What's the relationship between angle of plane of failure with the angle of internal friction?

Thanks for the question Paul, it is pi/4 + angle of friction/2 (all values in radian).
However, it's true only for Mohr Coulomb failure, for other ways of brittle failure they are different.
And secondly this holds true only for intact material with no existing weak planes inside the material.
