed. This is taken from Sutter Health. "Does meat really cause cancer? We cannot truthfully say that meat causes cancer. It’s not that simple. Although many studies have linked meat consumption, particularly of red and processed meat, to cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity, and a shorter lifespan, this does not mean that meat consumption causes these issues."
@@axel.lessio Furthermore, although veganism has probably been around a lot longer and only time will tell with carnivore, it already seems obvious to me which is better. Why do so many vegans end up hospitalized or dead from health issues? I constantly see that, yet haven't heard of one carnivore ending up hospitalized if they were a healthy person prior.
@@WildernessMedic, to be fair I do think organic beef in appropriate quantity does no harm, while processed food, sunflower oil, gluten and sugar are the real killers in the modern diet. I love grass fed beef. However, I wouldn’t start eating red meat every day also because of what you said: the literature on the matter is blurry at the moment and there aren’t enough studies regarding a carnivore diet with organic meat. I rather be conscientious, admit I have no authority on the matter and recognise most scientists and organisations would not recommend such diet.
5 mummies. They studied 5 Inuit mummies. Good luck drawing conclusions from that data set. Here’s the conclusion you should draw: researchers found three Inuit mummies with probable atherosclerosis. No other conclusions should be drawn from a sample so small.
I'm not even vegan but I love how people wanna dislike and talk crap about this video, with 0 facts or evidence against it. You waste more resources by farming meat than you do vegetables. How is that even debatable? Then the carnivores listened to Dr. Baker's lecture on how wrong epidemiological studies are.... and then cite epidemiology for carnivores. Funny how that logic works out.
I’m not arguing for either side. Have been on carnivore diet for the last few months and have lost 49 pounds so far. Feel great, look great, skin is clear, no cramps. Blood work looks great too. I don’t care about all of these youtuber n stuff promoting it. Just eat all types of meat and don’t stick to just beef.
Completely bias, do what works for you. Ive tried vegan for almost 10 months and felt like shit, i broke out alot more, felt depressed, and just felt weak mentally and physically, I've started the carnivore diet about 4 months ago and have never felt better. But like i said do what works best for you
Thanks Mike, for this great video with the awesome references. I’m talking with some “carnivores” on Twitter atm. The appeals to “manhood” is really confused and strange. This idea that, “if I kill or pay someone else to kill for me and I eat animal meat, then I’m a good manly man” keep coming up as an underpinning belief in what they’re saying. When I challenge them on how superficial and deluded I find this idea, they have nothing to put forward that offers more substance. Just slogans like “be a man, eat a steak” etc
Where this sort of mindset exists, principally in America, you would think all these macho men would be more careful with their health - considering the alternative is highly expensive medical treatment when they get Diverticulitis or Colonic Cancer or a blockage in their digestive tract that needs to be removed by surgery.
“You know, I’ve studied these large Facebook groups, like an anthropologist”. 😂🤦🏻♀️
Yeah and on another video (Tom Bilyeu EAT MEAT) he "took a poll." Is there an icon where you're slapping yourself in the head? Insert that here.
Wow the guy is gonna charge 50 dollars a month to teach something that he never checked blood work for “evidence”
There's a sucker born every minute.
Would any amount of evidence honestly convince you to eat only meat?
But hey, he's an MD, who thinks "all nutritional science" is bullshit!

It's totally benign, and I've found since being vegan and eating tons more fibre that I've had no more palpitations, unless I've had a day where I'm really busy and haven't eaten much of anything and my stomach gets upset.
i used to be on medication for my extremely high blood pressure- it is now 114/66 & i give all the credit to veganism

"Toxins from the meat" No, sorry, I don't believe you. I have done my own research as well. Debunking his pseudoscience is like a walk in the park for you... The one thing I wish you and all other vegans would move towards, is talking more (I know you already do this sometimes) about "eating animals" vs. "eating meat". Why?:
1) The dictionary definition of meat already included plant-based foods for hundreds of years before Beyond Meat was invented, so talking about vegan meats, and even pushing the concept that "Vegans Eat Meat" (happens to be the name of a music video I made in the summer as well ;) just like we always tell people that vegans eat pizza, ice cream etc., would be way more effective in my opinion at making animal eaters open minded to trying the cruelty-free lifestyle than telling people to stop eating all of their favorite foods, "meat is murder" etc.

