How long ago did the company you work for collect and store the car, was that also when you took that excellent video and was the client the firm I bought the car from Hilton & Moss?
Sorry to keep asking you questions but it is great to have a bit of back history. Hopefully having finished all the time consuming small jobs the car will be back on the road by mid January and ready for the show season of 2024.
Thanks again for all your help. Regards, Mike 😀

I collected it the car in January 2022 and yes I believe that was the company. It went straight to my storage unit in Rettendon Essex where it sat for nearly a year with regular start ups and moved a few times. We didn’t do anything to the car , just cleaned it before it was trailered away this year some time . I think it was about 6 months or so ago

That Daimler looks amazing. I see it was 12 months ago. But Do you know who did the restoration and where the car is now, it doesn't look if it has been driven since the rebuild. The seats are not even creased. A lot of money to spend on one of these lovely cars. 😀

It was a company out near stansted airport Essex . The company closed down and we got the car amounts other cars and parts as a job lot .. the car is now with another company , I literally see it last week and is still local. I was briefly up at Jaguar heritage on display, but is now back in Essex . If you want any more info let me know 👍🏻. The car I think has done around 50 miles in the past 2-3 years since the restoration

Thanks for the update. It was I think restored by the same firm that rebuilt my XK150 some 25 years ago, Fulbridge Engineering of Malden, for the previous owner, his add up to a cost in excess of £150K!
It seems the Daimler cost in excess of £115K
I have just agreed to buy it, from a firm in Bishops Stortford, but thankfully not at anything near that price.
I just happened to be looking at utube for info on any Daimler XJC's and your post came up.
I was hoping to piece together some more history of the car as it all seems pretty sparse. So thank you for filling in a bit more. If you know anymore please pass any info on. Best wishes,

It wasn’t Fullbridge as they closed down some
Years ago .. , I did my learnings at Fullbridge and I knew darrel and Rick very well.. unfortunately Darrell has passed .. but this car was restored at a place near near stansted airport around 3 years ago from former Fullbridge guys .. I have some of the Fullbridge team along with the jd classic team with me now restoring e types

Thank you so much for taking the time to come back to me. I really do appreciate it as I'm trying to piece its history together. If you can provide any more info that would be amazing. What was the name of the company who did the rebuild and I wonder where the car was after the restoration. It's done less than 900 miles since 1992. I was told someone had spent over £110K on the restoration. Whoever has done it did a superb and through job. It's now down in East Devon. I have had to replace all the rubber petrol pipes I think they had been corroded by ethanol, fit front wheel arch panels that were missing, the steering rack has had to be rebuilt as it had far too much assistance as it made the car undriveable, the window motors were weak and would not raise the windows without help and hopefully the engine is okay as it was filled with plain water not antifreeze. It is a lovely car and I look forward to using it soon. Thank you for the info and anything else you can tell me would be great too. A Happy and Healthy New Year to you. Best wishes, Mike.😀

@mikelavers1704 it was restored at a company that closed its doors a few years ago out near stansted airport Essex.. my client purchased the car along with a lot of other items from the liquidation of that company . It had £110k plus spent on it like you were told and I think the trim job alone was around 15,000 from what I was told. We only stored the car for my client and delivered it in a trailer . I only ever drove the car onsite on a private estate for photos and a video for him. I do remember the steering was very very light ! I think the restoration was done around 5 years ago maybe 6 and sat in a show room at the place where it was restored . I’ll try find out the name of the company. When I collected it for him in a trailer the company had already closed its doors no signs anywhere and it was in the unit covered up.

Hi. Again. If you were able to find out who the closed down firm that restored my car it would pretty well complete my history file. The car having sorted many small and some not so small problems will now be ready to be used this spring and summer. It's all come together rather well. Again , thanks for your help. Cheers, Mike.

Ok so I found out out the car was started to be restored by Fullbridge restoration in Maldon , when they closed their doors some years back the car and a lot of the inventory was bought up by a chap called Kevin who started a restoration company and took on a lot of the old fullbridge team as well as some former JD classics guys .. the company was called warren classics near stansted airport . It now no longer exists either (the owner was mainly restoring his own cars there)
