The explanation I heard for why Nick Fury didn't call Captain Marvel during the events of the first Avengers movie is that Captain Marvel was busy saving other planets. This explanation kind of falls apart when you realize the aliens who attacked New York were after the Tesseract, which housed one of the Infinity Stones, a device which could be used to destroy the universe if it were to fall into the wrong hands (which is exactly what happens when Thanos gets it). Even if Fury didn't know that's what the Tesseract was, he should have realized how dangerous it was when it was used to open a portal to allow an alien army to invade. That seems like the sort of thing Captain Marvel should be concerned about if she's only concerned with "big" problems since, you know, a device which makes it possible to invade planets instantly over light years can be a big threat to the universe at large.

The Natasha's peanut butter sandwich had more screen time than Capitain Plank, thanks God she wasn't in the entire movie, only at the end and Thanos beat her with the Patriarchy Stone, soooooooo yes.
They had to keep her out of the majority of the movie because apparently (I'm guessing) one of the writers realized she broke 100% of any storytelling conflict she was in. At least Dr. Manhattan could be influenced by his lover and his faith in humanity. Carol barely cares about Earth and showed zero reaction to Fury (the one person she had any emotional connection to) getting dusted. She's literally just /kill: the character.
Every time I look at captain marvel’s eyes i see nothing, just blank. Yet the movie tries its best to convince everyone that she’s emotionally unstable.... o k e y
I have to say that Captains marvel was so emotionless literally a marble statue has more feelings in its face than this woman. Wether she was saving the galaxy or learning about her pass her expression was like a metal hard and cold. Even if these was on purpose then the director didn't know wtf he was doing.
I legit feel like captain marvel would have been a better movie if it was about an introvert having trouble expressing emotions learning to express emotions better. Because at least then half the dialogue would make any damn sense (all the characters talk about captain marvel being emotionally unstable...yet she's less expressive than the literal computer overlord program that mocks her for this).

Dude. Why the fuck did they take away his name? Carol isn't named Captain Marvel in the movie. No one even says the word "Marvel" once in the film. It was pointless to take away that name. Call him Shazam if you want but he will always be Captain Marvel to me.
To me, there are two ways to make an op character interesting. 1. Give them a challenge/danger/threat/enemy to face that is at an equal/higher level of power then them. Something that no one else but the op character can face, and not without great difficulty. 2. Give them a mental/psychological problem to overcome that their immense strength can’t solve, or physical challenge that their intelligence can’t fix.
I don't dislike OP characters. I dislike OP characters who don't suffer. You know, the ones who are praftically God's wannabes and don't have feelings or any weakness. That's why superman is so fucking great despite being a Gary Stue. He has weakness and enemies that can exploit them.

Captain Marvel 1: Owned by DC comics, 10 year old Billy Batson is given powers by the wizard Shazam and becomes Captain Marvel. Captain Mar-Vel: Owned by Marvel comics and initially used to ape Superman, a male super character who could go toe to toe with Thanos. Was created with the sole purpose of Marvel to try and get the rights of "Captain Marvel". Captain Marvel 3: Owned by Marvel comics, a black woman with an afro, hoop earrings, and bell bottoms. Mostly made just to keep the lawsuit of Captain Marvel against DC running. Captain Marvel 4: Owned by Marvel comics, a white woman who don't need no man and can do anything and deliberately disobeys working law structures and made her own prison for those she personally deemed criminals. Written by tumblr rejects who now occupy 98% of MCU. Eventually DC just shrugged and now calls their Captain Marvel "Shazam", since folks often called him that anyway.
Well, DC changed Captain Marvel name to not give Marvel free advertisement. IMO opinion it's incredibly dumb to have him called Shazam as if someone asks "Hey, who are you?" and he answers "Shazam" he reverts back to Billy Batson.