Great video btw.
he is an orthopedic surgeon
I just have to point out one thing that is a blatant lie; diverticulitis has nothing to do with a fibre deficiency, in fact, the natural treatment I received for this was a low-fibre (and by nature, a low-carb diet) diet specifically.
Low fibre for recovery and then higher fibre long-term which has been strongly shown to reduce the risk.
And many people have a genetic proclivity for it whereas some people will never develop it.
I was a vegan for years. It was good but I couldn't build muscles.I had an ache in my leg, I wore glasses. At 70 years old. I went Carnivore. My pain in my leg is gone. I don't wear glasses anymore. My body is more muscular. My PTSD is gone. I'm more grounded and peaceful.I eat once a day most days. I don't listen to others about what is best for me. I try them and then I evaluate. So GOOK LUCK on your journey.
He sounds like he's dying.. seriously.
0 × 3 =
*still zero*
Poor Dr, the lights are on and no one is home. :-)
Scott V Grube Poor scott must be fun eating grass all day n pretend u really love it onli to eat meat on side wen noones looking. Fuck outta here pretending like u kno wat u speak of.
$50 A MONTH?! Just to have some guy tell me to only eat meat?! 🤣
Why does every Vegan who pops up on my youtube seem like he's just run a 100km marathon and is about to die?
Man, you look worn out.
I'm pretty sure this guy was as runner in college, so that would make sense.
Mr Meat Doctor looks and sounds like a burn victim.
what and you think going vegan will make his voice sound different? have u never met someone with a rough voice?? hes 51 and feeling the best hes ever felt. and have u seen him? extremely fit. go look on his instagram
Looking at his colour and how flushed he is, I’m guessing he has high blood pressure from all the meat.
What about all the evidence that Mic has just provided. Could you provide evidence showing that he is incorrect.
You are the bomb. Thank you for backing everything up with legitimate studies.
Yeh, all that info on 'Eskimos thriving' came from a debunked poorly researched paper years ago.
Inuit eat mostly raw meat, and supplement with berries and other veggies as they can find them. But, their environments being as inhospitable to plants as they are, I would tend to side with the notion that full carnivore is better for some than others.
thok ling yet you can’t provide evidence
It only takes a Google search for "inuit diet". Wikipedia is the first to show up, and there are plenty of links for further information.
Having people spoon feed knowledge to you is the worst state to be in if you want to properly manage your health. Personal responsibility is an important tool.
thok ling if it’s not that hard then you should be able to provide evidence for your claims like us vegans generally can🤷🏻♂️
What studies?
Yes the diet raises your cholesterol. That’s kind of the point…
LOL, your life expectancy is not good and your blood work is even worse.
High-fat red meat causes excessive mucus In the body, hence his mucus gurgling noises when ever he talks........
Davy Oneness ew
Dairy does that even more, but you're right.
Sodium too, which is what animals products is teeming with.
funny i eat grassfed dairy and have no mucous problems at all!
Cynthia Beckett, yea, studies say really no connection. But I would experience it if I ate way too much dairy in a day. But I stopped out of compassion for the animals, not myself. Grassfed is a nice thought, but they deserve much more respect than that, I feel....
His spin-off book is titled: Nobody Poops
P.S. Awesome job yet again Mic!
Lol
starts explaining the all the meat diet- immediately brings up Facebook group
Juan anecdotes are not science bro. Clearly enough science to back off vegan diet, where is yours?
Do you think meat is magical? What nutrients are vegans not getting? How are there healthy vegans?
Juan You DO know that one of the side effects of the keto diet is death ?
@@Mettttie anecdotes are experience, experience is data, if the data is being experimented with by many individuals and they all come out with the same or similar outcomes that data then becomes science. So, you're wrong.
@Emma Cote you don't get vitamin d from the sun, it helps keep the vitamin d levels stable.
Now that guy is a real orthorexic.
Or just a moron.
They absorb massive stimulants in adrenaline, stress hormones, carnitine, heme iron, etcetera from the animal
death they eat. I think it harkens to caveman mentality, that it is ancient and therefore okay. If you believe plants
are dangerous, they convince themselves that eating like a lion is manly (or womanly).
Liver and raw meat for vitamin C. Wow. People are ready to do that but can't eat a damn orange. The fuck.
It's both sad and hysterical that some people actually think eat dead bodies all days is the key to health.
His voice is terrifying.
It’s funny how mic sounds like a crazy hippie until you go vegan and then everything makes sense
I was vegan for 7 years , vegetarian for 22 years and I can tell you for sure: everything he tells you is dangerous misinformation. Run, dude, run!
@Jimmy S I am wrong with what? That I got rid of my autoimmune disease by changing my diet from vegan to carnivore?

