  • I realize some descriptions were incorrect. By .0015 of a thou I mean 1.5 thou (.0015 inch) for the bottom bracket facing clearances.

You and a lot of other people have no clue what QC really does. It is absolutely ludicrous to think that they inspect every single frame that is built. I did QC at a metal fabrication company and we looked at the first batch of a product, about the middle of a run and the final. ANY issues found were relayed through channels to the customer and decided if it was an issue or not. I can tell you from first hand experience, most weren’t even close to being an issue and the weld on the inside of a fork wouldn’t even have been a concern or a question that was even raised. Thinking that QC looks at every single piece during the manufacturing process, is absolutely insane. Every thing would be insanely expensive and nothing would ever be made, the wait list would be measured in decades, not years. Should your expectations be as high as they are considering the price? No. In the end, it’s still a mass production product, not a custom one off build for you… even then, I seriously doubt the welds would be as perfect as you expect them to be, especially on a part of a build that is, pretty much, never seen after the initial build… QC is considered a “non-value added expense” considering how infrequently they find “real” issues.

Love your Passhunter frameset. Pity VO no longer sells this lovely colorway. I am looking to buy and build one as a real solid and climbing gravel bike. I would swap out the heavy fork for a carbon lighter fork, e.g., Whisky fork. What is the min and max tire and 700 cm gravel wheelset that this frame can handle? Thank you.

This would be cool with a lighter fork! Max is rated 47mm in 650b and 35mm 700c without fenders.

Buddy you do not understand materials or structural engineering, based on the multiple gripes you presented. Please stop.
