2 things I've learned with MREs.. the drink mix tastes much better with 10 oz of water instead of 12, and when cooking an entree + side, put the entree in the FRH, put water in and put it in the box or sleeve as usual. Once it starts pumping steam, put the side item in the box/sleeve on the outside of the FRH but against the side with the heating element. Water will reach the element much better and you'll end up with a hotter entree and side. Also, still lean everything to where the element is against the bottom of the FRH pouch.
creamsicles are popsicles here in the US and its just a mixture of orange and cream.. we also have orange cream soda , strawberry cream soda etc.. then we have regular cream soda too... hey I know your close neighbors have tim tams KIWI DUDE and I've heard tim tams are amazing
strocat25 I love cream soda. A couple of scoops in a glass of Coke = Yum. Tim Tams are a classic over here. There's a lot of ritual attached to the way they're eaten, just like Oreo cookies in the States I guess. You never just bite them in half, you disassemble with your teeth and eat the component parts. Lol.
A creamsicle is a frozen ice cream treat on a stick with a orange citrusy coating. The flavour is like orange sherbert. That MRE looked really good and your little girl is very cute and a top-notch reviewer.
Atheist man Lol.. I'd heard the name before (movies etc..) but had no idea what it was. So now I've had Creamsicle cookies before I've even had a Creamsicle :-) I love U.S. MREs for their 'Americana' content.
"Creamsicle" is an ice cream treat (like a popsicle/ ice lolly) consisting of vanilla ice cream coated in a layer of orange flavored sorbet-like stuff. Really, really yummy combo... they've even invented cocktails & shots based on it... :) PS-- The Boss is adorable!
I just ate the Menu 24, which is also southwest beef and black beans. Mine included Tortillas, Cheese with Jalepeno Spread, Apple Peices with spiced sauce, Chocolate Bananna nut muffin top, and "Turkey Snack" (essentially turkey jerky), It was actually pretty good. I wanted more.
excellent review, thanks for using a tripod. Mexican rice, or Spanish rice is just white rice with tomato sauce and little bits of pepper, celery and other veggies.
My cousin is a marine and whenever I go to 29palms he always gives me a couple of boxes of mre! Now I know where to go to see how they are before I open them lol thanks
small tip on that flameless ration heater. Over fill it, shake it up, then pour out all the water. Once it begins to smoke, take an open flame to the smoke. You'll get a small fireball, then watch that thing get HOT AS FUCK
Your from NZ but have you tried tim-rams? They are in Korea its mainly an Aussie thing but i know its a chocolate bar as i have tried both dark and milk chocolate flavors
Kiwi Dude I just had it recently!!! I was really impressed with the cookies, they were really good! The meal as a whole was surprisingly good you were right! I really want to get a meal that has the jalapeno cheese spread instead of the regular to see the difference!!! Then there is the legendary jalapeno bacon cheese spread...... A man can wish though right? :)
Jamiesyme999 That's the great thing about these rations - the 'lucky dip' factor. I never research the contents prior to a review. It's too much fun discovering the gems.
Kiwi Dude Very true, next time I get one I will show some patience. For this meal I saved some of the cheese and mixed the hot sauce and cheese into the beef with beans. Was really good!
Hi Josh, it's really a hard question to answer as a lot depends on what country you're in and how close you are to a source. If I buy a case from the States I'd be paying about $13 USD per MRE including shipping to New Zealand. Otherwise I've paid up to $25 USD per MRE from a local source. It varies so much.
Hi +PaddyB212 Gaming , yep - I'm a New Zealander. It's a nice place. I've travelled around a bit and still keep coming back home, so there's got to be something in that ;-)
HappyGirlyGirl12 I think the matches are becoming less commonplace in MRE's these days, as not all of them contain a pack. I'm sure in the past their primary use was lighting smokes, and I'm sure they probably still get used for this purpose, but with smoking fading out I'm sure most packs go unused except for the occasional fire for cooking or warmth. Someone in the U.S. forces may read this and be able to elaborate more.
The rock is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the instructions on the flameless ration heater, that instruct you to incline it on "a rock or something" while it cooks :)
What has this world come to! Companies have started using artificial flavors!! I'm only 11 but I member when I was younger creamsicles tasted great now they taste bad!!
You too sir...and thank you for the reviews. Its been a treat seeing your channel grow with each of your reviews...plus, your daughter is such a sweetheart! Thanks again!
anthony yu Considering that the items are shelf stable, I think most taste very good. Even if you don't like a particular component, there's enough in the packs to make most people happy.
A creamsicle is an icecream bar that consists of vanilla icecream surrounded by a thin layer or orange sherbert, very tasty :) I enjoy creamsicle floats myself, orange soda over vanilla icecream