No, you DON'T know this and to say so is simply childish.
Your videos are great, Mic. Thanks for the great work you do.
It's as if they are afraid that using logic and serious studies to support their current position might lead them to a conclusion they don't want so they just go full bananas.
Exactly. They don’t seem to understand that animals eat the same plants they are sitting here trashing and then we eat their meat. 😂
I actually feel like I'm getting other people's bugs if I don't get at least half of my Vit C daily dose at the start of the day! How is this guy managing?!!
i honeslty believe he is sick as all hell, he looks and sounds it but he is probably so used to feeling that way he doesnt notice
is your profile pic serious black? I love it
No lol, its actually me. Its not supposed to be sinister...
he surely gets vitamin C. he's a liar.
Quite easily, I’ve been all meat 2.5years, guess what? All blood work perfect, all bowel movements regular and healthy unlike before, energy and concentration levels awesome unlike before. The benefits are very real
Joe rogan- “What, your back started hurting from eating apples?!”
Meat “Dr” - “yes yes it did”
Think that this guy is so fringe that most meat eaters would disagree with him, unless they really have an agenda to push....
Let's Do Better Now absolutely. Think that this dude is simply crazy.....
KatLuna's Coven thinking about eating raw meat makes me want to puke my guts out. Yuck
Id much rather have raw whale for my vitamin c intake than eating an orange like a peasant!!!..😂
Silvia Glitter fucking preach
Gamerphobia look son!!! a complete fucking moron!!
I feel like I should clarify that I was joking lol.
If people actually felt good and healthy being a vegan, then more people would do it.
People are afraid of being different, has nothing to do with the diet
Yeah, cause we’re all slowly dying. 🙄 I’ve personally never felt better.
So his a doctor in the same way the that guy from Alex Jones went to MIT just because he took a single how to class at MIT that was not pat of any MIT curriculum.
Been vegan for 1 month now, your videos are so good and they keep me on the good track, thanks for the good work :D
keep it up and convert over to whole foods. I guarantee you will feel much better. Lot's of variety, no processed garbage!
Thaaaaaaanks Mic!!!!! This is dope. Your patience is rad.
That bodybuilder died from choking not having a heart attack. Lift weights and eat steaks.
Dude. He just showed the ACTUAL DEATTH CERTIFICATE. "atherosclerosis" do you even know what that is?
"I don't know why this happened and may be he magically didn't do something that bad."
He literally explained why in Joe Rogan interview.
Is the fruit diet or frugivore the diet humans are "supposed to" adapt. Many people who are raw and only eat fruit say that. Can you make a video on it and your opinions. Maybe state the pros and cons and the misconceptions I guess.
Mizz FlaireBeauty Nutritionfacts.org has a pretty good video,to summarize it our body is best suited for fruit, seeds(including nuts) and foliage.Fruit is obviously vital to health but we won't thrive of a fruitarian diet alone,we need at least some vegetables and grains.
he's already made one. check out his raw vegans video
Check out John McDougall and the Starch Solution.

Just for the sake of clarity, canines have absolutely no saying as to how much an animal is designed to eat meat. There are actual herbivores with large canines like saber toothed deer for example. So i would say bringing up canines either way is a very weak aspect to prove or disprove optimal diet.
Also you seem to be appealing to nature a lot in your comment so be wary of that in case you end up debating carnists.
Diverticulitis looks like a very uncomfortable condition!
Within 3 weeks my foot pain stopped entirely and I can walk and stand for hours and have so much energy. I'm now a month and a half into my diet change and plan to go vegan.
Wow, congrats! Hope you're doing well :)
@@dripshameless5605 thank you. I’m doing great actually. I’m no longer pre diabetic and my cholesterol is good now. All from going vegetarian. I’m still planning to go vegan.
@@quint7227 As a medical doctor, I'm SO happy and proud to hear that! Wonderful stuff. Do what you can. Even if you do go vegan, don't lose your mind if you desperate crave dairy once in a while. And please remember to exercise (overall I'd say resistance based exercise is the best). Congrats on getting healthy, best wishes :)
A vegan spokesman likes vegetables and a carnivore spokesman likes meat. No surprise there so pick the one that lies the least and go that way. The ancestral diet is logically best!
I am sooo tired of hearing about the "carnivore diet!!"
UUUUGGHH
Sooo disgusting!!! 👿
You haven't even been on the diet long enough to make that claim. All of those drugs you are on though....
Would be a fascinating read.
.-. Are you serious? Look up “mic the vegan, my blood test” you don’t want it. You want to ask this and pretend like it’s gunna be bad
If you did any information on why he lost his license, you’d realize that he explained it.
If animals weren't meant to be eaten, why are they made out of food?
Grizzle Drizzle Humans are technically considered animals, so you're saying animals are made out of food?? Lmao! 😅😂 WOW! You can't be serious, right??
5 mummies. They studied 5 Inuit mummies. Good luck drawing conclusions from that data set. Here’s the conclusion you should draw: researchers found three Inuit mummies with probable atherosclerosis. No other conclusions should be drawn from a sample so small.
*crickets*
'i'm a carnivore' says people who would probably literally vomit if they were teleported into the middle of a slaughterhouse in action
I believe in individualized nutrition and that everyone should research and experiment whatever works for them.
You can’t experiment and then wait to see if you get cancer or not. Tell me you are kidding, right…
