You can save 5-10 minutes of walking time by heading directly to Perth Underground from the location of the green sculpture (the cactus) instead of crossing the road to Central Station and then walking back to Perth Underground. To do this, go straight past the green sculpture and through the passageway where H&M is located. You'll find an escalator that leads directly down to Perth Underground.