you also bite off the tim tam and use it as a straw to drink coffee.. mmmmmmm .. I've never had one but I' bet they are great!
strocat25 You know all the tricks, I'm impressed!
A creamsicle is a frozen ice cream treat on a stick with a orange citrusy coating. The flavour is like orange sherbert. That MRE looked really good and your little girl is very cute and a top-notch reviewer.
"Our trusty 'rock or something'" great laugh at that. Great video. Look forward to more. Subscribed!
lol the boss is so cool. She shares her father's taste in MRE's. XD I love your reviews. I watch one during breakfast like every day.
***** Thank you. We're glad you're liking them!
i love how you didn't know what a creamsicle was! haha it just shows how different every country is! love the videos man!!
Atheist man Lol.. I'd heard the name before (movies etc..) but had no idea what it was. So now I've had Creamsicle cookies before I've even had a Creamsicle :-) I love U.S. MREs for their 'Americana' content.

PiratesRose9098 Thank you. I wish we had Creamsicles over here!
I Love How Happy Crystal Gets When She Firsts Tastes It And Her Name Fits Her SO Perfectly For Her Personality

Menu 24 is/was the bomb... when i was in we used to trade half our meals for the chocolate banana muffin top
ahaha the boss's sheer joy at that first mouthful. PASS IN MY MOUTH! ahaha
The boss just makes me smile every time she pops up :)
Wish we could taste things through videos..
excellent review, thanks for using a tripod. Mexican rice, or Spanish rice is just white rice with tomato sauce and little bits of pepper, celery and other veggies.
Thanks Dan. This MRE really impressed!
I like how the boss is so eager to try the mre :)
Nice video mate, just bought 3 of these to review and wanted to see what I'm in for!

Thanks. I'd have that one again any day :)
a creamsicle is an ice cream and an ice lolly in one on a stick. The inside is vanilla ice cream and the outside is orange sherbet. :-)
Good that your daughter got a great appetite. Healthy.
Awesome video mate! :D
Thanks Phil, glad you liked it.
'More fun that way'....lol. Its like a surprise in every box.
Walle Coyote Sure is ;-)
Cant believe there wasnt 2 toilet papers cause of the beans...
Sunyoung Cho Lol... Perhaps deleting the matches could be a good idea too ;-)
I tried this the other night but from 2011. It had a different Drink mix (6oz orange) No cookies or cheese spread.. everything else was the same.
My cousin is a marine and whenever I go to 29palms he always gives me a couple of boxes of mre! Now I know where to go to see how they are before I open them lol thanks
Aldrex tulawie Lucky you! That's a great cousin there.
The funny thing is that in Mexico picante sauce refers to hot sauce, while in the USA it usually means salsa.
Thanks. It tasted just like a runny salsa. Quite enjoyable though.
Nice video looking to try out my first MRE. Don’t know which one I should get lol
I miss you kiwi dude

