Thanks for the link to the build. Headlights and bumper look amazing. Transforms the look and it comes off as integrated like a factory option. The LED bars really help on a dark backroad or in the woods. Good job on how you install and adjust. That helps a lot.
Amigo! Sweet review brother. I just found these headlights and I’m definitely saving up for this mod. It is a game changer for that 2nd Gen. I have the same truck 2012. Awesome review once again. Headed to the tail light video next 😂🤙🏼
I personally think the Alpharex Nova with sequential turn and initiation lighting at unlock are the best looking lights for these Tacos 2.5. Straight up I have a second Gen 2 and so this wasn’t quite an option for me but I still wanted that similar looking so I went with ANZO 111-581. Pricing was around the same. It has all the same features as well and TBH their wiring is even more plug and play .. nothing through the firewall. I don’t see many vids of anyone with these but I did make a few snippet videos which I may put into a UA-cam clip! Thanks for posting this.. nice vid mate! 👍🏼
Lights look great, but my passenger side low beam went out just over a year into owning them. Warranty replaced it but it was a struggle getting them to communicate with me on it. And it took over 3 weeks to get one for replacement.
Yeah, I’m running the Lasfit LEDs. I hate DRLs as a general rule. Also my +2 fiberglass from McNeil racing makes figment a little more complicated. I would go for the swap if the DRLs could be manually actuated. I contacted alpha Rex and they told me it couldn’t be done. Nice battery too💪
@@truthseeker8123 I think that's an Optima Battery... used to,be good but took huge dive when they were taken over by Johnson Controls and then in 2019 they diverged into Clarios and have gotten even worse. my last one was garbage in less than 3 years. bought a North Star and never looked back
I too have a 2012, a TRD sport, and I have both headlights and taillights luxx in alpha black to go with my eventually blacked out truck, I love the lights and especially when I unlock the truck the light sequence is so awesome lookin especially at night. I was apprehensive when I saw all the wires it came with but thanks to UA-cam I was able to install them no problem, and was also worried about hyperflashing, but everything turned out awesome, I even ordered sequential blacked out mirror turn signals and the sequentials paired perfectly with the headlights 👌🏾, I've seen various taco owners switch from the blue to amber DRL, not gonna lie, they actually look better with amber, might have to switch over this weekend 🤔awesome lookin truck bro 👍🏽
I may have created a small hole in the rubber. I have so many things routed through there now I have had to get creative. I think I also attached the head of it to a long screw driver using electrical tape to feed it through
@@alpinetactics I ended up using an X-Acto knife to make a hole and got a fiber glass rod made to guide the wire and it worked but I’m gonna go back and cover the hole with electrical tape just in case nothing goes through
Great looking tacoma! Quest? Does anyone know what the upper adjustment knob/screw actually raises or does on the Nova series headlights? The lower knob w/ a no. 2 Phillips obviously raises the beam/cut-off. But I have no clue what the upper is adjusting…
I for sure understand the sentiment. I definitely wish I had spent more time with the last head unit before putting out any kind of video on it. At the time I was a fairly new video creator and was very excited about that head unit. Unfortunately over time that head unit gave me a lot of problems 🤦♂️. I learned a lot from that mistake and this time around I used it several months before reviewing it.

Dang man that sucks! Thanks for letting us know

Do i need the resistors for the turn signals? Cuz mine is doing hyper flashing. Lmk brother thank you
Possibly. If you have everything hooked up correctly and it’s still doing it, I would reach out to Alpha Rex
They look great 👍 thank for the video, I really like the look of these headlights , ordering them from sure ✌️
Awesome! Glad it helped!
The look great but for the best 2nd gen tacoma head lights, I think the Syder headlights are the best performance head lights
Nice, I will have to look into those. I Have not heard too much about them. Thanks for letting us know!

Where do I get that bumper, can you give me the link to buy it? I have a 2012 tacoma
Unfortunately they are no longer in business
How did you get the wire Through the fire wall because I’m stuck on that and I’m thinking about just cutting a tiny hole

Looking nice is a lot work all the wires but it is Looking good
Thanks! I agree
What are the lumens of the novas?
I don’t know, I haven’t been able to find that info myself

Thanks! The upper one supposedly adjusts the beam left to right but I didn’t really notice any movement at all after adjusting it slightly myself.
Which Midland GMRS did you get?
This one - amzn.to/3lwoT9W
Should I do a video on it?
@@alpinetactics no more baofeng?
@@angell6425 I still have it and will still for sure have a use for it. Just wanted a hard mount option, much easier for on the trail

@@angell6425 no yet but I definitely plan to!
Does the backlight on your BD light bar blink when you use your turn signals?
No it does not
@@alpinetacticsDo you remember where you tapped too?
@@wanderlust332 yes the ignition add a fuse that came with these headlights. I spliced the backlight wire into that grey wire.
@@alpinetactics Thank you!!!!!
@@wanderlust332 your welcome 👍
So you paid over a thousand bucks for them light assemblies and it doesn’t even come with a wire harness
It does it’s just not as clean of a setup as it should be for the price.
Not sure if I should listen to you anymore after ordering that garbage head unit you recommended! 😂
