I remember buying one used; & it was 1986 Estate Wagon with a 2.8 without the side wood tone trim ; It was a great car , & never let us down. The only problem was the paint was lifting off; As most cars from that era did as they were experimenting with water based paints at the time. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it didn't have the serpentine belt that model year, & it had 4 separate belts that model year; Talk about a (PITA) . Long short story it was a very trouble free car, & we sold for what we paid for it; & it was the best used car we ever bought.

There is the early coupe at 1:23, but this video is rather deficient about the early 80s...
-there were T-types well before 1986, I learned to drive in my parents' '83 T-type sedan
-the license plate (coupe/sedan) or hatch (wagon) divided the taillights from being "full width" from the early years till what was on the market was only the notchback coupe/sedan with the plate in the bumper

Still have my 94- one of the finest automobiles to ever grace American roadways. They don't make em like this any more folks.

I have two wagons 1995,1994 both have been trouble-free cars other than usual maintenance. The 94' is my daily driver. When it goes down with a major engine issue I will just replace the engine. I plan to drive it till I die.

Aren’t the 3100 Motors prone for issues or is that just a myth? I got one with 90K miles. How reliable are they?

@@andreyfendich No not a myth. The intake gaskets are plastic. If you change them out for felpro steel and rubber like what should have come on the car the engine will do fine.. that is the only issue i have had with mine and both of mine are hitting 200K