lol
A creamsicle is an orange Popsicle with a vanilla ice cream center
Thanks, it sounds great.
very encouraging
I am from States and never had a kremesicle cookie but have had the kremesicle ice cream bars
Your from NZ but have you tried tim-rams? They are in Korea its mainly an Aussie thing but i know its a chocolate bar as i have tried both dark and milk chocolate flavors
Hi there, yep - Tim Tams are a regular favorite in New Zealanders' shopping. I can remember them being around when I was just a young fella.
Emy sent me here and I am glad she did :)))))
+Unicorn pizza 1964 Welcome to the channel!
Just picked this one up, nice knowing what's inside so I don't feel tempted to open right away!!!
Jamiesyme999 You've got a nice one there, one of my favourites :-)
Kiwi Dude I just had it recently!!! I was really impressed with the cookies, they were really good! The meal as a whole was surprisingly good you were right! This is my favorite mre :)
David Folsom It's one of mine too :-)
how do you get thees mres
Cool video. Any idea how much these cost?
Hi Josh, it's really a hard question to answer as a lot depends on what country you're in and how close you are to a source. Cool you live in New Zealand what it like there!?!?!?!?
Hi +PaddyB212 Gaming , yep - I'm a New Zealander. It's a nice place. I've travelled around a bit and still keep coming back home, so there's got to be something in that ;-)
Nice!!
Really enjoy your content. Found you through gshultz9
Thanks, glad you like them. Gschultz9 does great work too :)
Wow I'm gonna order one of these
Where can you get mre
Have you been through skippers road?
Sunyoung Cho No, but I'd love to try my hand at gold mining!
Were do you get these
Try eBay, it's generally more cost effective to buy a whole case. Cheers.
Haha your daughter reminds me of the girl from 5th element eating chicken for the first time.
I got a MRE Southern style chiken with black beans& rice. Has anyone tried it? I can't find any reviews on it
What are the matches for

where do you buy MRE's?
Hi there, online auction sites are a pretty good source if you don't have any local supply.
ok thanks.keep the vids coming
Thanks Scout, will do.
Where do you get all these MREs XD
Hi there, I did have someone local that brought in cases, but he's stopped, so eBay it is! :)
Kiwi Dude Could i Please buy one or two from you. I would love to try them. But i can't ever get them from ebay. Please could i but one
ebay and amazon
Bradley Macduff Bit late there buddy.
Still early right?
What is the rock for?
The rock is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the instructions on the flameless ration heater, that instruct you to incline it on "a rock or something" while it cooks :)
I just wondering, but was this guy in the military?
That's what I was wondering
Pinkcookie Yeah ... Hmmm ...
I still need to know
Hi there Christa, what would you like to know?
Anybody knows what it is
the creamsicles were always made with sherbet but now there are many companies who simply cover over the ice cream with orange ice lolly. :-(
What has this world come to! Companies have started using artificial flavors!! I'm only 11 but I member when I was younger creamsicles tasted great now they taste bad!!
the rice still looks like rice, not an unidentifiable substance.
impressive.
ContrastY Good spotting, identifiable rice is a rare thing in MRE's!
If its orange cream, we used to get those from the ice cream man all the time. Ice cream!
They were so good! And you just reminded me about that Eddie Murphy Ice Cream skit... Lol.
LOL. Glad I could "help" out like that...its a classic! Thanks for the vids man, you and your family rock!
TheRealMrPooPyNuTz Cheers mate
You too sir...and thank you for the reviews. Its been a treat seeing your channel grow with each of your reviews...plus, your daughter is such a sweetheart! Thanks again!
MRE proboly taste really good right? they look good too
anthony yu Considering that the items are shelf stable, I think most taste very good. Even if you don't like a particular component, there's enough in the packs to make most people happy.
hmmmm someday i might buy them and your online right now cool than:)
anthony yu Let me know how your first MRE goes :-)

If its gonna have Black Beans on the package, the rice BETTER look good. That cheese on the other hand..."looks as good comin as it does goin"
It was right up there with the best MREs I've had, Super impressed with this one :)
Im eating a beef and black beans MRE right now lol
+Raviolist Awesome! Hope you enjoyed it.
Do you know what sounds good in an MRE? SUSHI with soy sauce I know it doesn't keep well but hey, more variety
Carson Phillips Lol.. I can only imagine the funky chemicals they'd have to use in order to keep Sushi shelf-stable!
just bought 3 mres because i was hungry
facepalm
Hacksin01 Good on you mate ;-) They'll certainly take care of that hunger.
good geel^^
do u and your daughter eat it all
Hi Dennis, yep - we manage to get through it all. It's our weekly treat night ;)
No Salt?! :O
And I didn't end up adding any red pepper either :) It was that good.
Any one out there
Will u send me a MRE please
The beef and beans looks like Alpo dog food.
Anybody
2-0 for peelable seal
Next time first pop, no knife or camera tricks ;-)
A creamsicle is an icecream bar that consists of vanilla icecream surrounded by a thin layer or orange sherbert, very tasty :) I enjoy creamsicle floats myself, orange soda over vanilla icecream
Cheers. Sounds delicious. I wish they had Creamsicles over here.