@@fulcrumthebrave5715 Ahem. Well, for one, Korra's a stupid, self-centered bitch of a character who everyone in the show treats like she's the most special snowflake, heaping endless praise on her just for being born the Avatar. Anyone who says anything mean or even slightly critical of her is always proven "wrong" by the end of the episode-- even if they're actually right. She can act however she wants without consequence, because the writers will bend over backwards to get her out of it. Like how she lost, and then almost immediately regained her bending through Bullshit- ex machina in one episode, for example. As a direct consequence, she isn't allowed to grow as a person, and has no real arc. Why would she? After all, she's supposed to be *perfect* . She's not supposed to have weaknesses, or vulnerabilities, or flaws, even if showing that she has at least a few might serve to humanize her, and make her more relatable. It's almost as if showing her in a state of distress, where she might actually have to struggle, or may actually need help or guidance, would violate, or upend some kind of narrative that the showrunners are no doubt desperately trying to sell you. She's a mary sue, and that they never allow her to become more than that, that they outright refuse to allow her the opportunity to grow during the 3 seasons or so makes her show garbage. And Capt. Marvel is the exact same way. She's all-powerful, perfect, has no weaknesses, is unphased by literally everything, and anyone who says otherwise is either outright evil (Yon Rogg), or is a cardboard cutout that exists only to push the faux-empowerment message-- which she reinforces.. by doing fuck all for most of the movie, and then breezing through an entire fleet of alien warships with powers that she never earned or learned how to properly control. You can enjoy that joyless shitshow of a movie if you want, but don't you dare try to tell me that either of those things are good.
At least Korra was kinda hot in a muscle girl kinda way. That dog faced woman they got in Captain Marvel is pretty ugly tbh. Also, Korra ruined Avatar, whereas Captain Marvel is just some unispired current year capeshit. Therefore, Korra's crimes are much greater.
The problem with traditional female characters is that they were human beings with the emotion of love. We need to progress beyond this concept of love and make a woman more than a human being by removing all human qualities from her.

Man, that last scene with Yon Rogg saying, "Prove to me you can beat me without your powers" and getting blasted was so disappointing. Like, sure, she doesn't have to prove herself to him, but she SHOULD be trying to prove herself to ME, the audience. The writers should be trying to make her endearing to me, but apparently it's more important to them that they affirmative-actioned her into ultimate power with no effort and no flaws to overcome. They literally gave her the power of an infinity stone and she had to do nothing to learn to control or utilize them, she's just automatically the best. I guess we're meant to assume that in the 6 years she was living with the Kree they trained her, but that's only implied by the fact that she knows how to use her powers. Then again, how could they train her how to use her powers if even THEY didn't know what they were, as this most assuredly has never happened before or since? This whole movie is just one big lame plot hole. Ugh, come on, Marvel.
The truth is she couldn't beat him in a hand to hand combat. The movie of course doesn't directly acknowledge this and that's why the scene doesn't quite work. My prediction: She will fight Yon-Rogg in the sequel and beats him with ease because she trained off-screen and now she's somehow perfect in combat too. Typical Mary Sue.
@JRPGFan20000 We can explain Shuri's intelligence by saying she loved in a society that was always superior to the rest of the world. She has the knowledge of previous Wakandan scientists. Her intelligence is not just her own.

*cough* *cough* One Punch Man.
Guts from Berserk. He's the embodiment of "man too angry to die" yet his struggle is extremely harrowing and his growth as a character is brilliant.
I think Superman in Man of Steel fits this description nicely.

@L Lawliet I swear if she gets to say "Avengers assemble!" instead of Steve...
At least Korra was kinda hot in a muscle girl kinda way.
That dog faced woman they got in Captain Marvel is pretty ugly tbh.
Also, Korra ruined Avatar, whereas Captain Marvel is just some unispired current year capeshit. Therefore, Korra's crimes are much greater.
that “What other numbers could they be lying about” ending just hit me like a truck, and now i wann see alita. thanks for the recomendation
Alita is a pretty good movie when you get past how choppy some of the special effects (and action) is. Not sure if it's still in cinemas, though.
Yeah you should ! It's great !
The problem with traditional female characters is that they were human beings with the emotion of love.
We need to progress beyond this concept of love and make a woman more than a human being by removing all human qualities from her.
You mean put them on a pedastole. Makes sense.
@Eaxl It was never about women, it is about destroying the White male /female relationships .
@Eaxl And you know this how exactly? Cause you definitely aren't a feminist and you probably don't interact with any one that is a feminist so please tell me how you know what actual feminists are like.
@@jghifiversveiws8729 Just go on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and Tumblr. Feminazis are all the same man-hating misandrist sexists who hates all things feminine in women and all things masculine in men.

F that. Download this shit.
Blocked? UA-cam cannot do that. They can remove it from search lists but that does nothing if you bookmarked his channel.
@@SwiftNimblefoot They can region lock it in every region, effectively making the video unwatchable.

@JRPGFan20000 It's funny because Captain Mary Sue got her powers from an Infinty Stone as well but she has zero problems controlling them. MARY SUE.
@JRPGFan20000 We can explain Shuri's intelligence by saying she loved in a society that was always superior to the rest of the world. She has the knowledge of previous Wakandan scientists. Her intelligence is not just her own.
@JRPGFan20000 Hey, you're allowed to point out white feminist Mary Sue's, but not Mary Sue's of noble superior color. Wakanda Fo' Eva.
@JRPGFan20000 Hmmm,good points. But at least,she got beaten in a fight. She's like a half-Mary Sue.
