I feel like the reason a lot of people didn't enjoy Dogma 2 was because they were expecting a very in depth RPG, especially people who haven't played the OG. I've played the first to death but originally didn't enjoy it at all. The moment it clicked me i should view it as an immersive sim more than an RPG it became so much more fun. Anyway, happy new year to everyone
Grabbed Helldivers 2 over the holidays and I absolutely love the silly fun it brings, but I think the argument of repetitive gameplay is 100% valid. But out of games I play that has repetitive gameplay it is still #1 for me. :)

Man dragons dogma 2 was my game of the year this year. Probably one of my favorite games ever but I’m a huge fan of the original and it did pretty much everything I wanted in a sequel. The exploration and combat were just perfect for me but I will say the story was janky, just like the first one tbh
Nah if you put Dragons Dogma 2's combat on a better RPG everyone would be sucking it off. Everything around combat was so turbo ass though I can absolutely see why you think that way. Also, I'm sure you didn't make other classes but DD2 had horrible class balance, my wife was an archer and was shook when she watched my lower level mage destroy the dragon she spent 20 minutes killing in 30 seconds I saw an article that about how young people are using games as mediums to hangout more than finding any meaningful experience (things like Fortnite and Cod), and I think helldivers II really fits this niche very well.
Ya was not a fan of dragons dogma 2 at all either, and I think most people probably use games just as a fun escape or social thing, the more hardcore like myself use it as “art” since I don’t watch much movies etc
Rogue Trader is fantastic. I know it's popular, but it deserves so much more attention.
