Thanks for making this. Never knew I wanted to know so much about the Klingon ships until I saw it.

The dominion war source book , said at the beginning of the war they had 6500 ships , not including ships lost in the two wars before that ,
They mass produced ships during the war , but by the end they only had 1600 ships left , hence the ( it will take the klingons a decade to recover)

Well the Mogh seems to be based on Worfs service on the Defiant. Its a very small fast and tank ship and it hit hard he also saw things like the Galaxy were magnets for fire and not able to cycle out of the line as fast.

Klingon ships after the Dominion War can be found on Star Trek Online. Klingon Faction.

I love topics like this. ("What are the after-effects of something we've seen?")
After the devastation of the Battle of Cardassia, it is cool to see what the Kingons did & did NOT have and what changes in philosophy had to be adopted to survive.

Really cool video! Thanks I wondered about this question. Also did the Klingons have to reinvent impulse design if they have the same maneuverability with more armor and technology.

The Mogh Battlecrusier that Worf designed if you really think about it, is just a Klingon version of the Defiant. An im sure we all know how much Worf respected that ship.

I'm thinking that all of the worlds that the Klingons ruled over should had been in full rebellion with the help of the Dominion. The Klingons had to focus on the Dominion instead of sending troops to crush the multiple rebellions all over their Empire. That's why Sloan said that the Klingons won't pose a threat to the quadrant for years to come.

Great presentation and the use of several Star Trek games gives us a taste of what might be should CBS get control of their franchise back from Secret Hideout and go in this direction.
Some of the stuff from STO really isn't bad if a little generic at times.

on the tank mindset speed can be very useful you can get to a battle without slowing down. you can actually dodge if needed ,becuse the more armor and guns you have the more confusion you have with the crew and it becomes easier to get flanked and blown up/ disabled. plus in trek terms nobody thought the USS defyant was going to do well and look at how it did in the war it was almost the most perfect ship in countering most deminion ships . of course it helps to have the right mindset. and if you need a better real world example British battle ships history more speed and less armor.

I understand what you're saying but I don't think people understand the size of that ship. The defiance the size of a bird of prey the ship we're talking about is the size of a Galaxy class it's 600 m and it dwarfs the Klingon Vor'cha

@@trekwars5400 Was it really that big, I couldn't make out the scale? I think it's called a vanity project and Worf never struck me as egotistical. STO origins? Speed and agility are clear factors in battle, if this is an STO ship it's balanced for their game not the practicalities of war and leave it there lol. But in the context of your argument it would be foolish to indulge in their protracted construction while there are gaps in your patrols. 100%
You made a powerful argument at the end of your video. I'd only caution that if you have to strip the mothballed ship down to the bulkheads and rebuild, than it's probably cheaper + faster to build new. Maybe fitting turreted plasma disruptors or disruptor prisms from the Vor'cha onto the wings or hull of outdated hulls is an option with only reactor output being a limiting factor?
You'd think the Vor'cha itself would be an excellent candidate for retrofitting rather than replacement by the massive Negh'var? If agility was a flaw, adding extra inertia damping or thrusters + impulse to the existing design would be a great improvement and certainly not take months or years to complete? I understand it was supposed to outgun Excelsior class ships until the Ambassador beat them to it, not fight off swarms of attack ships so the above might be cheap and sensible?
It's truly a shame the TV show never showed the Vor'cha firing it's many defensive disruptors which cover the flanks of the ship. At 1.03 the closeup shows us 3 disruptor prisms along the top edge of the disruptor module. A couple of those mounted on a K'tinga might be a compelling upgrade over designing a new class of ship or 6 more Bird of Prey variants all of which have forward facing guns?
Food for thought, very enjoyable - what were the Fed's doing?

Interesting video. Small note, though: you have a tendency to repeat yourself, such as saying "the Klingons' shipyard infrastructure was intact" almost two sentences in a row. You should scan for this when editing, and trim where necessary.

I see a disparity between Star Trek TV knowledge vs. Star Trek Online. Star Trek Online was used on Picard Season 3 last two episodes.

As much as I appreciate and enjoy STO, it's mostly fanfiction with a license from CBS to make money from it. If the showrunner of STP want's to save some money using the ship models from STO and make them TV ready, let him try, some of their models have a nice aesthetic but not all of them. But that was all STP took from the STO game and no TV/Movie production team is going to be beholden to what 'they' consider a kids computer game.
To call STO a wiki for Star Trek is an accolade they don't deserve. The game was almost shut down when the studio owners folded and were fortunate to find a buyer. Many people lost their jobs and things are still not great over there.
Don't get me wrong, I wish them the best of success, but you reference the TV shows and movies 1st, the rest is icing on the cake not the meal.

      He did okay :)
My only nitpick is the Kay-vort is "Kay-vort." (P.S.: the K'Vort cruisers were more on the order of 320-350 meters long. I know what the DS9 TM says, so to speak, but as much as I like that book, even its authors admitted that it was rife with errors, especially insofar as scaling is concerned. This is established in the Haynes KBoP book, and it is supported by a netizen's analysis. Try looking up "Suricata, Klingon, scaling" on Google :)
I can't speak to the ST:O ships, but some of them are uber-cool IMO
