there are a lot of Dominicans in Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans have picked up the slang. Fulano de tal is a metaphor for a well known person.

chin comes from the Arawak indian language ....some arawaks lived in Colombia.....you can tell by the usuage of same words from Venezuela , Colombia ...cuba Puerto rico and Dominican republic... even some in chile ....explain the wide variety of the usage of guagua

Here in Brazil we say ´´Pitada`` as ´´Chin``. Like, in portuguese is ´´ Põe uma pitada de sal no molho`` (coloca un chin de sal en la salsa)

In Venezuela we use "Chinchin", "Dame un Chinchin de ese arroz chamo". We also say "Pelín", "Echame un pelín de esa salsa, pero sólo un pelín"

Easy the slang word chin or chililin in Puerto Rico means when u need to add only just a little more when its taken from a cooking perspective or just to take or give a very small amount of something; by example: when you cook rice you should always use a chin of salt. But also u could say just give a chililin of that salt to add to the rice. meaning you want way less salt than the previously requested with chin. interesting how words make people go crazy. I will left you with this one güaymara its a native jibaro word from Puerto Rico can you guess what it means.

I just wanted to share and the little girl looked at me with wide eyes and turned to see the lady next to her. I was later explained what it meant in Mexico... Embarrassing I was in Puebla.
