Rescued in Markowa: Testimony of Joseph Riesenbach

Joseph Riesenbach was born in 1929 in Markowa. When the killing of the Jews started, they were hidden by their neighbors, Jozef and Julia Bar. Despite the danger of discovery and the murder of their neighbors Jozef and Wiktoria Ulma and their children, the Bar family sheltered the Riesenbachs until liberation.
