My favourite is unquestionably the amazing footage of Scotsman with the incredible low angle of light to the rear of the train, Pen-y-ghent in the background and patches of mist in the fields. One of the finest pieces of film of any steam locomotive that I’ve ever seen. Exceptional even by your standards. Here’s to you and yours and best wishes for the year ahead.

Some of these trains have a Diesel loco on their tail. Is the Diesel actually assisting - or is it there 'just-in-case'?

Thanks Michael, most of the videos with the diesel see little or no assistance from the rear but sadly sometimes the diesel was helping ☹️
